Hello Friends,

Today I called and made an appointment with the endocrinologist that I was referred to a few weeks ago. I have an appointment in March to see this new doctor. I hope I like her and that I feel like she will be a good doctor for me. At least she is a board certified endocrinologist.

Not much else to report on here. Still working on our website and trying to get it to do what I want it to do.

I will be lurking around next month but won't be participating in the challenges. I hope all of you have a fun, fantastic February!

Char - Don't worry about your points. You did your best under the circumstances and that is what matters most. Besides, it's not about the points, it's about doing your best to live a healthy lifestyle. You are a work in progress, as all of us are and you've been dealing with Camden being sick along with your shoulder bothering you. Sorry your girls weekend didn't happen. Maybe it can be rescheduled? It was a pleasure hanging out with you this month too.
Thank you for the good wishes on my surgery, bruise and getting our website.

Linda - I enjoyed spending the month chatting with you. Sorry to hear it will be another week before the loo is fitted. At least you have other bathrooms you can use. I hope the lift is coming along well.
Thank you, I too hope I get better before the 10th. Darn, I hope either the Botox injections help or that you'll get put on a marijuana trial. They need to do something to help you with your pain. I know how difficult it is to live in chronic pain.

Latisha - I enjoyed spending the month with you as well. I know you are committed to shedding the weight and living a healthier lifestyle. That is why I know you'll kick that extra weight to the curb for good. I hope that some of the help you've sought out for the boys will end up being a big help and that it will make life easier/better for all of you. I'll be keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

I will miss chatting with all of you next month but I hope all of you have a successful February!!

Hello , it has been great spending time with you all maybe I will see you next month.
We will not have our new loo fitted until Thursday it is not ideal but we have been in a worse messes before and maybe again I have not seen how far they have got with the lift yet,
@ Cathy I hope get better before the 10th I wish you a speedy recovery
There is a very slim chance I maybe eligible for the marijuana trials because of my head injury but I doubt it will come to anything I am hoping they are going to offer me the botox injections apparently they can give a couple of pain free months at a time

Hello Friends,

I'm a little sad that our time together this month is already over. I enjoyed chatting with all of you this month! I may not be on SP much next month with my surgery coming up on the 10th. I will try to stop in and post on the team wall or read a blog here and there. I hope February is a fantastic month for all of you! I'll still post in here until Hope posts the challenges for next month.

Since Monday I've gone back to eating 3 meals and 2 snacks a day and watching my carbs. I'm feeling better about things now that I'm eating like this. The intermittent fasting just wasn't working for me.

I used my under desk elliptical a couple of times today for a minute each. I want to do a little something and I feel like I'm not pushing myself too much to do it. I'm glad I've decided to not do other exercising though until I'm feeling better. I still have several more days of antitibiotics left.

Char - Good for you getting on the bike after Camden went to bed. I hope your chiropractor appointment goes well tomorrow. I'm sorry you have to work back to back shifts. That's nice your son was able to help you at your cleaning job today.
I'm glad that you and the others think that I should rest since my surgery is coming up so soon.

Linda - I'm glad your budgies are happy and that they keep you company. That's more important than anything else. I imagine they do keep Blue amused too. That's funny that he tries to chirp like them.
I suppose it could be a burst blood vessel but it's awfully big to be a burst blood vessel. Thank you, I too hope Randy and I get better soon. I hope the laws in the U.K. change soon so that you can try it to see if it will help you.

Latisha - I'm sorry your BP was slightly higher. Sometimes something like that is the motivation we need to really commit to shedding the weight. I have faith that you can do it! That's nice your husband is able to take the boys to school in the morning since you have to be at work earlier. Good work doing your ST and stretches. I'm sure you will meet your step goal before bedtime. I didn't sleep well last night either. I hope you have a better night's sleep tonight.
Thank you, my friend! I plan on taking your advice and I appreciate the prayers!

I will total my points tomorrow afternoon! Goodnight friends... emoticon

emoticon Happy Thursday! Today was another long day. I worked a full day, picked up my boys and had to go to my 3-month doctor appointment for my blood pressure check. Unfortunately, my blood pressure was slightly higher today 147/88 primarily due to stress and emotional eating. I'm going to commit to really work hard at eating less and losing weight to help with my numbers. I do not want to be on medication for the rest of my life. Furthermore, I don't want to get any other ailments - asthma, lymphedema, anxiety/depression, and high blood pressure are enough. Tomorrow I have to be at work earlier for a workshop and my hubby is taking the boys to school which helps me a lot in the morning. I just finished washing 2 loads of clothes. I did not do a walk workout, but I did do my strength exercises and stretches. I will meet my daily step goal before bedtime, I am so close. Unfortunately, I did not meet my sleep goal last night which sucks. I tossed and turned all night. It has been a pleasure spending this time with you this month.

I will submit our points tomorrow evening. so please post your points earlier in the day if you can.

Linda - Thank you for your points. Hopefully, the laws will change in your area so you can feel better soon!

Char - Great job riding your bike for exercise. Hope your appointment goes good for you. You're going to be busy this weekend. I've nerve been to Texas, I hope you enjoy yourself.

Cathy - Rest, Rest, Rest!!! You need to prepare your body for your upcoming surgery. Sending prayers your way.

@ Cathy I was thinking about your leg could it be a burst blood vessel? About your cough it took me ages to get rid of mine too it came back twice I hope you and Randy get better soon
@ Char the laws on medicinal marijuana here in the U K are very strict it has only recently been available to prescribe to a very few people I am not one of them unfortunately

I was able to get on the bike after Camden went to bed but I didn't put any tension on it. I feel really sleepy but I feel at this point better not. I have another chiropractor appt tomorrow. So no sleeping in. 3 to 11 tonight. 3 to 11 tomorrow. 7 to 3 Saturday sho back to back shift. Yawn. I'm tired just thinking about it. My son helped me at my cleaning job today. It was a big help.I don't think my arm could have taken the vacuuming and cleaning3 bathrooms.

Cathy yeah I think it's best if you rest for a couple of days. Especially if your surgery is coming up so soon. You need your rest.

I'll check in tonight after everyone is in bed if I'm all caught up with paperwork and such. Helps me stay awake. emoticon

Hello Peppy Penguins!

It seems as though when I start to feel better then the next day I feel like I have no energy again. We both are still coughing up stuff. I think I'm going to hold off on exercising until I'm feeling better. My surgery is only a week and a half away and I need to be better before then.

I worked on the website today but I also took a nap.

Randy had to go get his teeth cleaned this morning. He went in to work for a while too. I guess he's going to have to start going in to work again. He talked like he'd only have to go in for a few hours a day though.

Linda - Oh no, poor Blue! I can see why he would get spooked easily. I'm glad he only lost an eye and part of a foot. I'm also glad he has you and Steve to love him and care for him. Our birds wouldn't let us put a harness or flight suit on them. Daffy especially wouldn't. The lady that was breeding cockatiels didn't have a clue as to what she was doing and I think her husband would bang on the cage when they would get noisy. To this day, if Randy puts a plaid shirt on he instantly hates him. All he sees is the plaid and he'll fly at Randy. The woman would also use a welding glove to take them out of their cages. He has always hated fingers and hands! He'll get on your arm but only if he wants to.

Char - I'm glad Camden is feeling better and had a good day. Oh man, sorry to hear about your tendonitis. The difference between J. Lo, Paula Abdul and you is that they can afford the best food they could possibly get. They probably have personal trainers and nutritionists helping them out. I hope the exercises and ice help.
How fun and exciting to book your trip to Texas. I'm sorry your mom has decided to not go. That's a big bummer.
Thanks, I too hope the bruise is nothing to worry about. The medical marijuana ointment I have helps with the pain so it's not too bad. I will keep you posted.
I hope you are able to get on the bike after you put Camden to bed.

Latisha - I hope you had a good day today!

Just another day of not getting on here. Ugh. Camden is better and excited too get back to school. He had a good day. I went to the chiropractor after about a month of not being able to move my arm back without pain. Turns out I have tendinitis of the bicep. Right of course cause I'm right handed. No what I did. For all I know I could have toweled of to vigorously. Good gravy. How sad. We have J. Lo and Paula Abdul my age kicking but all over the stage and then there's me knocking out a hip poring my underwear on. Ridiculous. Any way.More visits, exercises, ice.
Booked my tickets for Texas today. Believe it or not this is the1st I've ever booked a flight. I had a major panic attack. Picking seats, flights, etc. It's a lot of money. This morning I had to call Delta because Travelocity and Delta was giving me2 different types of information. Very stressful. But glad I called. Now my mom has decided not to go. I

Linda I think you of all people should be able to get on the medical marijuana. I'm in the process of doing the work to do it for one of our residents but the paperwork here in Mn is ridiculous. They should just legalize marijuana and be done with it. And that's coming from a nurse of34 years. The only thing I say don't smoke and drive. Same as don't drink and drive, don't take pain pills and drive.

Latisha to bad the shoes aren't as comfortable as they are cute. But you got to show them off for one day.So now your hubby can take you out and show them off!😁 Is prefer to start early and be off early but that doesn't happen with my3 to 11 shifts. Some times I get some me time in the morning though.

Cathy I hope the bruise is nothing to worry about. I'm sorry that it is painful.keep us updated.

Well have a good night. This has not been a good week for points thus far.I'm going to try and get on my bike for a bit after getting Camden to bed. Have a good night all!

Hello Peppy Friends,

These last few days have been super busy. I'm trying to get to bed earlier so I'm going to attempt to keep this short.

Yesterday, I didn't go to the Y for swimming but I did do some walking at a brisk pace around the house and did my PT exercises. I probably won't get to the exercises tonight though since I want to go to bed early.

I made an appointment next week to see my primary care physician about the big bruise on my leg. It doesn't feel like I've torn anything but that's kind of what the bruise looks like on my leg. It's bigger than a softball but smaller than a volleyball. It's pretty painful to the touch too.

Char - My sinus infection is better. Thank you for asking. I'm still dealing with a little bit of chest congestion though. That's the way it is with me. I bruise myself but never know how I did it. Depending upon the cockatiel that might have been there way of saying that they like you. lol They're funny birds like that.
Glad you had a great weekend even though you had to battle your friend over the thermostat. I'm sorry to hear that Camden has the flu. That's a bummer to come home to him being sick. Tamiflu should help him get over being sick quicker. I hope he feels better soon. I get the flu shot every year because I have an autoimmune disorder and it's super easy for me to get sick. Good luck getting everything disinfected.

Linda - I'm glad your budgies have a cage big enough for them to fly around in since they haven't been handled. Do you take Blue out of his cage or does Steve take him out? Thank you, I too hope the meds clear my infection up quickly. It seems to have cleared it up for the most part. Oh, I understand what the lift is for now. I'm sorry you had to take all of the money from your savings to help pay for it and that this year will be your last cruise. I'm sorry, also, that you can't use the hot tub because you can't get out.
It is hard to believe this is the last week of this month. The challenges do make the time fly by. That's funny about Blue. I'm sorry he was so startled about being woke up earlier than normal. Sorry to hear that the loo in the en-suite is gone but thankfully you have 2 others you can use.
I hope the neurologist will offer you botox for the pain or that they can figure something else out. Being in constant pain really does take a toll on you. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you. I use medical marijuana for my back when it gets out of alignment. Is medical marijuana legal there in the UK? It would be nice if they would like you try it out.

Latisha - It's nice to be left alone to do your work. It sounds like you are learning a lot. I'm glad you are enjoying it still. Sorry that your cute new shoe boots won't work for doing lots of walking throughout the day. WTG getting almost 8 hours of sleep, getting your workout in too. It's definitely nice to have some extra time between getting off and picking the boys up from school.
It is hard to get your exercise in while sitting in front of the computer looking at tutorials. Thank you for making me realize I need to give myself some slack.
Wow, it sounds like you had a really busy day with the workshop, taking care of various projects, sorting paperwork on your desk and so on. I'd be exhausted too if I were you. I hope you have a great night's sleep and wake up refreshed in the morning though.

emoticon Happy Tuesday! Today I had to drop the boys off at school early so I can make it to work early. I have to be honest, I am very tired. I prepped for our workshop at 7:30am and then I took care of various projects until the workshop was over at 3pm, then I went to have the teachers sign out. After I sorted paperwork on my desk, I left the office an hour earlier than my normal work schedule. I ran some errands and stopped in a few stores just to browse. I picked up my boys from school and we went straight home. I did my workout and stretches. We ate dinner and I started Sparking. After I post this, I am going to bed to start this all over again. Have a wonderful night.

Linda - Yes, the challenges make the months and weeks go by real fast. Good luck with your first neurologist appointment. I'll be praying for you to get solutions for your pain. Currently, I work in the education field. I am a secretary and I support 5 science consultants. I manage science related workshops for teachers in our county. Tons and tons of paperwork, typing, organizing, planning, etc.

Cathy & Char - Hope all is well with all of you!

Hello Penguins I cannot believe it is our last week this month . These challenges make the time fly by, Well we had a very early morning well I thought it was early we were up and in the kitchen by 8 o`clock poor Blue had shock when we woke him so early he shouted and shouted until I gave him a banana chip he has got used to the late mornings too! emoticon Happy Monday! I had a busy work day as usual. I am working alone now which is always nice. I have to ask questions concerning new requests or things I have not been trained on yet, but I am catching on to the overall job. I am still enjoying the job very much. I bought some new shoe boots last weekend and wore them today. They are very cute and comfortable, but are not made for a lot of walking throughout the day. Needless to say, I will not be wearing them tomorrow. You live and you learn. I almost got 8 hours of sleep last night which is great. I completed a nice workout this evening. I'm waiting on the load of clothes that's in the dryer and I will be going to bed. I have to wake up earlier, drop the boys off earlier, and arrive to work earlier to setup a workshop. The good thing is I get off work earlier as well. Now, I just have to figure out what to do until the boys get out of school. This is a good problem to have.

Linda - That's awesome to have someone you can trust living with you. Sounds like you're helping one another out. Such a blessing!

Char - Oh no, sorry Camden is sick after you returned from your trip. Hope he feels better soon.

Cathy - Sorry to hear about your bruise. Check with your doctor. It's hard to get in your exercise when you're sitting in front of a computer looking at tutorials. Give yourself some slack. That's what happens when I am writing for my blog or doing my Sparking.

emoticon Latishia . Frank is not our son he is our lodger and good friend the council pay us his rent he is part of our family he has been living with us for years he stays in his room most of the time he loves gardening and he is very handy to have around helping out also he is a great house sitter.
@ Cathy our budgies stay in their cage it is big so they can fly about they aren't tame Blue has 2 cages one in the front room and the other in the kitchen with me he also has a table stand we put it on my computer table he spends most of day by me, I hope your new meds clear your infection quickly
The lift they are building is in the garage when we moved in we built a ramp from the side door in the garage it is very steep but we have managed fo all these years and now we have access though the kitchen but still they say I need a lift so the ramp has gone and I will have a lift fitted the thing we do not like we had to pay something towards it and it has taken all our savings so this years cruise will be our last, I have not been in the hot tub for a long time I can get in but I cannot get out

Cathy I hope your sinus infection is better. We have a lady that bruises easily at work. We ask her how she got it and she never knows unless one of us sees her do it.some times they are pretty big. My mom had cockatiel s they always dive bombed me when I'd go over to her house.

Latisha busy as always. Thanks for doing points. One of the night gals made turkey lasagna at work.It was a big hit.good job hitting your hitting your sleep goals

Linda oh my goodness! Did they catch the guys that threw the brick? That's insane! A life changing event.

Congrats to the playful polar bears

Well the weekend was awesome! Went to fast as usual. I battle my friend over the thermostat. She likes it cold. I like it warm. I got home and Shoot brought Camden to the Dr he has influenza b. Never seen him so sick. So I'm home with him today. Scott tomorrow. I'm off on Wed. He's on tamiflu so we'll see how things go. It's spreading like wild fire and of coarse it's not the strain that was in the flu shot to protect people. That's why I don't believe in the flu shot. It's a creep shoot. They guess on the strain and that's what they put in it.

Well I'm washing laundry and trying to disinfect everything I can. Neither Scott or I can afford to be sick. As most people.

Hello Peppy Penguins!

I have felt exhausted all day today. I slept well but I still felt tired after I got up. I thought maybe after having a cup of tea or cup of cappuccino that I'd feel better but it didn't help. I also happened to notice that I have a huge bruise on the inside of my right leg below the knee. I have no idea how I did it. I bruise very easily because of one of the meds I am on for the rest of my life but still, it's not like me to get a bruise that big.

Today, we gave the birds their weekly bath/shower. They always feel much better afterwards. I vacuumed the top level of the house before Randy bathed them. Then I had to wipe down their cages afterwards so that they don't rust. I am trying to finish up the last set of tutorials in the series and then I'll start working on the website. Needless to say, I didn't get any exercise in. I'm hoping that maybe I'll get some walking in around the house before going to bed. Tomorrow, I hope I feel better so that I can go swimming.

Linda - It sounds like you had a really busy day. What is the lift for? Is it to help you stand, to get you into your chair or to get you into the hot tub?
That's funny about you having visions of our birds diving into our friends laps for a tickle. Daffy might land on one or two people's shoulders to be cuddled but Peep wouldn't. Peep is a momma's boy and won't even hardly let Randy pick him up. lol Also, Dave, a good friend and company partner is kind of a big oaf. He's not very observant and he could easily accidentally step on one of the birds or accidentally let them outside.

Latisha - Good work getting your Renew Inspiration blog done, getting your walk workout in yesterday and today. Sorry you missed your sleep goal today but you're still doing well with your goal. We stayed up extremely late last night too. I've never had turkey lasagna but I imagine it's good.
It was definitely a winner and something I want to make again soon. I think having so much company over yesterday and doing so much last minute cleaning on Friday really wore me out. I was feeling too tired to do my exercises today. I'm hoping to get more sleep tonight and will feel better tomorrow so that I can do them and go swimming.

Char - I hope you had a great weekend getaway with your friend!

emoticon Happy Sunday! I did not get to post on here yesterday. I took my boys to their art class and then I ran a few errands (fruit market and office supplies store). Once we got home, I continued laundry and started writing for my Renew Inspiration blog. I completed my walk workout yesterday and today. I made my sleep goal yesterday, but not today. I stayed up extremely too late. Today, I woke up early to put the finishing touches on my blog post. When the boys woke up I had to go to the grocery store to buy ingredients for turkey lasagna. It was delicious! I tossed a salad as well. I cleaned the kitchen and watched the Pro Bowl with my boys. Now, I am Sparking and then going to bed earlier than normal.

Linda - Wow, you guys are moving a lot today. Glad your son and his girlfriend's family are feeling better.

Cathy - Sounds like your soup was a winner at your meeting - Yummy! Glad you got some rest and you're feeling better. I hope you were able to do PT exercises today.

Char - I hope you enjoyed your weekend!

Hello Peppy Penguins!

It's been a long day! We had our bi-monthly company meeting. We kept the birds in their cages because it's safer (don't want them to accidentally get hurt or fly out the door or something else). They weren't too happy about it though. lol I heated up the leftover chicken and barley soup. It was a big hit and a couple of people had 2 bowls of it. It's one of those soups that is even better the next day. Everyone arrived around 1 pm and left around 7 or 7:30. We always like to sit around and talk about other things after the meeting itself is done.

We both were feeling tired and decided to take a nap afterwards. I got up a little while ago because I have to take another dose of antibiotics along with the other medications I take daily. I still have a slight headache but I think it'll feel better if I use the Neti pot before I go to bed. I felt much closer to normal today though for the first time in a week and a half.

Linda - Wow, sorry to hear everyone has been so sick. Being sick isn't fun and it seems like everything kind of gets put on hold too. I know you're always in a lot of pain. I'm glad that you are going to the pain clinic and they are helping you find ways to deal with the pain. Everyone is different and I'm glad you found something that worked to help you feel better. I don't think I've ever used a nebulizer. Thank you for the get well wishes!

Latisha - I hope you had a good day and was able to accomplish a lot!

Char - I hope you are having a great time with your BFF.

Hello Peppy Penguins,

I'm sorry I didn't get in here yesterday. I wasn't feeling well and didn't have any energy. I finally called this morning to see if I could get in to see the doctor. I was able to get in to see the physician assistant. She ruled out pneuomonia and flu and didn't feel like I had strep but that I did have a sinus infection. She gave me an antibiotic for that, told me to use flonase, nasal rinse such as a neti pot and told me to get some Mucinex DM. I'm feeling a little better tonight.

Other than that I cleaned both bathrooms upstairs, made a pot of chicken & barley soup. Went to the grocery store to pick up some other groceries.

I'm hoping that by Sunday I'll feel up to doing my PT exercises again. I called the doctor's office about what time my surgery is on the 10th but I guess I won't find out until the Friday before the surgery. They'll call me the Thursday before to get my medical history and other info. Then they'll call me again on Friday to let me know what time my surgery is. I've never had surgery where they do it like that. It seems so strange to me.

Char - My surgery is 2 weeks from Monday. Thanks, I think I'm finally getting somewhere now that I have the antibiotics and am doing the other stuff the PA said to do. I hadn't thought about it but you're right, I probably am working my abs some with the swivel chair. I love to read to but I never seem to have time. I love getting lost in a book too.
I hope you have a great relaxing time this weekend with your BFF.
Sorry to hear your humidifier quit working last night. Our whole house humidifier wasn't working hardly at all for a while but then he got it fixed.

Latisha - WTG meeting your sleep goals. It can be fun to learn new things. Enjoy your day off. Thank you, I'm finally starting to feel a bit better now.
It's nice when you get to sleep in and feel really rested. Good work meditating this morning. I need to do that more often. You certainly had a busy day with making phone calls, having the electrician come over, going grocery shopping and doing lots of cooking.
Thank you for turning the points in for our team.

Linda - Yeah, I have no idea who my anesthesiologist is. This surgery isn't being done at the the hospital. The doctor's office has a surgery center in the same building. I've never met the doctor himself. I've only met his physician assistant.

emoticon Happy Friday! Today it felt great to sleep in. I almost slept 8 hours and I really needed the sleep. I woke up and spent some time in meditation. I started laundry and then started making phone calls. I called about my son's paperwork again and I received it today via email. Then, I called a local electrician to replace our kitchen and bathroom lights. After he completed the project, me and my boys left the house to pick up our groceries. It rained all day. I made the boys Hamburger Helper and tacos. I tossed myself a salad using power greens and ate some air fried chicken. I also put some beef short ribs in the slow cooker and they smell amazing. I did my walk workout today and I currently have 13,230 steps. I submitted our points for the week as well.

Cathy - Thanks for posting your points tonight.

Linda - Sorry to hear about your accident.

Char - Safe travels. Hope you get some sleep tonight. Great job with eating no chocolate.

Latisha enjoy your day off

Linda great points I’ll try and hop on later tonight but maybe I’ll be whooping it up lol. Party like a senior citizen.

Cathy hope you had a great night.

Our humidifier quit working last night so my nose plugged up and my tongue dried out like a cat tongue so I woke up around 3:30 or 4am and had a hard time falling back to sleep. Maybe I’ll be able to take a nap today. I have the day off and I cleaned my house Wed so I can be some what lazy. Still have to pack but that should take all off about 10 minutes

Have a great day all!

My points this week is 1715 ! Best points ever! And I didn’t eat chocolate all week long and I kicked up my veggies intake, stayed out of the cookie tray at work, and I put my drum set back together and plan to play them today since I have the day off. Happy about the changes I’m making praying that they stick.

emoticon Happy Thursday! I met my sleep goal last night and it felt great. I took the boys to school and went to work. I had a training session today and I learned a lot of new information. Then, I had to finish up a few projects because I am taking a vacation day tomorrow because they boys have a no school day. I plan to sleep in, do laundry, grocery shop, and spend some time writing. I did my walk workout kind of late tonight, but I did it. I made my step goal tonight as well. Better late than never. I am so tired, I am going to sleep after posting this.

emoticon Please remember to POST your weekly points and I will submit them.

Linda - Hope you sleep better tonight my friend.

Char - Yes, therapy helps me cope with every day stress, anxiety depression, grief, family problems, etc. Enjoy your time away. Your hubby will have his hands full.

Cathy - It's too bad you're still experiencing cold symptoms. Feel better soon!

Cathy when is your surgery? I hope you see relief from your cold soon. Your probably getting a work out on your abs as well with the swivel chair. It’s good your taking some time for your self to read a book. I love to read. One favorite part time is getting lost in a book

Latisha I agree we need to continue to fight for our kids. It’s great you are taking care of yourself as well by talking it out with a therapist. Camden’s therapist talks with me 1st to see how things are going and a couple times she’s spent longer time with me than him. Today I bought some chalk paint. We are going to paint one of his walls so we can write the days schedule on there His therapist said kids on the spectrum do better with visuals and then he can draw on the other half of the wall.

Linda no worries about the points. It’s not about that. It’s about team with, personal growth, and having people to lean on and vent to when needed. I hope the other couple works out. Maybe they were the ones that were meant to be. If you don’t mind me asking what kind of Accident were you In? If you don’t want to talk about it I understand.

Well I work this afternoon then the weekend off! Yay!
Latisha Scott my husband will be watching Camden, the dog, and the goats.

Hope you all have a good night.
Still no chocolate 😁

Hello Friends,

I didn't do a whole lot today except that I talked to the surgery center to confirm that I wanted to go ahead with the surgery. I also set up the post-op appointment for a few days later. The post-op appointment is so that the doctor can go over how things went with the surgery and discuss with me when I should start physical therapy as well as give me a referral to hehab facility.

I'm thankful my sinuses aren't bothering me as much today. I think I'll use the neti pot before going to bed though since that always seems to help. I want this cold to be gone so that I can get back to exercising.

I did take a break from the tutorials today and started reading a book I got for my Kindle. I needed to take some time out for me.

Char - Sinus flushes are good when you have sinus problems. I like the under the desk elliptical. I think I would like it better if my chair didn't swivel though.
I'm sorry Camden had a melt down. I hope that he'll adjust to the new medication and that eventually the side effects will not be so bad. You deserve the weekend getaway with your best friend. I hope you have a great time and get some relaxation in. Good work staying away from chocolate since last Friday.

Linda - Don't worry about your points. I'm sorry your friend doesn't want the bungalow now. Glad the other couple is still interested and willing to pay the asking price. Good job eating a banana to stop your sugar craving.
I wondered if your blindness was caused by the accident. Sorry to hear it's getting worse. My cockatiels are picky about what they'll eat. They like bits of banana but not much else when it comes to fruit.

Latisha - It sounds like you had a good day at work and it's always nice when you have a productive session with your therapist. Good work meeting your step goal. I hope you sleep better tonight. Thanks, I'm enjoying the website tutorials. Thanks, I hope I feel better soon too.

emoticon Happy Wednesday! Today was still cold, but the sun was shining. I dropped my boys off at school and went to work. I started my day off doing the sign in and setup for a Math Workshop. Then, I worked in the storage area for a bit pulling together some containers that a teacher will be picking up on Friday. The rest of my day was at the computer following up on projects and answering emails. Since I got to work early on Tuesday, I decided to leave earlier today so I can meet with my therapist. I had a good session talking about ways I can handle my anxiety, depression, frustration, anger, etc. Then, she gave me some good questions and keywords to use at my son's next appointment. When I got home, I did my walk workout so I could reach my daily steps. My hubby ordered Logan's Roadhouse for dinner. I was starving and I enjoyed my steak and mashed potatoes. I did not meet my sleep goal last night. I tossed and turned. Hopefully, I sleep better tonight.

Linda - That's okay about the points last week. Great job eating fruit to stop your sweet craving.

Char - Thank you for your kind words. It's so hard to fight for our children. They deserve the best treatment. I will continue to fight through my frustration. Who is watching Camden while you're away with your best friend? Time away really sounds good.

Cathy - Sorry you're having a hard time sleeping. Great job working on your website tutorials. Feel better real soon!

Hello . I am sorry to you all for forgetting my points last week,
My friend don't want the bungalow now she has found somewhere cheaper, so the other couple are still interested they are also offering the asking price.
I stopped my sugar craving with a banana this afternoon
@ Cathy apparently my blindness was caused by the accident but I never noticed it because my right eye do`s all the work only by having my eyes tested every 2 years by ,
the same optician over many years he has seen it get worse
Today Steve and I had the same breakfast and dinner Steve cooked beans on toast with cocktail sausages and grated cheese he never eats lunch so I had an apple and banana my normal lunch I have to share my fruit with the iguana and macaw!
@ Latishia I am glad you have made a complaint to the hospital I hope you get an apology at least

Cathy I hope your cold doesn't turn into a sinus infection. Shoot uses a sinus flush when he gets congested.I've never heard of an under the desk elliptical before just a bike. How interesting.let us know how you like it.

Linda It will be so nice to have a chair in each vehicle.you won't have too haul one from place to place. That works out great. Did the people move into the bungalow yet? Is that close to where you live? I'm not sure I ever asked that before.

Larissa how frustrating for you. I know how frustrating it is for us with Camden. It started in kindergarten and we are just now stating to make progress.Different tactics. Behavior notifications. IEP's We now have him in play therapy, adderrall for adhd, and recently repetitive for behavior \ anger management. The Zoloft made him more angry. The melt downs on guafacine was insane, we even tries cbc gummies. I think it helps that he's living with us now and not with our son. He had routine and structure and I'm not sure he'll ever get that with Brian and that's tough on all of us. So We're lucky in the fact that were working on this from such an early age you have a tougher row to hoe. Hugs and prayers to you. Good for you for taking the reins in your hands and taking charge because I know how exhausting it can be. I don't get a ton of help from my husband and even Lee's help from his Dad.

Well I feel bad I missed yet another day of getting on hee. After work got sucked in to recliner for about45 minutes then had to get Camden shooter then I had to deal with one of his bigger melt downs he's had in a couple weeks.of coarse it was bath night and Scott worked late. One of the side effects we've noticed with the new medication is he's more emotional. But it's quick flickers. He's quick to tear up but can easily be re directed. Worse when he's tired also a side effect of this medication. As much as I'm going to miss him and I'm sure I'll face time him I'm very much looking forward to my best friend and I going away for the weekend. Friday cannot come soon enough.

I have not had chocolate since last Friday add it is my trigger food but I make no promises over the weekend. I'm looking forward to good comfort food, hot tub, pajamas, a good book, sleep, and maybe a little shopping.

Well I hope you all Have a good day I work the3to11 shift today and tomorrow and I'm off Friday.yay!

Hello Peppy Penguins,

I had a hard time sleeping last night. The vegetable beef soup I had leftover upset my stomach a little for some reason. My nose was partially stuffy too. I woke up around 4 and didn't get back to sleep until around 7:30 this morning. I got up much later than I intended. I needed the rest though. I'm still tired even though I slept in late. I still felt a bit better today even with the lack of sleep.

Today, I worked mostly on going through more website tutorials. I'm hoping that tomorrow or the next day I'll be able to actually start on the website.

I did 30 seconds on the under the desk elliptical I bought a few times today. Randy took it out of the box and put it together for me last night.

Linda - That's so great that you are provided these wheelchairs as part of the National Health system. Here in the U.S. it would be very difficult to get more than 1 from your insurance company. Good idea to sell the one that you bought in a rush when you couldn't use the manual one anymore.
Thank you, I'm feeling a little bit better each day. I just need my energy to return. I've been almost completely blind (legally blind) in my right eye since I was a little kid. The brain tumor I had removed became so big that it pushed the right optic nerve out of shape.

Latisha - I'm so glad you called the hospital and complained. It's great that they gave you a list of other resources in your area that might be able to help. I'll be sure to keep my fingers crossed that one of them will be able to help you out. It's nice you are able to take off Friday to be with the boys while your hubby works. That's great to hear your work duties seem to be coming easier each day. I'm sure the people coming to the workshops appreciate you welcoming them and handingling questions/paperwork. Great job doing your workout. I think I overdid it yesterday and today; I'm pretty exhausted tonight. Thank you, my friend, I too hope I feel better real soon. You need to get buckwheat flour. I can usually find it at the local grocery store or Walmart. It's usually with pancake mixes, I think, or other flours. Bob's Red Mill usually has a package that comes with directions for pancakes. I hope you and your sons will end up liking the buckwheat pancakes. They taste great with fruit on top of them!
I love that quote you shared by Michele Obama! I really miss having such a loving, caring and just awesome people in the White House.

Char - I hope you and Camden had a good day today!

emoticon Happy Tuesday! Thank you for being a listening ear yesterday. I slept much better last night and plan to do the same tonight. During my lunch break I called the Children's Hospital to discuss my frustration and disappointment. The phone call generated a list of other resources in my area that may be able to help. I made a few phone calls today and made lots of notes to discuss with his current therapist and psychiatrist. Hopefully this week at school would be without incident since it is half days Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for Mid Terms, then no school on Friday. I took Friday off to be with the boys since my hubby works so I will follow-up with some of the resources to see what's next. Work was very busy, but my duties seem to be coming easier every day. I had a workshop this morning and another one tomorrow morning. I arrive earlier to great the workshop participants and get them signed in. I love welcoming the participants and handling questions/paperwork. Then, the rest of my day is on the computer. After work, I had to put gas in my car. Then, I came home. I did my walk workout and now I am Sparking.

Linda - Good news about your electric chairs. I spoke to someone today and they gave me another program in our area. Fingers crossed that we can send my son to the program real soon if we can figure out the logistics.

Cathy - Wow, you were so busy yesterday. You need to take your meds and rest. Hope you feel better real soon. I never heard of buckwheat pancakes. I'll have to look up the recipe and give them a try.

Char - Hope all is well with you today!

OMG! I am sorry I forgot my points. I now I was doing them and the computer went off and I did not go back to it
This morning was interesting they are giving me 2 new chairs a manual and a electric that will make 3 manual chairs one for each car and a spare because we do not use them in the house they stay in the cars and now we will have 3 electric chairs too, I think I can sell this one we only bought it in a rush we need a small electric chair because I could not use a manual any more
@ Latishia I am sadden by your comments on your hospital visit I you should complain no one should treated like that
@ Cathy I hope you feel better soon, I have new glasses too, apparently I am almost totally blind in my left eye

Hello Peppy Penguins,

I still don't really have any energy today. My chest congestion is getting better and now I don't feel like I have an elephant sitting on my chest. It has moved up to my sinuses though and having headaches from that. I used the Neti pot yesterday and will use it again before I go to bed because that always seems to help. Hoping to avoid going to the doctor about a sinus infection.

This morning I made some apple cinnamon steel cut oatmeal in the Instant Pot. I love that I can make a big batch and it will last for at least a week with the two of us eating it. Afterwards, I got ready to go to my eye doctor appointment. When I was done with that appointment I went across the hall to pick up my new prescription eyeglasses, went to the bank only to find out that they were closed for MLK day. I should have known they'd be closed but forgot that they observe all federal holidays. Stopped to get coffee, sit and talk with Randy for about 10 minutes before going to the UPS store to drop off some packages and then back home to get everything ready so we could put the birds to bed and then Randy went to Karate to observe since he's still not quite 100%.

I bought an under desk elliptical machine so that I can use it while sitting at my desk. I haven't taken it out of the package yet since my energy levels are still pretty low.

Latisha - It's nice to have a chill day when you are on the go all the time. It's always nice to be able to sleep in. I just made some buckwheat pancakes last Monday for breakfast. I heated up some frozen peaches and added a little bit of sweetener for the topping. I remember the first time I tried buckwheat pancakes and thought for sure I wouldn't like them but they were surprisingly good. You think you and your boys would be willing to try them? Meditating always makes me feel better. I should do it more often. Good work getting your laundry done. Hope you were able to get your walking workout in. Yay for not having anymore oatmeal raisin cookies to eat for yesterday.
Wow, that is really cold! It was above freezing here but not by a whole lot.
I'm so sorry you and your oldest son aren't getting the help that is needed. It's beyond frustrating that they aren't helping you. I simply can't understand why he/you aren't getting help. No need to be sorry for venting here. We are all here to support one another through the good and the bad. I can understand that you would be scared for him if he doesn't get the help he needs. I see all the time what happens to young black men and it's really scary.
Wow, you did a great job on your exercising today and a nice variety too. I'm sorry you didn't have a good night's sleep. I hope you get a better night's sleep tonight.

Linda - I'm glad you had a nice time visiting your cousin. That's funny that your cousin is so short and her husband is so tall. It's hard to resist sugar cravings at times. That's good that Steve is eating breakfast and a healthy one too.

Char - Thanks, things are getting better for us. Randy seems to be getting over his quicker than me but then he doesn't have an autoimmune disorder like me. ;-) Colds and the flu are both spreading like wildfire. I'm glad yours is much better.
Good work not eating chocolate 4 days in a row. It can be hard to kick the habit of eating when you aren't hungry. Keep working on it though and you'll get there.

emoticon Happy Monday! Today it was only 24 degrees all day. We had to take our oldest son to Children's Hospital for an evaluation. I was so upset with the lack of services offered to us. Their recommendations to see a Psychiatrist to discuss medication for mood disorder/defiant behaviors and this information is not even on the paperwork I just remembered them saying it and I questioned it. I am beyond frustrated with the system and the medical treatment that is provided to families who adopt children. I just started a new job and quite frankly I refuse to allow this child and his behaviors to interrupt my positive work flow. Sorry for venting here, but I get so angry that no one wants to help him/us, but as soon as he does something that is against the law, they will be ready to throw him in jail or worse, kill him. I'm just being honest and saying what I feel. Despite all of this, I had a good workout today via YouTube - Dance Workouts (2), TAEBO Workout, Walk Workout with Leslie Sansone. I made my daily steps plus some. Unfortunately, I did not make my sleep goal. I tossed and turned all night. I return to work so I will be going to bed quite early tonight.

Linda - Sounds like you enjoyed your Monday and you have a busy Tuesday ahead. Wishing you good thoughts when you check on your chair.

Char & Cathy - Hope you enjoyed your Monday!

Linda I hope your cold is getting better. How exciting that it will be someone that you know moving into the bungalow . That should give you a huge sigh of relief. Glad you are now able to enjoy Stan.

Cathy I hope things are getting better for you and your hubby. A double whammy . I agree people should stay home when they are sick. Colds are spreading like wild fire. Mine is much better.

Latisha sounds like you got alot accomplished even on your chill days. I had a chill day yesterday I accomplished moving my livingroom furniture around, taking an hour long bath, and shoot 3 naps in my chair. I did ride my recumbent in the evening for 30 minutes.

My trigger food is chocolate and I’m on day 4 of not eating chocolate. I’m really trying hard not to Eat when I’m not hungry . I do have things like rolls of sweets tarts they’re only 25 cals per serving. So that helps. I’m a work in progress.
Have a good night all.

Hello team,
We had a lovely drive out, after the frosty morning the sun was shining all day. We visited my cousin she has always been there for me and my family . it is funny she is just over 4 foot, her hubby is way over 6 foot but that`s love for you
Because we were out all afternoon I did not crave sugar Wendy made us a coffee and I had a macaroon so I suppose that kept my craving at bay. This morning we both had porridge, I have sultanas with mine Steve has honey too but hey he is getting there he is eating breakfast!
We have a very early start in the morning we have to be in the next town by 9.oclock to see about my new chair and next week they are starting on the lift I will be glad when it has all finished

emoticon Happy Sunday! Today it was a total chill day for me. I slept in a bit and it felt good. Then, I cooked pancakes and eggs for breakfast (my boys favorite). I cleaned the bathrooms and finished my last 2 loads of laundry. I spent time writing, praying, and meditating. Believe it or not, I still need to get in my work out for today. I have my walk work out DVD ready to go after I finish this post.

Here's my Renew Inspiration blog for you to check out:

Cathy - Sorry that you're not feeling well. I love oatmeal raisin cookies too and I had some on Friday and Saturday. We ate them up so I don't have any for today which is good for my points.

Linda - Hope you get some sleep tonight. I love sugar so much, it's hard to resist.

Char - Hope all is well with you!

Hello Friends,

This is going to be short. I'm sorry I didn't get in here yesterday. We're both feeling pretty bad but starting to feel a little bit better. Last night, Randy couldn't keep his food down after coughing really hard and then this morning the same happened to me. Not fun at all! At least I'm not feeling quite so achy today. I'm going to try to get some rest in hopes that will help me feel better. I think we're going to get a humidifier for the upstairs. We have a whole house humidifier but it's having some issues. Randy cleaned it out and it seems to be doing better but it's not humidifying the house as much we want it to.

My trigger food for this week is cookies. They are all gone from Christmas and don't plan to get more.

Linda - Glad you are feeling a bit better each day. I drank a lot of liquid yesterday and ended up going to the bathroom many times during the night too. Sorry, it's annoying Steve to have to help you to the bathroom so much in the middle of the night.
That's cool that the family moving into the bungalow is the daughter of your best friend and that you've known her since she was a little girl. It sounds like she's the perfect person to move into the bungalow.
It seems as though Steve had really changed recently. That's nice he did some tinkering on Stan. I hope the weather cooperates and that you are able to get out in Stan. Sorry to hear you aren't sleeping well because you are out of sleeping pills. I hope Steve is able to get them for you soon.

Latisha - Glad you didn't have to get out in the snow yesterday. Turkey chili is a great dinner for a cold, snowy day. Great job doing your walk workout. I'm glad you were able to help your sons study for their med-terms. Ugh! It can be so hard to stay away from sweets. I know you can do it though! You've abstained from fast food and know you have it in you to overcome the temptation of cookies.
Thanks, I think we're both beginning to feel a bit better but still feeling pretty crummy. Thanks for reminding me that I don't need to exercise when I'm sick. I still feel guilty for not exercising though.

Char - I hope you are having a good weekend!

Hello team
Today Steve spent most of the day tinkering on Stan it was the first time EVER he has worked on a car like that. He changed the windscreen wipers he was really pleased with himself. We are going out in Stan tomorrow it is the first time we have had the time also the weather is supposed to be good it is going to be frosty tonight so it should sunny but cold.
I am very tired again today I did not sleep at all last night the night before I had a disturbed sleep too I know why now I have no sleeping pills I never thought I would need pills to sleep but obviously I do, Steve forgot to pick them up on Friday , So I have one more sleepless night,
@ Latishia it is great you can help your boys with their school project I never had that luxury my parents were from a different generation ,You have the power inside to resist the the temptation of the cookies

emoticon Happy Saturday and Good Evening! Sorry for not posting yesterday. I worked yesterday, ran errands, grocery shopped the day before a snow storm hit our area, and went to the salon. I did not do much when I came home. Fast forward to today. We woke up to lots of snow outside. I did not go anywhere. I cooked a big pot of turkey chili. Then, I did laundry and cleaned the kitchen. I did my walk workout today and it felt great. I spent some time helping my boys study for their mid-terms.

My trigger food for this week is eating oatmeal cookies. Believe it or not, I've eaten cookies yesterday and today.

Linda - Glad you feel better today. Hope you sleep better tonight.

Cathy - So sorry you and your husband is sick. Hope you feel better real soon, but glad you got some rest. Glad to hear that the tutorials seem to be helpful. Remember, you do not need to exercise when you're sick.

Char - Hope you feel better real soon too! Great job on getting your workout complete.

Hello Peppy Penguins!

Ugh! I'm feeling pretty horrible today. I woke up early this morning and had a hard time getting back to sleep. I finally did but woke up much later than I intended. I guess I needed the sleep. This cold is making me feel pretty yucky though. It's in my chest and I just feel pretty horrible. Randy has been coughing off and on since yesterday. Thankfully, he doesn't cough while trying to sleep. I don't have a cough and hope I don't get one. I think he got sick from Karate class and now I have it. His class was canceled yesterday and today because the teacher is sick too. I wish people wouldn't come to things like that when they are sick.

I've been going through a bunch of tutorials about the Dreamweaver software I'll be using to make our website. It's all pretty visually done so I don't have to do hardly any coding.

I haven't gotten any exercise in today because I just don't have the energy. We were supposed to go to my great nephew's birthday party tomorrow in the city south of us but with us both being sick we don't feel like going. Also, I don't want to get the kids, my niece or her husband sick. I hope that by Monday I'll be feeling better since I have a doctor's appointment.

Char - It's understandable that your points aren't what you would like for them to be. Focus on taking care of yourself as much as you can and worry about things like doing exercise and such when you're feeling better.
I'm glad your cough is better. I'm sorry you are still having a hard time breathing. Thankfully, my cold hasn't spread to my sinuses, yet. I hope it doesn't either. The carpeting looks really nice. Now we would like to someday replace the carpeting going up to the top level. lol Yeah, having your sleep interrupted because your mind won't quit sucks. The lazy river is cool and the kids really love it! It is a really nice low impact workout.
Sorry you have to work back to back. I'm sure that combined with being sick really drains you of your energy. I'd be complaining to hubby and your son for not cleaning the dishes while you are at work. I hope you got the laundry, dishes and bathrooms done before you went to work this afternoon.

Linda - I'm sorry you are still sick and that you can't seem to get rid of your cough. I hope the people who want to rent the bungalow will be good caretakers of it.

Latisha - Thank you for turning in the points for our team. I hope you had a good day!

Cathy I hope you feel better soon. My cough is better but I still can’t breathe that good through my nose. That’s the worst. I hope you enjoy your new carpet. I hate when your sleep is interrupted when the mind won’t quit. The lazy river sounds cool. What a great low impact work out.

Linda my husband has told me several times that he would be my diet Buddy and inevitable one of us falls and pulls the other one down but we keep trying. Buying healthier foods etc. with his Dad having a heart attack on New Year’s Eve I think he’ll be more serious.

Latisha the wind has started here up to 40 or 50 miles an hour then the blizzard starts this afternoon. I’m glad my work is next door. Camden had a good day yesterday I hope the trend continues. But some times it’s one good day then one bad them one mixed and back to good but when he has a bad it’s usually really really bad

Well I work 3 to 11 tonight and 7 to 3 tomorrow so a back till back. I get to do laundry, dishes which didn’t get done when I worked and hubby cooked for him my son and Camden apparently no one else knows how to do them. Vacuum and see if I can get around to the bathrooms before work.

Hope you all have a good day!

Hello Peppy Penguins,

I'm not feeling well tonight. I'm feeling really run down and no energy. I am planning on going to bed early tonight. This evening we went to the Kaiser pharmacy to pick up my meds. We weren't far from the mall so we headed over there to pick up some more sports tape for my knee. Afterwards, we ran over to Whole Paycheck (a.k.a. Whole Foods) because a friend of ours recommended getting some Oregano oil. I am not totally sold on Essentail Oils. There seems to be a lack of evidence supporting them. I ended up not getting any since it was $15 for a tiny little bottle and I'm not even sure how you are supposed to use it. We ended up going to the grocery store afterwards to pick up some Zicam, cough drops and a few other things. I called Randy's dad while we were en route to the grocery store. He just wanted to see how we were doing, if the carpet got installed and in general he was just bored. He had called Randy's phone several times but never left a message which is why I called him.

I haven't done any exercise today. I will do some of my PT exercises before I go to bed but I may not do all of them. I'm glad I went to the Y yesterday though.

Linda - That's great news about Steve! I know he has never really wanted to eat healthy in the past so that's really good news.
Sorry you couldn't do your mindful meditation with the builders working on the kitchen. Have a nice visit with Steve's mom.

Latisha - It's always nice to wake-up in a good mood. It's nice when work is busy but I'm sorry you had a bad headache this afternoon. Yuck, I'm sorry you're supposed to get snow and ice this weekend. We have a high wind warning in effect from 8 am to 8 pm Friday. No snow in the forecast until next Thursday. It's nice to work for the school and get federal holidays off. You might not have literally met your sleep goal by 2 minutes but I still say you did, in effect, meet your sleep goal. You did great with your workout, crunches and stretches though.
I like to do a variety of exercises. It keeps me from getting bored. Thanks, I think the tutorials will help.

Char - I hope you and Camden both had a good day today!

emoticon Happy Thursday! Today was a good day. I woke up in a good mood which is always refreshing. I had a chance to get some Sparking done before leaving the house. I dropped off my boys and then went to work. As always, I was very busy at work. I had a bad headache by the afternoon. I took some medicine and finished my work. The temperature dropped down to 28 degrees. We're supposed to get snow and ice this weekend. I plan to get my errands done tomorrow after work so I can stay in and enjoy my extended weekend (no work or school on Monday). I did some laundry (2 loads) when I got home. Unfortunately, I did not meet my sleep goal last night by 2 funky minutes. I stayed up too late. I did my walk workout, crunches and stretches.

Linda - So glad your husband is going to be your diet buddy. It helps to have someone close to you be on the same page. Sorry you missed your meditation time this morning. Maybe you can make up the time tonight.

Cathy - Great job going to the Y and exercising. You always do a variety of exercises. Good for you. You were busy with your website stuff. I understand about spending a lot of money to setup the website. Hopefully, the tutorials will help you.

Char - I have a lot of personal goals. Some days I do not even touch any of my projects which throws me off schedule. Wow, you got a lot of snow in your area. It sounds like it is moving our way. We're supposed to get 4 to 7 inches Friday night to Saturday. Hope Camden had a good day at school.

Hello Peppy Penguins,

I'm going to make this short. I'm super tired tonight and it's almost midnight. I woke up around 4 am to go to the bathroom and then I couldn't get back to sleep. My mind wouldn't stop. Randy had to go into work this morning. The carpet guys showed up around 10 am. It took them about 3 hours to do the basement but it looks nice. Now we want to redo the carpet upstairs. lol I decided to go to the Y this afternoon and get in the lazy river. I did a combination of walking and swimming. I walked against the current for half of the time. I was in the water for nearly an hour. Came home and put the birds to bed and made some vegetable beef soup. I made a double batch and put almost half in the freezer for after my surgery. I spent most of the day watching tutorials on how to use a new piece of software to make websites. It looks like it's going to be a huge time saver for me once I figure everything out. Oh and I did 2 loads of laundry today too.

Linda - Wow, what are the chances of that...Steve moving one of the plant pots in the green house and finding keys to the front and back doors?! That's nice of your gunsmith friend to alter your manual chair. Glad it fits in the car now.
Thanks, I too hope the surgery works for me. They've told me it will take about 9 months for it to completely heal. They will put me in a locking knee brace for about 4 days. After that, I'll be able to bend it but not put weight on it for at least another week.

Latisha - Wow, that's really late to be getting in and I'm sure it made for a very long day. Great job doing your Leslie Sansone workout. She's a lot of fun to workout to. Good for you trying to do some walking on your breaks. I haven't had time to write in my journal in the mornings either. I need to make the time. Sometimes life is so hectic that we just don't get to the things we'd like to do. I hope you can figure out a new writing schedule for your blog. Wishing you the best of luck in getting your book published. Yay for meeting your sleep, exercise and daily step goals.
You're right, I am worried and stressed about the knee surgery and the company's website. No, I haven't thought about getting assistance with the website from a hosting company. We're already spending a lot of money on different things. I think I have found a software that will help me out a lot. It's by Adobe and I get a 7 day free trial. I'm going through some tutorials online to help me with it. I really appreciate your thoughts about getting help with the website though.

Char - I do need some rest and I need to not put so much stress on myself. No, my sister wasn't thinking about moving close to me. She was just applying for a job up here since her husband works up here in town. They live in the city south of us...about 60 - 70 miles from here. The schedule of the times she'd be working though just wouldn't work out well with her husbands schedule. It does suck when a Dr doesn't accept your insurance plan. Thanks for wishing me luck with the soup. LOL I'm going to try it next week. When he's grumpy he won't let me pick him up. He won't step up on my hand and pecks at me. He also picks fights with his brother. lol
Yuck, another 6 inches of snow! I know I'm tired of the snow. The snow in the front yard is finally starting to melt. Oh man, I would have been so angry at the snow plow guy. Glad you were able to get out and get Camden to his appointment. I hope the play therapy helps him with his anger issues as well as the change in meds. Oh man, sorry to hear you are supposed to get more snow this weekend. I know I'm ready for spring too! I hope Camden had a good day in school.

Linda that’s awesome 2 viewings on the bungalow! How cool that the gun smith could help you fix a chair to fit the stag!

Cathy I hope you’re not coming down with something too. Maybe just need some rest. Was your sister thinking of moving close to you? It Suck’s when a Dr doesn’t accept your insurance plan. I Hope your soup turns out. LOL I’m trying to picture grumpy birds!

Latisha every time I read your posts I’m wondering how you fit 26 hours of work into 24 hours. I’m exhausted just reading what you do in a day. And I thought I was busy. Working full time. Making sure Camden gets to his appts, the residents get to theirs and keeping my house clean. I don’t always get a work out in and I definitely don’t write a blog every day nor am I writing a book.

Well I planned on getting on here earlier but a gal that was supposed to work tonight wanted to switch so I worked tonight and she’s working my Sunday. It snowed AGAIN today another good 6 inches. Stupid snow plow plowed me in over by the post office got stuck thank good I was able to go back and fourth and get out cause I had to get Camden for his appointment. He likes this one. Play therapy. I increased it to once a week where I could I mean punching a teacher in the face is nothing to sneeze at. We’ll get there though. I choose to keep him home due to the weather. We’re supposed to get MORE snow this weekend. Ughh. March can’t come soon enough when we go to Texas. I hate winter. If it wasn’t for family Id find a way out of here. Oh well here I am. Well almost done with my shift. Got to go to my cleaning job, take my son to go pay his fine, do a couple more errands, and pray Camden has a good day in school 🙏
Have a good night

emoticon Happy Wednesday! Today has been a l-o-n-g day, but I did not want to miss posting in this wonderful chatroom. It's been very busy at work and on the home front. Today I had to take my son to therapy after work. Did not get in until almost 7pm then I did my Leslie Sansone walk workout. I am trying to walk on my breaks while at work which helps me in my daily step category. I had Arby's for lunch and enjoyed every bit of it. Once I got home I washed 2 loads of clothes, swept and mopped the kitchen floor. I spent some time writing a bit so I can try to figure out a new writing schedule for my Renew Inspiration blog. I just don't have the same time anymore. Also, I want to work on my book project. I would love to publish it this year (personal writing goal). I've been reaching my sleep, exercise, and daily step goals. Well, I have to go to bed soon so I can wake up on time for work.

Linda - We've had a few dry days, but rain and snow are expected this weekend. Great news about the 2 viewings. Hopefully, you will get offers very soon.

Cathy - Sorry you're very tired lately. You're probably worried and stressed about the knee surgery and the company's website. Slow down and rest. It's important to make time for you. Have you thought about getting assistance with the website. I know some hosting companies charge a fee to setup your website, but that fee is tax deductible and it will save you a lot of time and misery. Just a thought.

Char - Wow, I did not know you live in the country. I bet it's peaceful. Great job balancing out your snacks throughout the day. I hope you feel better soon.

On the way there he dropped in to see our friend who is a gunsmith he altered my chair the manual one we use when we just go out and about and now it fits in the Stag emoticon now we need a dry day but I do not think we will be traveling with the top off just yet!,
@ Cathy I hope your surgery works for you Steve has had that operation . my friend had a knee replacement she had to be immobile for the first 2 weeks after

Hello Friends,

I'm going to try to keep this brief. I've been really tired today. I really hope I'm not coming down with something. That's the last thing I need before my operation. I worked on our website today and have decided to go in a slightly different direction. I'm going to start learning a new software that will hopefully make building a website easier.

I didn't get to my PT exercises today. I just have a lot going on. I did call the endocrinologists office yesterday to see if they had received the referral from my doctor. They said that it usually takes them 3 weeks to go through the stuff the doctor sent to them. Nothing like being in a hurry, right?!

My sister called today too and told me she decided to not apply any further to a job she had applied for up here. She told me her reasoning and it made sense to me. We also talked about a few other things as well. I received a phone call from a different endocrinologists office today and they said that they had received a referral from my doctor's office but it doesn't look like my provider accepts them as a doctor on their plan. I also went grocery store shopping and looked up recipes in a cookbook that was given to us called "How to Cook Everything". I'm going to try a chicken and barley soup.

Char - That is one thing that sucks about living in the country is that you don't get things like new coffee shops and such. The doctor said it would improve my happiness with life if I did it and that on a scale of 1 - 10 of severeness mine is a 5 or 6. The birds are doing okay. Peep is grumpy because he's molting (losing his feathers). It's like dogs and cats that shed their hair except that it takes a lot of energy for them to grow new ones. Daffy is grumpy because Peep is grumpy at everyone. lol The color of carpet is called Beige Twill www.karastan.com/carpet/deta
il/33124-3
10961/modern-tradition-beige
-twil

l We have laminate hardwood flooring on the main floor and then carpeting going upstairs and carpeting going downstairs. I want to get a throw rug for the living room on the main floor though.

Linda - Great news about the bungalow! I hope that one of them works out. I'm having surgery on my knee in February. I tore my ACL completely back in October. I will also have a minor surgery this summer on my drooping eyelids.

Latisha - I hope you had a good day!

Linda I wished we had a coffee shop near by I would walk down to it and get some. It would be nice to have something different once in a while but I doubt that will happen in The country. I have a friend that I used to work with that had droopy eye kid. She isn’t doing anything about it either. How are the birds doing? What color is the carpet? I would love to get ours ripped out in the living room and get some laminate wood flooring down and an area rug with wild life on it.

Latisha your as busy as ever. Glad the work shop went well. Yesterday couldn’t pass up the Angel food x 2. Once at work and them at home but didn’t snack on any thing else sugar wise. We bought some cauliflower crackers they are pretty tasty. Had them and veges and spinach and artichoke dip for supper. Do that was good. Trying to balance things out with the angel food.

Linda hope all is well with you.

My cold is getting the best of me. Stuffy nose. Coughing at night and today exhausted and short of breath a bit.no wheezing out anything like that just tired I think. Social worker was at our house yesterday after work. If Brian doesn’t re start his counseling he’ll never get unsupervised visits with Camden. I tried to tell him yesterday he needed to get going on this and he argued he was too busy but if he’s too busy for that How is he going to bring Camden to all of his appts? So we’ll be having him alot longer. If things keep going like this then forever I guess. No responsibly for Brian just face time once a day.

Hello Friends,

This is going to be quick. I went to see the doctor about my drooping eyelids. We came to a conclusion and we are going to hold off on anything for now since I'll be having surgery in just a few weeks on my knee. We did a lot of running around today. We stopped off at our favorite local coffee shop to get some coffee. The wife of the couple that is working with us on our game and are good friends with us has pretty much retired from occupational therapy and they live just a few blocks from the coffee shop. I texted her when we got there and asked if she wanted to come over to chat with us while we had coffee. She did and we ended up talking about several things for at least an hour. Ran some more errands, came home to let the birds out for a bit and then Randy had to leave for Karate.

I've been working on our website and have some things figured out but not others. I'm making progress though. I haven't done my PT today but I will for sure since I missed Saturday and Sunday. One of the things we did while we were out was go by the carpet place to talk to them about how much it was going to cost to put the carpet down that we had picked out a couple of weeks ago and to find out when they could do it. They'll be coming Wednesday to install the carpet.

Linda - I'm sorry you had to travel so far to only spend 5 minutes on the toilet and playing with the remote. I hope you aren't too sore from the trip.

Char - Glad you got a lot of sleep this weekend. That was nice of the Guardian ad Litem to let you know you had nothing to worry about. Great job riding your recumbent bike! I hope Cambden had a good day. Our occupational therapist friend that I mentioned earlier gave me a suggestion to try. If that doesn't work then she'll come over to evaluate me when laying in the bed to see if she can help me. I love my tub too and like you I don't get to use it as much as the shower. Many of us are emotional eaters which is why we are all here. :)

Latisha - Congratulations on your first workshop being a success. It's always nice to have a little ME time. It sounds like you made a healthy choice when eating out. Great job making your step goal and sleep goal. I always appreciate your encouragement and support!

emoticon Happy Monday! Today I had to drop my boys off at school at 7am so I can make it to work by 7:30am. I managed my first workshop this morning and it was a success. Since I arrived at work early, I got off of work early. It was nice to have some ME time before picking up the boys. I spent time making phone calls and writing for my Renew Inspiration blog. Then, my hubby wanted a steak from Outback Steakhouse so I got some shrimp and a baked potato. After eating dinner, I made myself do a walk workout so I can reach my daily step goal. In addition, I made my sleep goal last night as well, but now I am very tired since I had to wake up 30 minutes earlier than normal.

Char - Thank you for the encouraging words. Fast food and sweets are my weakness with my emotional challenge. You got a lot of sleep on the weekend, great job!

Linda - Don't sound like much fun for you on your 90 minute travel. Hope you get some rest tonight!

Cathy - Wow, you had a busy weekend! Great job with doing your PT exercises. Keep up the excellent work!

Latisha you are doing an awesome job of staying away from the fast foods! You are correct in there's not enough time in the day. Stay at home days are nice.I did it most of the weekend.oh my gosh I have tons of paperwork I need to shed.

Cathy It sucks that you are getting headaches when you put your feet up. I hope you can get that figured out.Hopefully the surgery will solve all those issues.oh I love my tub. I just never get enough time to use it as much as my shower. You are correct. I'm very much am emotional eater.

Linda I'm glad your traveling was worth the drive.

Just wanted to check in. I’ve slept a lot this weekend. Today went to Costco and bought some fruits and veggies. Ran into the Gaurdian as Litem. She approached me and said we had nothing to worry about. Thought that was nice of her. In laws came up to just go shopping as well to get healthy foods because of his heart attack. Rode my recumbent bike today. Back to work tomorrow. Praying it will be a good day for Camden.

Hello Penguins!

This weekend has been so busy! I need to try to make this short too.

Friday, I started to take down the Christmas decorations and did some work for our business. Then, I went to the Y to do my PT exercises. I cut back a little on a few of the exercises so that I would have time to do a few other exercises for my abs and arms. When I got home I took a bath. It's been a while since I've taken a bath. I usually take showers but it was nice to relax in the tub for a while. Randy went to Karate and we had plans to meet our business partner for supper afterwards. After I got ready to go to dinner I finished taking the ornaments off the tree while I waited for Randy to come home and pick me up. When we got home from dinner it was late and we decided to get ready for bed. Saturday, we got up and went out to our favorite local coffee shop to get a bite to eat before our company meeting. We had our company meeting and then our business partner stayed for a while. We ordered some Chinese food for supper. We ate out much more than we normally do and I'm glad we don't eat out like that often. Our business partner/friend left late last night too and after he left we got ready for bed. So, no time once again to get on here.

Everytime I sleep with one or both legs on a pillow to elevate them I end up with a bad headache early in the morning. Friday night/Saturday morning I woke up in the middle of the night with a really bad headache and my upper back hurting. Randy massaged my back and said that he could feel a disc in my upper back bulging out. He massaged it and that helped. Thankfully, he remembered that when things like that have happened in the past using a heating pad helped. So, I guess I'll try to elevate one or both legs again but use the heating pad under my back in hopes that it won't bother me. The only other thing that I might try to do is borrow a wedge pillow for my upper back from a friend to see if that would help.

It's hard to believe this month is almost half over! It'll be time for my surgery before I know it!

I did my PT Friday but yesterday I didn't get any in. I'm hoping to get at least a few of my exercises in before I go to bed.

Linda - I hope the standing lift works now that it's been serviced. That will be really nice for you to be able to go outside the front or back in your chair. We want to grow veggies this year but I'm not sure if we'll have time.
It's nice you get to spend the weekend together just being lazy. That's nice you have a big back garden with 2 apple trees.
McDonald's here in the US they don't have carrot sticks and fruit bags. They have salads but that's it.

Char - I like granite countertops but the stainless steel appliances are giant pain in the rear. I'm so sorry Camden had such a bad day on Friday. Oh my gosh, punching a teacher in the face is not good. I hope the change in meds will help with his anger issues and changing up his sleeping habits as well. Ugh! Sometimes it seems like the system works against you instead of for you. It is too bad kids have to suffer for the parents' bad decisions many years ago. This month is nearly half over so hopefully the rest of the time will go be quick so that the court date comes soon. It sounds like you are eating your feelings. I know it's hard to not give into temptation especially when you are feeling stressed. Friday may not have been a great day but hopefully this weekend was better.

Latisha - You've done so well not giving into your craving for fast food. You should be very proud of yourself. Good work meeting your step goal all week. There's no need to apologize for not getting on here every day. We all have busy lives and I know I'm not always able to get on here every day.
It's nice to spend the whole day at home when you are usually on the go every day.
Thanks, I think I will call the endocrinologists office tomorrow or the next day. My primary care doctor's office sent them a referral twice and I still haven't heard anything from the endocrinologists office.

I think I'm caught up now. I have no idea if I'll get time to write my blog this week but I will try. I have a doctor's appointment in the morning with a doctor about my drooping eyelids. We'll see what he has to say about it. Goodnight Peppy Penguins! emoticon
