I didn't get on to this post when I should have. So I'm posted for several weeks here. I've finally started the downward push for weight loss instead of seeing gains. I've walked (since 1/8) 38.98 miles (61.90 miles since 1/1) which is 88,550 steps since 1/8 and 141,045 steps since 1/1! I've been able to get a few good walks in though not as many as I want nor need. I haven't done any other activities but my plan is to work on that each week. Finally seeing the right direction is definitely motivating!

Since January 1, I've walked 52,495 steps. This roughly equates to 22.92 miles. I've been pretty active other than that - especially over the past weekend. We were up at the family ranch for our annual hunting trip. During that time I hiked around the ranch, loaded and unloaded my Jeep twice, dragged a 100+ pound Axis doe up an incline to get her out of the fence line and into the back of the UTV (which had a non-working tailgate), crawled through a barbed wire fence (twice), helped haul a roughly 70 pound whitetail doe just over 400 feet to also put in the back of the UTV, picked up and carried a roughly 90 pound doe to put in the back of the UTV, carried around my 46 pound 9 year-old, walked the dog, cleaned up the ranch house, cooked, helped with other chores that happen at the ranch house, and came home to clean up what we hauled back. I am always so much more active up at the ranch and out in nature. When I'm back in town I find that I lose that motivation, but I'm going to work hard to get my rear in gear!

For the month of January the challenge is pretty simple. Since we are just beginning the year. Part of the challenge is to check in on this post once a week and tell us how you have done with the challenge. Also check in on the wall.

January 2020 challenge - walk a 5k distance (3.1 miles) at least 4 times a week and do 20 minutes of cardio and strength training 4 times a week. Any cardio (other than walking) and any strength training are good. Once each week check in on this post and on the wall to keep all of us accountable for the challenge!
