My addiction was cheese. I went vegan mostly all at once and it wasn't easy in the beginning.
I wonder if some of the meat replacers will help you make the transition. I especially have liked some of Gardein's products, my favorite is their meatballs, and they have a ground meat like product that works well. Tofu and mushrooms can add that extra meaty element too. I made the transition to veggie burgers easily by putting everything else on the burger that I normally would. For flavor I can suggest the vegetarian Better Than Bouillon 'no beef' or 'no chicken' flavors, they taste exactly like the real thing.

Good luck in your journey!

I used to be addicted to beef and other red meats also, living out in the woods growing up learning to hunt deer and elk were staples for us along with raising beef making sure We had plenty in the freezer. When I got older and moved to my own home I quickly grew out of hunting but would still eat red meat.
It was many years ago that a neighbor down the road invited me for dinner having a thick ribeye 🥩 steak with Lobster emoticon which I never had before and then French bread and lots of butter to go along with it. This dinner was so rich that it made me sick all night and every since then I have not had any red meats or had the desire to have any dishes with ground meat in them.
I do love fish mostly cooked with vegetables or noddles.

I've been following a paleo diet for 4 years. Lots of fatty red meat. I've detoxed from other animal products, sugar, caffeine, and gluten. But I keep slipping up with red meat! I can't seem to kick the beef habit for more than a few days. I end up binging on it! This is my one addiction left, and I want to COMPLETELY detox and be free from it. Any advice? Why is this substance so much harder for me to get rid of than sugar, caffeine, gluten, and other animal products? Has anyone else been addicted to beef? I'm trying to cut back to once a week, then twice a month... and eventually wean myself off of it. But no success so far. If anyone else has struggled with beef addiction, and found a way to get free of it forever, PLEASE share your advice with me! 😳
