Hello Friends,

Yesterday was a busy day and I just now got a chance to total my points for this week. My points are 1525. I've enjoyed chatting with all of you and getting to know you better this month.

Hope - I sure hope Simon will come back home. I'll continue to keep my fingers crossed that he'll come home. Thanks, I think we'll be able to find a house. It just might take a little bit of time.
Thank you for turning in the points for our team this week!

Alice - I'm sorry you won't be joining in on the BSG Challenge for next month.

Amanda and CJ - I hope you feel better soon!

Hello Thankful Turkeys!

Well, today was a weird day. We got up late and then the landlord along with his daughter came over to the house. His daughter doesn't live far from here and she's around our age. They were here for about 2 1/2 hours. We enjoyed talking to them. He kind of laid a bombshell on us though. He is planning on moving to Colorado and into this house around the end of August. That means we're really going to have to start looking seriously at buying a house.

Unfortunately, I didn't get any exercise in today. I worked on my drawing some more and looked at houses online. I did accomplish 3 things that I had been putting off though. I got more than 3 servings of freggies in as well.

Tomorrow, I'm going to go see about getting new lenses and maybe new frames as well. I'll need to get some heels probably for the Christmas dinner that the company Randy works for is having on Saturday.

Tonight, I am thankful that we've saved as much money as we have towards buying a house.

Hope - I always enjoy decorating the Christmas tree. I'm glad you enjoyed decorating your Christmas tree. Wow, that's a lot of practicing!
Thank you for your encouragement on my walk and cleaning. I'm looking forward to working on my extra credit drawing.

CJ, Amanda, Alice - I hope all of you had a good day today!

Hello, Thankful Turkeys! Today we decorated our Christmas tree. I enjoyed doing it. Tonight I had choir practice. Our Christmas concert is a week from Sunday, so we had two practices this week, and next week we will have three practices. Itís a lot of practice! Today I am thankful for my choir director.

Cathy Ė Good job going for a walk and also cleaning. Thatís also good that youíre almost done with your drawing. Good luck with your extra credit drawing, too.

Amanda Ė Good for you for getting over 10,000 steps! I hope everythingís okay with your job. I bet it is.

CJ and Alice Ė I hope you both had a good day today.

Hello Thankful Friends!

I didn't get to do Pilates on my Total Gym today like I wanted to. I went to bed late because I was having a lot of gas and I knew if I went to bed without trying to get rid of the gas I'd be up all night with my stomach hurting. I took some activated charcoal which helped a lot. Anyway, I got up late because I went to bed late. Then I needed to clean up the house a little before I left for class. Randy and I ended up going for a short walk before my class. When we got home we did a little more cleaning. Our landlord is in town and wants to stop by tomorrow afternoon to renew our lease for another year. We wanted to make sure the house was pretty clean before he comes over.

I'm almost completely done with my drawing. I emailed my instructor and asked her if I could do another drawing for extra credit. She thought I was worried about what grade I was going to get in class but that isn't it. We have another 2 weeks of classes and then the semester is over. I don't want to be sitting around for the next 2 weeks without something to do. She said that I could do another drawing if I wanted to. Tomorrow, I'll probably try to complete my drawing and maybe go get a new pair of glasses. My prescription has changed so I need to get new lenses at least.

Today, I am thankful that there are many places to eat nearby. I had to run some errands after class today and stopped at a nearby restaurant to get some food to take home.

CJ - I'm really glad to hear you aren't feeling so nauseous. Being sick has a way of making you feel wiped out. I'm glad you are trying to get as much sleep as possible. That's so sweet of Stephanie to massage your feet.

Hope - That's really good news about your dad's appointment with the facial surgeon. I'm glad to hear your dad won't need surgery.
I was 9 years old when they found a brain tumor. I was really small for my age and looked more like I was 6 years old. The tumor was the size of a lime. It damaged the right optic nerve and destroyed all of my pituitary gland. It was super scary for my parents. Of course, I was so young I didn't really understand what was going on. I too hope the MRI results turn out well. I am glad that the eye doctor is so thorough as well.

Amanda - I got more than 10,000 steps today too! The first time in a long time! That's good your nutrition was good today too. I hope your supervisor doesn't hold it against you that you were sick and didn't get all of your work done. I hope that your supervisor doesn't think you can handle the work and that you'll feel better tomorrow. Wow, 20 degrees and milking cows at 4 am would not be fun. I hope you'll feel better soon.
It was scary that I had a brain tumor and that it was the size of a lime when I was only 9 years old. I'm glad you had one brain tumor removed but I'm sorry that they couldn't remove the other one. If it's safer to leave it alone then I suppose that's all they can do. Do they check on it to see if it's getting bigger or anything like that?

Alice - I hope you had a good day and are staying warm.

Hello Thankful Turkeys! Today I have over 10,000 steps! My nutrtition is good today too. Im just really tired today. I was off from the store today but my supervisor messaged me and told me she is going to work Saturday, and ill have off. Now im worried I did something wrong and thats why shes working. We should have a decently busy day Saturday, and this past Saturday when we were busy I didnt get all my work done because I had customers and I wasnt feeling well (when i woke up that morning I had a 101 fever but it came down with advil and tylenol- the night before it was around 102. And not normal body temperature usually runs about 97.4 to 97.6 or so). So not feeling well slowed me down, usually it doenst but with fever like that it did. So now im just worried shes working becausethe dont think I can handle it. They didnt know I was sick saturday. I guess ill find out tomorrow when I work.

My internet has been horrible lately and ive had crappy cell phone service the last week on and off too. I blame it on the weather. It was freezing this morning milking cows it was like 20 degrees when we left the house.

Today Im thankful for my nephews and niece!

Hope- Im glag your Dad doesnt need surgery. I hope your cat comes home soon. You must be sad that hes gone.

CJ- Im glad you are feeling a little better

Cathy-Thats scary you had a brain tumor. I had one when I was 14, that i had to have removed and I have one that doctors cant remove. They say its safer to leave it alone than to try to remove it,.

Alice- Hope you are keeping warm in this cold weather and had a great day

Hello, Thankful Turkeys! I forgot to tell you yesterday that my father had his appointment with the facial surgeon. Fortunately, his assessment was the same as the emergency room doctorís assessment. He said that although it was fractured, there wasnít really anything they could do for it. It will just take time to heal. Today I am thankful that my father doesnít need surgery.

CJ Ė Iím glad youíre not feeling as nauseous now. I hope you can get a lot of rest tonight and tomorrow.

Cathy Ė Oh my goodness, I didnít know that you had had a brain tumor years ago! How scary. I hope your MRI results turn out well when you have it. Iím glad the eye doctor is so thorough. Good for you for walking today.

Alice and Amanda Ė I hope you both had a good day today.

Hello Friends - thank you for the kind wishes. I'm not feeling so nauseous now but I am VERY tired. It's an effort to do much of anything. My mind decides to move but my body says, "Noooo!"
I'm trying to get as much sleep as possible. Stephanie massaged my feet and that has helped me relax so we'll see what tomorrow brings. Thanks for being here.

Hello Thankful Turkeys!

I didn't sleep very well last night and I'm going to try to get to bed earlier tonight. This morning I went to see the eye doctor. I've never had him before but he did do Randy's catarct surgery as well as Randy's brother and dad. It took a lot longer than I expected but he's very thorough. He's going to refer me to a neuro ophthalmologist to get an MRI to make sure that the scar tissue on my right optic nerve hasn't gotten worse over the years after my brain tumor was removed. After that I had an appointment to get my hair done.

I did get around 20 minutes of walking in today. I'm hoping to do Pilates on my Total Gym in the morning. I paced in the room while I waited for the eye doctor to come in. While I didn't eat strictly according to the Fast Metabolism Diet, I did pretty much eat all Paleo approved foods.

Today, I am thankful that the eye doctor is as thorough as he is.

CJ - I'm sorry to hear you may be getting sick. If you can, try to get some Emergen-C. It should help you get over being sick or help it to not be so bad. I hope you aren't getting the stomach flu. I hope you felt a little better tonight and that the ginger tea helped. Rest as much as you can. We're thankful for you too! HUGS!

Alice - That's great that you are enjoying the exercise videos. I know I prefer to exercise in the morning too. It's like it helps to set your mood for the whole day. I'm anxious to get my last assignment done.

Amanda - Good work on your steps today. Doing okay on your nutrition is better than having a bad nutrition day. I'm glad your throat feel better today. Maybe you should get a humidifier to help with your dry throat. I love music too. The semester did go by fast. Thanks for your encouragement on choosing water over wine.

Hope - I'm so sorry Simon hasn't turned up yet. I'll continue to get my fingers crossed that he'll turn up safe and sound very soon. That's good you volunteered at your church library. Yum, soup in bread bowls sounds good. I'm glad you get along well with the other library volunteers you work with.
The semester ends on December 16. The drawing I'm working on now is one where we had to pick 3 items from a small table of items to draw. Then we have to do at least 3 different textures (hatching, cross hatching, contour hatching, scumbling, patchwork hatching and stippling) on the three different items and we have to shade the shadows as well. This is all done in ink or what's called pen and ink. If I can do another drawing for extra credit, I think I'll probably do it.

Hello, Thankful Turkeys! Simon hasnít turned up yet, but Iím not giving up hope. This morning I volunteered at our church library. Tonight my parentsí supper club had dinner here at our house, so we spent time this afternoon getting ready for it. We had soup in bread bowls, which was very good. Today I am thankful for the other library volunteers that I work with.

Amanda Ė Good job getting over 13,000 steps today! I love music, too.

Alice Ė I like exercise videos, too. Do you have any favorites? My favorites are Leslie Sansone, Jessica Smith, and Yoga with Adriene.

CJ Ė Iím glad Stephanie had a nice date. So sorry youíre sick! Take care of yourself.

Cathy Ė Iím glad that having your current drawing be the last project for the semester is taking a lot of pressure off you. When does the semester end? What are you drawing now?

Hello Friends - This may be our turn to get sick. Lots of folks have stomach flu and I suspect they are sharing it around. So far I'm just nauseous and have a blinding headache. So I'm drinking ginger tea and hoping for the best. I'm getting what sleep I can.

I'm thankful for you, my teammates.
Bless you one and all. emoticon

Hello, Thankful Turkeys!

I went to college a little early today. I had planned on getting a salad from the bookstore for my lunch but they were out. They were out of a lot of things. I ended up getting a package of tuna and crackers as well as a bottle of water. I had brought some grapes with me for a snack. None of it was very filling. I ended up going back to the bookstore to try to find something else. I found one of the P3 snacks but for some reason it gave me gas. I ended up only eating about half of it.

I found out today that the drawing we are working on now is the last project for the semester and we can take as much time working on it as we want. I'm still thinking of doing another drawing on my own for extra credit. Either way, it takes a lot of pressure off of me. I thought this was going to be due on Wednesday or at least 1 week from today so I ended up not getting any exercise in.

This evening after we put the birds to bed we ran over to the mall to get Randy some new jeans. The pairs he's been wearing have holes in them. Then we stopped to get something to eat from a restaurant not far from the house. I was tempted to get a glass of wine but opted to get a glass of water instead.

Today, I am thankful that the drawing I'm working on now is the last one I HAVE to do for the semester.

CJ - I'm so glad to hear that Stephanie had a nice time on her date. Not trying to be nosey but I'm curious as to how they met? It sounds like they enjoy each other's company. That's great news that he wants to get together again. It's wonderful to hear that her smiles are special now that she is seeing this guy. I hope things continue to go well for both of them.

Alice - I love hot tea and especially this time of year. I'm sorry you were feeling melancholy this morning. I hope tomorrow will be better for you.
I too am glad we were able to get the problems with the tickets resolved. We did enjoy seeing the Nutcracker. We'll probably go again next year.

Amanda - Sorry you still aren't feeling all that well but I'm glad you are feeling a little better. If you can, you should get some Emergen-C from Walgreens or someplace like that. It really helps you to get over your cold quicker. Yuck, it sounds like your weather has been nasty. Good work on all of your steps and your water today. I hope your throat feels better tomorrow. I can only imagine how hard it was to get up at 4 am this morning.
I too am glad we have a good landlord.

Hope - Any news about Simon yet? I'll continue to keep my fingers crossed that you'll be reunited with him soon.

Hello Friends! Im still feeling kinda blah today, but thankfully feeling a little bit better. Its been a dreary day here, we have had quite a bit of rain, then had some sleet and some snow mix in. I have over 12,000 steps today, my nutrition is ok, and I have like 12 water so far. Ive had pop too..I really have to get back away from it, Ive doing better but that is defintly something I need to work on again. Im really thirsty today..even though Im feeling a little better my throat hurts so Ive been drinking alot. After having a few days off milking, it was hard getting up at 4 am this morning, although I havent taken a nap today even though i have been really tired.
Yay for winning week 3 and everyones great team work!

Today Im thankful we havent gotten alot snow like they have north of us a couple hours.

Hi all,

Congratulations on your week 3 points totals! I'm playing catch-up after being away from the computer the past few days.

Today I'm thankful for hot tea. I'm feeling melancholy this morning for various reasons, and all I'd like to do is stay under the covers. But I had to go to work, so the tea will have to do.

CJ - Forgive me for not knowing this, but how are you and Stephanie related? I hope her new relationship goes well.

Amanda - I hope you're feeling better today.

Cathy - I'm so glad you were able to resolve the ticketing issue and see the Nutcracker. I hope it was fun.

Hope - Has Simon come home?

Hello Thankful Friends - Good news. Stephanie had a nice time on her date. They met in August and then started chatting regularly a few weeks ago. Today they walked all around the park until they got too cold being outside. Then they visited a little local sandwich/bakery shop for food and more talk. He wants to get together again! From what Stephanie tells me he seems to be a really nice guy.

I'm thankful things went well for Stephanie. She always smiles - but now it is special.

More tomorrow - Sleep well, my friends.

Hello Thankful Friends!

Great job everyone! We work well together as a team!

This morning I exercised before breakfast. Then we gave the birds their bath and then we both showered. Tried to go to the mall tonight. It wasn't even quite 6:30 and they were closed. I was surprised to see them closed so early, especially the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Maybe they're trying to save money by closing early. I don't know but it was just weird. We drove over to Best Buy, which is just across the street. We looked at a Windows Surface Pro computer to see how it did with a simple art program. There's a big lag time between what you do and it showing up on the screen. Needless to say, we weren't impressed and iPad's are sooo expensive.

I'm going to try to at least get some walking in tomorrow before class. It probably won't be outside though since there is still snow and ice on the ground. The last thing I want to do is break a bone by slipping and falling on the ice.

We got a text message today from our landlord. He is in town and wants to come over sometime this week. He wants to renew our lease for another year. Which is fine with us. We're still saving money as much as we can so we can put at least 20% down on a home. Also, we're hoping that it will be a buyer's market instead of a seller's market in the not too distant future.

Today, I am thankful that we have a good landlord and that he wants us to renew our lease for another year.

CJ - How exciting for Staphanie and this man to meet in person. How long have they been chatting for? I hope that her date goes well and that they'll end up getting together for more dates. That's great that the rain has even stopped for them! I'll keep my fingers crossed that they'll have more dates together. I hope Stephanie's birthday party was a big success. I'll bet the garlands with pastel flowers and letters was really cute. I'm so glad we worked out the mess with the tickets. I would have been really disappointed to not see it. The Colorado Spring Philharmonic Orchestra plays all of the music that goes along with the ballet and the musice really makes the ballet even more magical. I made pretty good progress on my drawing. I'm hoping I can get it finished tomorrow before class.

Amanda - I'm so sorry to hear you've been sick. I'm glad to hear your fever isn't as high but I'm sorry you are still feeling bad and have a cold. I'm sorry you have to get up at 4 am tomorrow and every day this week as well as having to work 3 days this week! I hope you can get a good night's rest and that you'll start to feel better soon.

Hope - Good work walking a mile today. The Christmas concert sounds lovely. I'm glad you were able to go. I too am glad we got the Nutcracker tickets straightened out!

Alice - I hope you had a good day and weekend!

Hello Thankful Friends - We've had an exciting day - Stephanie has been chatting with a man she got acquainted with recently and they have decided to meet. It's been a while since she has gone on an official "date" so she's been planning her clothes, etc. You know - all that stuff that helps a girl get ready. They are meeting at one of our parks that has trails and beautiful views of the city. Then they plan to go out to eat (and warm up). It's even stopped raining for them!

I am thankful that Stephanie is getting this opportunity to build a relationship.

Amanda - wow you have long days when you work in town. Hope that doesn't happen often. Are you sleeping better?

Hope - thanks for turning in our points. I'm praying that Simon is safe and will be home with you soon. You are ahead of me in getting your tree up. I got mine out but haven't put it up yet.
We are decorating for Stephanie's birthday party first. It is this Sunday afternoon and I wanted to have the focus be on that. We have garlands with pastel flowers and letters spelling out Happy Birthday Stephanie. It looks really cute.

Alice - What a treat to get out after the snow and enjoy your creek. How beautiful. I agree with you that the sound of water rippling is relaxing - it tends to bring me close to nature.

Cathy - I'm so happy you were able to work out the ticket fracas so you could see The Nutcracker. It is so festive and a delightful start to the holiday season. I especially enjoy it when they have a live orchestra playing Tchaikovsky's gorgeous dance music. I hope you make good progress on your drawing so you can get ready for your final project.

Hello Thankful Turkeys!

Today, I worked on my drawing and have a good portion of it done. This afternoon Randy and I went for a short walk. We went a little less than a mile because it was pretty cold outside. It started snowing this evening. I went over to the grocery store to pick up a few things. We're not even supposed to get an inch but I'd rather be prepared in case we do get more. I'm hoping to get my drawing done tomorrow. It's not due until Wednesday or a week from Monday but I want to get a head start on my final project. Also, Tuesday I have an appointment to get my hair done and an appointment with my eye doctor.

When I picked our seats online to see the Nutcracker, I printed them. I didn't even look at the tickets. We went to the Pikes Peak Center and had our tickets scanned. It said that we were in the mezanine and the exact same seats where we sat last year. We didn't even think about it except that I knew I had picked box seats. Then, a man and his young daughter came to sit down and we were in their seats. The doorman looked at our tickets and it said that they were for 11/24 which was today. Obviously, we thought we had the wrong day. Thankfully, before we left we took the tickets back up to the lady who scanned our tickets and asked her what we should do. Once your tickets are scanned you can't come back. She happened to notice that our tickets said they were for 11/24/17. She told us to go back up to the box office ticket window and talk to them about it. The lady straightened at the box office ticket window straightened it out for us. She printed us new tickets and we got to sit in the seats I had picked. If we had left without talking to someone we would have been out the money we paid.

Today, I am thankful for the king sized bed we have.

Hope - I hope you slept better last night. We haven't put the ornaments or the garland on our tree yet either. Hopefully, this week I can find the time to do both. Ours is an artificial tree that is pre-lit too. Sorry that some of the lights didn't light up. That's great you were able to get some more strands of light at Target and that you got some Christmas shopping done too. Good work doing some yoga this evening. Having your health and the ability to exercise is definitely something to be grateful for. I'm surprised your mom hasn't seen The Nutcracker. Maybe the two of you can go next year to see it and your dad too, if that is something he'd enjoy doing. I'm glad you've already done some of my suggestions. I hope that Simon comes home before Monday or if nothing else, that when you call the Humane Society on Monday they'll have him in their care.

Alice - That's great you and your husband bundled up and took a nice long walk by the creek. Living near a creek and listening to the sound of water over rocks would be soothing.

Amanda - I hope you didn't have to be in town and at work for so long today. I hope it was a better day all the way around.

CJ - I hope you had a good day today.

Hello, Thankful Turkeys! Today we put up our Christmas tree. We havenít put the ornaments on yet, but we got the tree up. Itís an artificial tree that is pre-lit, but some of the lights didnít work when we plugged them in. So we went to Target and bought some extra strings of lights to add to the tree. While we were out, we did some Christmas shopping, too. The stores werenít as crowded as I expected them to be. I also did some yoga this evening. Today I am thankful for my health and my ability to exercise.

Alice Ė Thatís nice that you were able to take a walk outside even though it was so cold. I like the sound of water over rocks, too.

Cathy Ė Iím glad you enjoyed The Nutcracker. Iíve only seen it twice ever, but I enjoyed it both times. I just found out recently that my mother has never seen it, which I was surprised about. Thank you so much for all your suggestions about looking for Simon. Iíve done some of them. The humane society has been closed for the holiday, but I will call them on Monday.

Amanda Ė Wow, a 12-hour day is long. Sorry you had to do that. Great job getting 26,000 steps!

CJ Ė Iím glad you had such a great Thanksgiving.

Hi all,

Just a quick check-in on our way out for the day. It's bitter cold here, but we bundled up and took a nice long walk by the creek. There was ice and snow all around the water, making some really neat patterns. I'm thankful that we live near a creek, since I find the sound of water over rocks so soothing.

Hello Thankful Friends!

It's hard to believe we are in the last week of the challenge for November. It seems like we just started the month. This morning we went to our favorite local coffee shop to get coffee and something quick to eat before going to get my mammogram. Came home and took a little nap then called for a Lyft to go to see The Nutcracker. It's easier than having to pay cash to park in the parking garage, fight with traffic and easier to get out of the place. We really enjoyed seeing it again. There was a little mishap and we almost didn't get to see the performance. I'll tell you about it tomorrow.

The only exercise I got today was walking around trying to figure out where our seats were. I guess that's better than nothing but tomorrow I really need to get back on my Total Gym again.

Today, I am thankful that we got to see The Nutcracker again. I'm not sure why, but it's performed by the Oklahoma City Ballet every year. There is going to a performance in January for Swan Lake. I might try to get Randy to go.

CJ - I'm glad you had a great Thanksgiving with your friends. That's nice that your friend Same know how to cook "from scratch". My paternal grandma always made everything from scratch. Nothing was ever prepackaged. I'm glad your cheesecake turned out to be yummy and that everyone liked it. It is a nice to feel welcomed and at home with friends. I hope you had a good day today too.

Hope - Thank you for turning in the points for our team this week! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving with so many family members.

Alice - Don't worry about not turning in your points this week. It has happened to all of us at least once each year. I hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

Amanda - I'm sorry you had to go into work so early before your shift started and then you had to stay late because your hubby couldn't get away from the farm. A 12 hour day would make for a really long day! Good work getting so many steps in today though! I hope you won't have to be at work for 12 hours tomorrow. I hope you get some sleep and your headache goes away.

Hope all of you have a great day tomorrow!

Hello, Thankful Turkeys!

I hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving. We had a nice quiet Thanksgiving. Randy put up the tree last night and got out some of the ornaments. This past August when my sister, BIL and I helped my mom clean out to a degree what was in my Grandpa's house so it could be sold, one of the things I brought home with me was a big train set. Well, I think my Uncle had bought it at a garage sale or something because there were parts of the track missing and one of the train cars was missing it's wheels. I hadn't noticed that one of the cars was missing the wheels when I packed it up and brought it home. So, I'll see if I can find some replacement parts for it online.

This afternoon we watched a couple of movies we have on DVD. Last night we started watching "What About Bob" with Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss. It's one of our favorite movies. The other movie we watched was the original National Lampoons Vacation with Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo. I didn't remember that there was any cussing in the movie. I don't object to it and there isn't much in it but I was just surprised. I also didn't remember that there was some nudity in it too. Although, it has been probably 30 or more years since I've seen it.

Today, I am thankful I didn't have to do much cooking. All I had to do really, was heat everything up. The Linzer Torte was really good too! It reminded me of a rasberry tart.

I got on the scale this morning and my weight was back down to what it was a few weeks ago. The one thing I've done differently recently is being more careful about what I eat. I've been trying to eat more like I was when I was doing the Fast Metabolishm Diet a few years ago. I'm not following it strictly but it still seems like it's helping.

Hope - I'm so sorry your cat Simon still hasn't come home. Have you checked with the humane society, assuming you have a humane society there. I don't know if you have a print that prints in color but maybe you could print up some posters on printer paper and post them in your neighborhood and maybe at the humane society or other pet shelters. It take a few days or maybe longer to get accepted on the website but there is a website called Nextdoor.com. It's for your neighborhood and city where you can post things to sell, looking for, missing pets, etc.. Anyway, that might be a place for you to post a picture of Simon and a phone number to call. I'm glad your dad was able to get an appointment with the facial surgeon so quickly. I'm glad he felt okay today. Wow, that's a lot of people to cook for. I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving!
Yeah, I wasn't too happy about them doing the road work so early in the morning. I suppose I should be thankful that they repaired the sidewalk. I was happy that Randy's dad called to let us know he got to Oklahoma alright. I know how scared you must be for him! He's never wandered that far from home has he? I know I'd be scared too, if I were in your shoes! I'll keep my fingers crossed that he'll come home in the next couple of days!

Amanda - I didn't even get 5,000 steps today so good work on getting 10,000+ steps in yesterday. Glad you didn't get the snow that was called for. I'm sure you did enjoy not having to get up at 4 am. Ugh! It seems like this time of year brings out the worst in people!
Yeah, I wasn't too happy about them working on the road so early in the morning. Not much I could do about it though. Thank you for your encouragement on my walking.
I'm glad your husband's family has helped you and your husband out in many ways. I'm sorry they don't seem to think too highly of you. I can understand how that would stress you out.
You might need to reset your fitbit if it's not working quite right.
Those are all good things to be thankful for. I know being a farmer is hard work! I too am thankful for all of the people who had to work today.

CJ - I hope the cheesecake turned out well and that everyone liked it. I also hope you had a good time at your friends' house for Thanksgiving.

Alice - I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving.

Hello Thankful Turkeys! I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mine was ok. I spent the day with my husbands family. Im thankful for his family in some ways, cause they have helped us out in so many ways, but I really dont think they think too highly of me, which stresses me out.

I think my fitbit isnt working right, its not counting my steps right. I didnt get alot of steps, but it said all day, I diddnt even get 1000 steps which i know isnt right.

Today, Im thankful for family and friends. And Im thankful for my husband and all farmers, who had to work today despite being Thanksgiving. My husband and his brother both put in probably 12 hour days today. Im also thankful for police officers, firemen, doctors, nurses and other people in similar fields or other fields who had to work and be away from their family and friends. Including those in retail who had to work today.

Hello, Thankful Turkeys. My cat Simon still hasnít come home. Iím so sad. This morning my dad called the facial surgeonís office and got himself an appointment for Tuesday. He felt okay today, not great but not terrible. Today my mother and I did a lot to get ready for Thanksgiving. Weíre going to have about 40 people here for lunch tomorrow. Theyíre mostly cousins from my motherís side of the family. Today I am thankful for my family.

Cathy Ė What a pain that the road work woke you up. I hope you get to sleep longer tonight. Thatís good that Randyís dad called to let you know that he got to Oklahoma safely. Good job doing Pilates and eating your freggies yesterday! Thank you for being so sympathetic about Simon. I really appreciate it.

CJ Ė I love cheesecake. I didnít know it took so many hours to make it.

Alice and Amanda Ė I hope you both had a good day today.

I hope all of you have a happy Thanksgiving tomorrow! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hello Thankful Friends!

I'm on a little earlier than normal but I want to get to bed earlier tonight too. We were awakened early by the DOT doing some work on the sidewalk across the street. There is another street that inetersects our street in front of our house. They had put some new electrical cable in a month or so ago. They had to do dig up the sidewalk and a small portion of the street. I guess something must have been wrong with part of the sidewalk because they jackhammered it up with an industrial jackhammer attached to one of those small caterpillar tractor's. Then, a friend of ours was supposed to come over at 10 this morning but was late by almost an hour. He's doing the marketing part for our video game business. We went over to our favorite local coffee shop to get something to eat and have our coffee. Came back home and Randy showed him how to edit video's and add sound to them. While they did that I worked on my drawing some. Afterwards, we went to the Dutch bakery and bought a Linzer Torte. Neither of us have ever had anything like it so it should be interesting to see what it tastes like. We brought it home and then went to the grocery store. We went to one of the bigger ones that's not too far from us. I needed to get some ingredients to make sweet potato casserole. I also needed to get an electric hand mixer.

This morning while we were waiting for our friend to get to the house, we did some walking. There were 3 female deer out eating whatever they could find and one male deer that was in rut chasing one of the females. I definitely didn't want to get between him and the one female he was chasing. He had a big rack of antlers on him too!

This evening I partially made the sweet potato casserole while Randy talked to his dad. I'm glad he actually called us and let us know he got to Randy's brother's house alright in Oklahoma. He usually forgets so I'm glad he remembered to call.

Today, I am thankful for so many things. I am thankful that I don't have to worry about every penny that is spent for food or anything else. I still am cautious about what I spend money on and how much but it's not a constant worry like it was when we lived in Missouri.

CJ - Wow, you certainly were up late making the cheesecake for Thanksgiving. I had no idea that it took so long to make cheesecake. I hope you were able to get some sleep while it was on the cooling rack.

Amanda - I hope you had a good day and that you made it to work safely.

Hope - I sure hope your kitty came home! I'm sure you are heartbroken and worried about him.

Alice - I hope you are staying warm at work and at home.

I hope all of you have a very Happy Thanksgiving! Not sure if I'll get time to chat tomorrow or not but I'll try my best.

Hello Friends - I'm up late making the cheesecake for Thanksgiving. I didn't realize how many hours it takes to chill between each layer and then chill again after it bakes. Well it is finished baking now - then it stays in the oven with the heat off and the door open for another hour, then it rests on a cooling rack for 2 more hours and then finally I can put it in the frig. to chill for the next 24 hours. It smells wonderful. I'm setting the timer after I get it on the cooling rack hoping I can get some zz's.

I'll try to get back with responses a bit later - if I can stay awake. lol

Hello Thankful Friends!

Today I got up a little earlier than normal. Then I took my meds after getting dressed. I have to wait an hour before I can eat after taking my thyroid medicine. I had some steel cut oatmeal in the fridge but I didn't have enough for both of us. I ended up making more in the Instant Pot. After breakfast, we bathed the birds. I recorded a short video of it. Maybe sometime this week I can try to upload it to SP.

Once we let the birds out of their cages/condos they came into my office and got in the boxes they play in. After they got settled playing in their boxes I did Pilates on the Total Gym. I had 3 servings of freggies today. Not sure if I'll get time to exercise tomorrow or not. We have quite a few things to do tomorrow. The food from Boston Market came today. I think I'm going to make a sweet potato casserole to go with it though. I found a healthier version of the normal sweet potato casserole and it's from one of the chef's from The Food Network.

Randy got up early this morning. He couldn't sleep because he kept thinking about his dad. Yesterday or the day before yesterday he had told Randy that he was going to go up to our house and use his leaf blower to get all of the leaves out of the gutter. We tried to call him yesterday but he didn't answer his phone. Randy was afraid he'd fallen off of the roof when he didn't answer. He called him multiple times this morning before he finally got ahold of him. I think he had turned the ringer on his phone off while he was in church Sunday and then forgot to turn the ringer back on. He said he just noticed that his phone was flashing or something like that. Randy's brother and girlfriend don't live in Missouri anymore so we get scared when we can't get in touch with him.

Today, I am thankful I have the rest of the week off from college. I'm hoping to get my drawing completed by Sunday. Randy also gave me a good idea of what I can draw for my final project. It might stir up a little controversy/indignation or whatever, especially if you are very conservative but art is like that to a degree. If you've ever seen any of Georgia O'Keeffe's paintings of flowers you know what I mean.

CJ - That's nice that some of the schools are taking the whole week off. I think we usually had the whole week off when I was in school. Great news about the swimming pool finally being open. Wow, renovating a swimming pool for over a year is a long time! How nice that it's so close to your house. That's great news about Stephanie being called for the hiring interview. She's one step closer to getting the job. I'll keep my fingers crossed that she'll get the job, if it's right for her and she wants it. It sounds like you and Stephanie will need to juggle some things. I hope it all works out the way she wants.
I too am glad I have so many art classes to choose from at college. I have a friend from junior high and high school who's wife has a Bachelor's degree in art in Washington state. She said that she teaches water color and acrylic painting long distance. I think she'd be a good teacher. Also, I know they could always use the money. I'd prefer to support him and his wife that are always struggling rather than to pay the college for someone to teach me a technique using YouTube and Pinterest. Doing art is definitely time intensive. I'd like to draw another flower but will probably wait until after this semester ends. My steps weren't as good today.

Alice - Sorry to hear the furnace at work broke down and they can't replace it for a week. I'm glad you can use a space heater though to help keep you warm. Yeah, I rarely reach my 10,000 steps goal either. It is good to get close though.

Amanda - Sorry to hear your internet is slow tonight. Ours hasn't been working very well all day. That's great news that you won't have milk cows again until Monday! I'm glad your nephew is home from college this week and can help out with milking the cows. That's a bummer about getting more snow but at least it didn't really stick. It sounds like going to work early tomorrow might be a good thing for your husband. Glad you are off for Thanksgiving. I hope you can do both...milk the cows and work at the store next week.
Yeah, I've been wanting to take the jewelry class and it sounds like it would be fun! I'm just not sure how much work will be involved with that class. There were times when it seemed like my drawing class was going slow but now it seems like it went by really fast!

Hope - I'm so very sorry your cat hasn't come home. I'm sure you are heartsick and worried about him. I really hope he comes home soon so you won't be worrying about him and feeling so heartsick. Our pets sure do mean a lot to us. Oh my gosh, I'm sos orry to hear your dad fractured his eye socket. That's good they are sending him to a facial surgeon to be checked out in case they do need to do something about it. I'm sorry that his eye will probably be swollen for the next few weeks. Good working doing some yoga and a Jessica Smith walking video.
I've really been wanting to take the jewelry and metalwork class but I'm just not sure how much time I'll have to invest in homework and whatever else for the class. I have spent a lot of time on my drawing class which is why I'm hesitant to take another class. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that your dad can see the facial surgeon soon and that your kitty comes home soon too!

Hello, Thankful Turkeys. My cat hasnít come home. Iím heartsick about it. Also today my fatherís eye started swelling up, so my mother took him to one of those urgent care places. They told him to go to the emergency room at the hospital. There they gave him a CAT scan, then after several hours a doctor finally saw him. It turns out that when he fell yesterday he fractured his eye socket. They said there probably wasnít any need to do anything about it, but they are sending him to a facial surgeon to get it checked out to be safe. This was in the evening, so the facial surgeonís office was closed, but my dad will call tomorrow to get an appointment. At the ER they told him his eye would probably be swollen up for a few weeks. Today I am thankful for doctors and nurses. I did get some exercise done while my parents were at the ER. I did some yoga plus a Jessica Smith walking video.

Amanda Ė Thatís nice that youíll be able to sleep past 4 a.m. for the next few days. I didnít know you usually got up that early. Iím glad you donít have to work on Thanksgiving Day. I always feel sorry for people who have to work on holidays. Thatís good news that your mom and sister both got their electricity back.

Alice Ė Sorry your furnace broke down at work. Thatís good that the space heaters help so much, though. Youíll have to be sure to bundle up while the furnace is out.

CJ Ė Thatís nice that youíll have a newly renovated pool to go to. Good luck to Stephanie on the interview!

Cathy Ė Good job on your walking and your freggies! A jewelry and metalwork class sounds fun, if you think you have enough time to spend on two classes. I know youíve spent a lot of time on your drawing class this semester. Good luck deciding on what to draw for your final project. Youíre right, it did scare us when my father showed up at choir practice last night.

Hello Thankful Turkey! Ughh...My internet is running so slow tonight, both my house internet and my phone! Im excited..i dont have to milk till I believe Monday! My nephew is home from college so he will be milking while hes home! Im excited to sleep past 4 am tomorrow! It was another snowy day, it didnt really stick, but snowed on and off most of the day. Tomorrow they say it could get bad out for a few hours late morning\early afternooon. I go to work at 11, so I may go a little early so mmy husband can be home before it snows. Theres a heavy band of snow coming through, where we could get an inch or two, I dont really worry about my husband driving, its other people. So I might go and sit at the coffee shop or something so he can get home. Then Im off Thursday, and work Friday and Saturday. Next week will be interesting, because I work the store 3 days, plus ill be milking every day, I believe. It will let me see if its doable working both the store and milking. Its not like I work both very much, but its owhen I have to both eary or stay late when I work the store because my husband is busy. It will depend on my schedule for December for the store also.

Today Im thankful I get to sleep in the next few days!

Alice- Its been so cold here too! Alot colder than usual. I hope they get your furnace at work fixed soon!

CJ- Most schools around here had to go Monday and Tuesday here then they have off through next Monday. My nephew ended up having a really a long break because he had this past Friday, then Monday and Today off, because of the weather and no electric at his school then they start break tomorrow. I wish Stephanie luck for the hiring interview! I go to my inlaws for Thanksgiving, which they just live a few minutes away. I usually dont see my family for Thanksgiving. Its hard getting away this time of year any year because of the farm, it be nearly impossible with my father in law just having surgery.

Hope- Im glad your Dad wasnt hurt badly. I hope your cat came back home. Its so scary when they get outside!

Cathy- Great job on your walking and freggies! A jewelry class would be fun! Your semester seems like it went by really fast!

Hi everyone,

Today I'm thankful for space heaters. Our furnace broke down at work yesterday and they can't replace it for a week. We're having unusually cold weather in PA, so the space heaters make it possible to stay reasonably comfortable.

CJ - I hope Stephanie gets good news about the job.

Cathy - Great job getting to 8800 steps. I always try for 10,000 but seldom reach it. But it's good to get close!

Hope - I'm glad your father wasn't hurt badly. And I hope your cat comes home soon.

Amanda - I'm with you on the warm blankets! We keep the house relatively cold, so they help a lot.

Hello Thoughtful Ones - Here we are at Thanksgiving week. Some of the schools are taking the whole week off - makes it nice if families need to travel. Today I am thankful that our swimming pool is finally open. They have been renovating for over a year!!! Can't wait to see all that has been done. It's only 2 blocks from my house which makes it super convenient.

Stephanie heard today that she is being called for the hiring interview this next week. She should know by the end of the month. We've been trying to imagine all the changes this will bring. The jail is out by the Portland airport and public transportation doesn't go there - obviously they have to have a lot of empty space around it. We now have only one car so it will take some planning to coordinate everything. We'll be able to figure it out - it's just lots of change all at once. She may begin work or training before the first of the year.

Cathy - I'm glad you have so many art classes to choose from at college. Doing art is time intensive so I understand you thinking carefully about how much you can do at a time. Sounds like you are motivated to continue honing your skills drawing flowers. Of course, it might be fun to try something new. WooHoo getting in your freggies and increasing your steps.

Amanda - What a relief for you mom and your sister to have their power back. Sounds like you folks are in for major cold. Do you plan to get together for Thanksgiving if the weather cooperates?

Hope - Oh my, that was a nasty fall your dad took. Even though he wasn't seriously injured I'm guessing he will probably have a sore shoulder tomorrow. That's scary that your kitty got out. Here's hoping she finds her way back inside soon.

Alice - hope you are well. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello Thankful Turkeys!

I did about 60 minutes of walking in spurts here and there. I have about 8800 steps in too. Not the 10K I wanted but it's better than the 5K - 6K steps I've been getting in. I had 4 servings of freggies today. I had a chef salad with a balsamic vinaigerrette for lunch at the college today which helped me to get so many freggies in.

I'm trying to decide whether or not to take 2 classes next semester in college. I'm signed up to take Drawing II but I'm thinking about taking a Jewelry and metalwork class or Figure Drawing. I'm also trying to decide what to draw for my final project. I thought about drawing another flower because that was one of my favorite projects we did and I wished it would have turend out a little better. However, I'm wondering if she would like us to be more creative. She hasn't really talked about our final project much except that we get to choose what we want to draw. I have thought about drawing part of one of the doggies we used to have. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what she says when we are done with our current project. We have less than a month left in the semester.

Today, I am thankful I took the drawing class. It sure has opened up something that I never knew I had.

CJ - That's great you had a massage today. It sounds like you were pretty tight all over and the massage made you feel so relaxed that you fell asleep after putting dinner in the oven. I'm glad to hear your migraine is gone. Oh, wow, I never would have associated the toxins being in the air from the fires in California to "sick" headaches. It makes sense though, when you think about it.
I too am happy I was able to spend some time with my family. It's definitely that time of year when the weather isn't necessarily very cooperative. I hope that the weather is good for Christmas. I made some great memories in the short time I was with my family. I feel really lucky and happy that we now live somewhere where we can go see the Nutcracker.
I loved the article you posted! So funny!!

Amanda - WTG on getting so many steps in today! I hope your nutrition is better tomorrow even though it wasn't necessarily bad today. Wow, sorry to hear you got more snow. Do you have to work on Wednesday? That's great news to hear your mom and sister both have there electricity back. I feel so sorry for the people who are without power still. Being thankful for warm blankets is definitely a good thing to be thankful for.
Thank you for your encouragement on my exercise! Yuck, sorry you are supposed to have a cold week and that Thanksgiving day is supposed to be really cold. I hope the weatherman is wrong.

Hope - I'm so sorry to hear your dad fell and scraped up his face, shoulder and hand. Oh no, I'm also sorry to hear that you dad accidentally left the door open and that your cat got out. I imagine that it must have really scared you and your mom having your dad come to choir practice all scraped up like he was. I really hope your cat comes home in the middle of the night. I'm glad your dad wasn't seriously hurt when he fell.

Alice - I hope you didn't lose power and that you are alright.

Hello, Thankful Turkeys! Tonight my mother and I were at choir practice when my father showed up at the door. He had been at home moving some plywood around outside, and he lost his balance and fell against the house. The outside of our house has rough shingles on it, so he scraped up his face, shoulder, and hand. On top of that, he discovered that he had left the door open by mistake, and my cat got out. So we went home and took care of my father and looked for my cat. We havenít found him yet, so Iím hoping heíll show up during the night. We have a cat door that goes out to our screen porch, so we propped open the outside screen porch door so he can come in to the porch and come in the cat door. I hope that as it gets colder tonight heíll want to come inside. Today I am thankful that my father wasnít hurt very bad when he fell.

Hello Thankful Friends -

emoticon Congratulations on Super Team Work emoticon

My huge thankfulness today is having a massage. My body is happy, happy. I hadn't realized just how tight my muscles had become. I came home, put dinner in the oven to cook and fell asleep!

My migraine is gone. Turns out lots of people have been reporting "sick" headaches -- it is being associated with the toxins in the air that were released when cars and houses burned.

Cathy - I'm happy you were able to have some time with your family - even though the weather wasn't all that cooperative. It's that time of year, isn't it? And the time for memories. You are doing so many lovely things to help you celebrate and remember. I love the Nutcracker - how lucky to now be where you can go see it.

Amanda - I know what you mean about dealing with ice. We get that a lot here in the NW because our snow tends to be very wet. We either get freezing rain or snow thaws a bit and then re-freezes overnight. Sorry your sis is still without power. Glad they could get warm at your house. Amazing how good a warm shower feels when you've been that cold.
Yay - getting more sleep. Sure makes a difference.

Alice - Hope you and yours are safe and well.

Hope - What a blessing to be near your family and be able to share together. Was it fun playing with the other bell choir? They value your skills - it's not easy being a substitute.

Hello Thankful Turkeys!

Way to go team! Everyone did a great job coming together as a team to help us win week 2!!

Today, after breakfast I decided to exercise so that tomorrow before class I wouldn't have to before class tomorrow. I'd like to at least get some walking in before class. Randy's dad called this morning before breakfast. He's just bored and wanted someone to talk to. We forgot to bathe the birds though. Hopefully, Tuesday we can give them a bath. The food I ordered from Boston Market is supposed to be here Wednesday night.

I'm glad that it was warmer today. Next Saturday and Sunday the weather isn't going to be so nice. We still have snow on the ground from a few days ago but down where my mom lives they don't have any snow on the ground. I have an appointment Friday morning to get my yearly mammogram and then Friday afternoon we have tickets to go to see the Nutcracker ballet. Last time this year Randy had just had his cataract surgery. He was amazed at what he could see. That's why we're going to try to make going to the Nutcracker ballet a tradition. Also, it reminds of the things we missed when we lived in Missouri.

Today, I am thankful to not have to worry about every penny we spend.

Amanda - Good work getting in over 10,000 steps yesterday and today. That's great you got almost 6 hours of sleep last night! I hope you continue to get more sleep in. I hope that the rain/sleet doesn't knock out your electricity. I'm glad you were able to spend time with your sister, BIL and nephews yesterday.
I too am glad I got to spend some time with my family. You're right, ice is so much worse than snow. I know we used to get ice storms when we lived in Missouri. It knocked out our electricity several times. I'm glad your mom and the area she is in finally got their electricity back.

Hope - That's nice of you to substitute for another person playing handbells in another handbell choir. I'm glad you and your family had a nice lunch together. It's nice to live in the same town as relatives so you can get together often.
Yeah, I was really bummed that we had to cut my time with my family short. I'm glad we got home safely before it iced over.

CJ - I hope your migraine is gone now and that you felt better today.

Alice - I hope you had a relaxing weekend!

Hello, Thankful Turkeys! This morning I played handbells at two church services. I was substituting in another handbell choir that Iím not a member of. After church I went out to eat with my family. We had a nice time. Today I am thankful that my parents, my aunt, my sister, my nephew, and I all live in the same town so we can get together on a regular basis.

Cathy Ė Iím glad you had a nice time with your family. Thatís too bad that you had to cut it short, but itís good that you got home safely before it iced over.

CJ Ė Iím sorry about your migraine. I know that really hurts. I hope itís better today. Thatís good that you had medicine for it.

Amanda Ė Good job getting over 10,000 steps the past two days! Iím glad you were able to sleep better, too.

Alice Ė I hope you had a good weekend.

Hello Thankful Turkeys! I didnt really do anything other than milk cows this morning. I did get over 10000 steps both yesterday and today. I got a over 5 (almost 6) hours of sleep last night, which is alot more than i have been getting! My internet is running so slow tonight! Its been raining/sleeting for the last couple hours so that could be why im having problems.

Today Im thankful I got to spend time with my sister, BIL, and nephews yesterday!

Cathy- Glad you got to spend some time with your family. Ice is so much worse than snow. We just had a ice storm last week, it did so much damage, especially around my Moms who lives a couple hours away. They just there electric back after 2.5 days and my sister still doesnt have hers.

CJ- Im sorry you are dealinf with a migraine. They are the worse. Glad the meds you have are helping. I think i fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow last night which never happens! I defintly feel better today with more sleep

Hope- Good for you for signing up for exercise classes with your mom! My sister just came for a few hours, I got them dinner, we had pizza and subs and I made homemade soup also. And they got showers, and got warm and enjoyed electricity. They still dont have it today, its almost 3 days now!

Good job everyone on winning week 2

Hello Thankful Turkeys,

We went to my mom's house this afternoon. Unfortunately, we weren't able to stay long. Before we left our house it was raining but it was turning to ice. My mom lives around 20 miles south of us. It wasn't really doing much at her house when we got there. My sister, BIL, niece, nephew-in-law, great niece and great nephew all came up from the city south of us around 30 - 40 miles south of my mom's house. We left shortly after dessert because we were afraid it was going to be icy on the roads up here. My great nephew is such a good little boy and very much a boy. lol He had fun having me chase after him. lol My great niece is so incredibly adorable. I think I forgot to mention that my niece is pregnant again. She is due in May, she thinks. She's showing quite a bit already. Someone mentioned that she thinks she might be carrying twins because of how much she is showing already. Anyway, it was so nice to see everyone. That is one thing that I really missed when we lived in Missouri. I may not have missed it so much if Randy's mom had still been alive. She always made a huge fuss about Thanksgiving and Christmas. Randy's dad is going to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving to be with Randy's oldest brother and his wife. Not sure if Randy's 2nd oldest brother and girlfriend will go too or not. They just very recently moved to Oklahoma and I'm not sure how far they are from Randy's oldest brother.

Last year, Randy had a friend make me some custome made jewelry for Christmas. Unfortunately, he has a full time job and does it on the side. I just received them in the mail today. I'll have to post pictures of them tomorrow.

Today, I am thankful that I was able to spend a little time with my family and that we got back home safely before everything started to turn to ice.

CJ - Isn't it wonderful to have choices?! I am thankful that we too have many choices of what to eat, what to listen to and where to go. When you live in a rural area like we did, your choices are much more limited. I'm glad you have choices! I hope you got the sleep you've been needing.
Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to hear about the stabbing pain in your right eye. I'm really sorry that the flickering of the sun in your eyes brought on a migraine. I'm glad to hear that you had some migraine meds on hand and that they were helping already. That's good that you don't have them very often. I know some people have them often. Good news about your air quality improving. I hope they get a little bit of rain to help with fighting the fires but not so much that they end up with mud slides since there's no brush or trees to hold back the water.
Yum, the layered pumpkin cheesecake bars sound good. Most people do like pumpkin, so it should go over well, I would think. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it does!

Amanda - I'm sorry you got such little sleep last night before your sister and her family came over today. Wow, that's not good to have so many people without electricity when it's so cold outside. Oh my gosh, 42 is really cold! I too hope the power companies can get electricity restored to everyone soon. Yes, all three of those things can easily be taken for granted. I hope you get more sleep tonight.

Hope - That's wonderful that you and your mom signed up for two exercise classes. I hope both of you enjoy the yoga and tai chi classes. That's so awesome that your parks and rec department offers so many classes at a reasonable cost.
I too hope our friend can fix my monitor. We did have a nice Thanksgiving together! It was so nice to be with all of them, even though it was for such a short amount of time.

Alice - I hope you haven't lost power or heat and that you and your hubby are safe.

Hello Thankful Friends - I've had a stabbing pain in my right eye since yesterday. We had bright sunshine and it was really hard to drive because the sun kept flickering. The flashing brought on a full blown migraine. It'a thankful I am that I already had the migraine meds and it's feeling better already. I'm also thankful that it has been a while since I've had one - so long that I didn't recognize it in the first stages.

Good news - our air quality alert has been moved from red (severe) to yellow. People in California are not so forunate

Hope - I'm glad you and your mom found these exercise classes. I like both tai chi and yoga - I hope you enjoy them too. What a blessing that your parks and rec offers these for the community.

Amanda - thanks for the reminder of how valuable it is to have power - so easy to take it for granted. I hope your area gets the electric restored quickly - 42 degrees is too cold for indoors. You must be super tired after so little sleep. Let's both sleep better tonight. Okay?

Cathy - I'm thinking of you as you and your family celebrate Thanksgiving together. Our friends sent a recipe for layered pumpkin cheesecake bars that they would like me to bring. Sounds good. I always get a bit nervous making something new for company. I'm guessing if it has pumpkin - people will like it. hope, hope.

Alice - I hope you all have power and heat. Take care.

Hello, Thankful Turkeys! I forgot to tell you yesterday that my mother and I signed up for two exercise classes. Our city parks and recreation department offers quarterly classes, and we signed up for yoga and tai chi. The classes are for the winter quarter, so they start in December. The yoga class meets twice a week, and the tai chi class is once a week. Itís a tai chi for beginners class, because neither one of us has ever done tai chi before. Today I am thankful that our parks and rec department offers so many classes at a reasonable cost.

Amanda Ė Iím sorry you only got two hours of sleep last night. Itís hard to function on so little sleep. I hope you get a good nightís sleep tonight. Iím sorry your sister and her family lost their electricity, but thatís good that they have you to stay with.

CJ Ė Youíre right, itís great that we have so many choices in our lives.

Cathy Ė Thatís great that your friend might be able to fix your monitor. I hope he can. I hope you and your family had a nice Thanksgiving together!

Alice Ė I hope you had a good day today!

Hello Thankful Turkey! Im so tired tonight! I only got a little over 2 hours of sleep last night, then my sister and her family came today. They still dont have electric. Her area was the hardest hut from the ice storm, theres still I think over 20,000 people without electric since late thursday\early friday. My moms house was 42 this moning! I hope the power companies can get the electric restored soon for all these people without.

Today Im thankful for having electric, heat and water. Three things we can easily take advantage of.

Im really really tired, getting up at 4 am is rough. Ill catch up with everyone tomorrow! Hope everyone had a great saturday!
