emoticon Day 11 - Two Purposes of Food

I have to say that I know that I struggle with emotional eating. As I read this chapter, I focused on the two reasons for eating:

1. To fuel my body
2. To appreciate flavors

Even though I know that my body requires fuel to keep moving efficiently, it is up to me to provide healthy options and make sure I drink plenty of water. Now, the suggestion to eat 5 or 6 small meals each day will probably be a struggle for me, but I will focus with this more on the weekend. During the week, I am all over the place. The suggestion to write down your food and time will be interesting since Spark People don't give you that option. I will take it a step further and include how I am feeling too! I may track this information for a week or so. We'll see!

emoticon Day 8 - Help me, please...

Very busy week so I missed a day of reading & posting. Honestly, I find getting support is difficult so I depend on my husband and my Spark Friends. I have found that I don't like to be lectured or criticized by others. Also, I don't like for my efforts and hard work to go unnoticed. I always encourage kind words and a little help with cooking healthy meals.

Day 9 - Here's what I want

The quiz was very helpful. I made a copy to put in my 100 Days of Weight Loss notebook.

Day 10 - Appreciate good support

I believe I handle compliments quite well. I appreciate kind words and thoughtful gestures.

Today, I am strong. I'm capable of accomplishing anything throughout my weight loss journey.

I will become my own cheerleader and give myself positive self-talk.

I drank a lot of water today to help me stay on track. It's easy for me not to discuss my weight loss plan or goals with anyone.

I must protect my weight loss program at all costs!

3 High-Risk Times:

1. Late night snacking - not sure yet
2. At work - healthy snack options
3. At movie theater - eat before I go

emoticon Day 5 - Magic Notebook

I love writing, journaling, and blogging! I will start including my food intake and emotional eating patterns in my daily journaling routine. It will be nice to have an outlet to capture every feeling, thought, and emotion. Let's face it, the weight loss struggle is real. Honestly, I think it is going to challenging to think about food differently. For example, when I think about eating a slice of pizza, I write it down instead of ordering a large pepperoni pizza. I guess changing your mindset is half the battle.

I enjoyed this chapter so much.

1. Learn to think of it as setting boundaries for your eating plan.
2. Boundaries should give you benefits, not punishment!

I've defined my Narrow Road and my Wider Road in my notebook.

Well, today I will commit and stick to my program no matter what. I plan to:

1. Exercise
2. Eat Fruits & Veggies
3. Drink Water
4. Track Exercise & Food Intake

I realize that changing my attitude and outlook will be difficult, but I am up for the challenge. I know that exercise and fitness means so much more than having a nice body. It means having a much better life. I will continue to be my own inspiration throughout this journey. How about you? I will choose to shine and believe in myself.

emoticon Well, today is Day 1 for me.

emoticon Weight = 217

I will not allow my past to determine my future. I will work on changing my way of thinking as it relates to my weight loss journey. When I have doubts or fears, I will remind myself of why started this journey.

My goals are:

1. Exercise daily for at least 90 minutes
2. Make my daily step goal of 11,000 steps
3. Sleep for at least 6.5 hours per night
4. Drink plenty of water
5. Eat plenty of fruits and veggies
6. Track food and exercise via Spark People
7. Reading and journaling daily
