Art is a great release of bad energy.
You need to find your medium, paper, paints, pencil crayon, canvas, computer graphics, etc, textiles, yarn, etc.
Whatever you can use to express your energies and get them outside of you.
I do a lot of creative things when im tense or sad. It is a good distraction but also the patience it takes to complete a task gives me time to process things. So while I am distracted, I am also able to eventually be calm and think through my feelings in a rational way

You need time to heal. Everyone does it in her/his own time. Acknowledge your feelings, write things down (and rip up the paper - it always makes me feel better). Talk to your doctor again. What you are on may not be quite right for you. And please feel free to vent here any time you need to. I found that the people I love are always around me, no matter where they are.

God grant me the serenity to change the things I can, to accept the things I cannot change, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Hi,

I've been feeling pretty sad lately; this time last year I was 18 weeks pregnant and I was so happy and content. This year I feel like someone carved out a piece of my soul and I can't replace it. The sadness makes me physically ill sometimes. I am on medication that helps me function but it can only do so much.

What do you do when you feel so sad you want to pull the covers over your head and stay in bed? What are your personal coping mechanisms? I know I'll always miss my little boy but I need to keep living my life and look towards the future.
