I didn't lose 15 pound in 2016. However, I lost some. 7.2 lbs. I went the right direction.

I didn't do terribly well with my weight loss goals this year but I'm more or less okay with that. I have been off of my Copaxone for a couple of years now and I'm seeing more and more problems with that so I'm going to have to get back to see my neurologist relatively soon and see about getting on some other treatment for my MS. I just got to where the post injection reactions were becoming both frequent enough and severe enough that I couldn't take them anymore, but I was foolish and chose to just stop the injections without going to talk to my neuro about it. (I really hate going to the doctor and so I'm kind of noncompliant sometimes...) Anyway, I'm going to have different health insurance starting in March so I'm going to set myself a goal of getting back on track with various doctor visits at that time.

There was much rejoicing!

I focused on eating healthy and cooking more. I lost 25 lbs. My goals for 2017 are to continue making healthy choices and to go to Aquatics PT 2x a week.

Vali, Kelly, Ezz--
How are your goals coming along?

My goal -- I said it was to lose 15 lbs this year, but, actually, I was already down a few from 2014 before I started. So, really, my goal has been 121 - 122 lbs by the end of the year. Not sure if I'll make it. March and April I went backwards.

But, I'm heading the right direction again. If I can keep losing 1 or 2 lbs per month from now to the end of the year like I did those other months, I may get close to meeting my goal. I'm in a 13-week program (IN.FORM by Nature's Sunshine) that I started 2 weeks ago. We'll see how that goes; I lost 1.6 lbs last week.

One of my goals for this year was to find a new apartment that has a real air conditioner instead of the worthless evaporative coolers that every other apartment I've ever lived in has had. I found the one I wanted and I'm starting to move my stuff into it. I've got until the end of the month to do it, which was another part of my plan. (To take a month, or as it turned out 3 weeks, to move instead of doing a stressful hurry up job of moving over a weekend or even a week.) My mom is coming from Tucson next week to help me with the move and with getting things set up.

Once I've gotten moved, my next goal is to start cooking more and eat healthier again. My new apartment has a really small kitchen, but a much better fridge with a bigger freezer than what I've got now, and lots of storage space in the kitchen. I think things are going to work out very well with that part of my goal.

The other thing I love about this apartment is that the complex has what looks to be a pretty decent exercise room. Once I've moved in I've got a friend who's going to show me how to use the equipment there so I can get back to exercising for the first time in a while. I'll let you guys know how it goes... emoticon

There was much rejoicing!

Wanted to take off 15 lbs this year. Not doing so well, so far. Have lost 2.2 lbs in 2016. 13.8 lbs to go. Will need to lose it more quickly, if I want to lose it all this year.

Hope you can accomplish your goals and lose the weight.

((Sigh)). I get tired of fighting so many battles.

My Goals for 2016 are to eat healthy & be active as I can every day. I did these goals in 2014 and lost 32lbs. I gained 17lbs in 2015 because I of the relapse. I am not beating myself over it because I was in too much pain to do cook healthy and be active.

None of us are perfect. It took me quite a long time to get back to journaling. Daily journaling...and I started loosing weight, but since my sinuses got infected, the MS has gone haywire...weight is coming back on because I can't exercise, but I am continuing to journal. Of course the app on my phone is a very big help.
I had my titers for the JV virus. I'm still on Copaxone, but I wouldn't mind switching to an oral med...
I do keep up with going to doctors. That is the primary key to staying healthy and I want to live a very long life.

So glad to see some of us posting in our Let's Be Healthy forum on our goal thread. Isn't that what SP is all about -- setting goals.

"My Goal....is exactly was Faith's goals are...LOL! "
Yes, Ezz. Hopefully, you'll be filled with energy and can rock the gym again.

"Guess I'm not really a very good person to be a leader of this group, but maybe this year I can get back on track and do better with that...we'll see..."
Vali, if that were the case, there wouldn't be a SparkPeople. None of us are perfect or meet our own expectations. Hope your new primary care doc works out.

I really seriously need to get back on track with healthy eating and trying to get a bit of exercise. I also need to get back to visiting my doctors at appropriate times, which is something I've been really bad about for the last year or two. The only doctor I saw in 2015 was my eye doctor.

I have an appointment with a new primary care doctor next Tuesday because the one I had left the practice during the year when I wasn't seeing any doctors. And I'm at least a year late for a follow up visit with my neurologist. I haven't been using my Copaxone for about a year because the side effects had just become too severe, so now my MS is getting a bit worse. Need to talk to my neurologist about either getting back on it (which I do NOT want to do) or getting on something else that will not have the horrible IPIR.

Guess I'm not really a very good person to be a leader of this group, but maybe this year I can get back on track and do better with that...we'll see...

There was much rejoicing!

My Goal....is exactly was Faith's goals are...LOL!

I've lost and gained and lost and now gaining some back because I cannot go to the gym.
I don't know if this is a huge flair or if it is cardiac in nature, but I am having another cardiac catheterization on Monday to look at the stent that was put in last May...but I also am so fatigued and my brain is making no sense out of anything...I am trying to keep my calories and carbs where they should be...
Yesterday I just about slept the whole day and I'm thinking about laying down again and I just put in one load of laundry and made bkfast which is nothing heavy...
So hopefully all will be figured out by the end of this month and I will be filled with energy and rockin' the gym again!

My goal --

In 2010 - 2011, I lost 60 lbs. I kept most of it off for a few years. But, in 2014, I went on steroids twice and gained about 15 lbs back. I have not been able to take that off.

My S.M.A.R.T.goal (specific, measurable, achievable, results-focused, and time-bound)
for 2016 is to:
S (specific) - Lose 15 pounds in one year by counting and documenting calories and by calorie cycling.
M (measurable) - 15 lbs
A (achievable) - I've done it before; I have the necessary knowledge to lose weight.
R (results-focused) - The result will be better health and I'll fit into my clothes better and look better.
T (time-focused) - I'm giving myself the whole year to lose these 15 lbs. I used to be able to lose 4 - 6 lbs per month, but, because I've not been successful lately, I'm trying to be more realistic. i hope to lose between 1 and 1.5 lbs per month. If the weight comes off more quickly, that's fine.
