I'm sure it does give them a different taste, I guess I am wondering more about the nutritional differences. I know raw food proponents don't like to cook food for a variety of reasons, and I do try to eat a lot of raw for the nutrient value although I do eat cooked foods too (soups especially) but I am wondering how much roasting nuts changes the nutrient.

Hi WOOFGANG! It gives them a different taste. Roast a few and try them. I've also heard people do small amounts of nuts in their toaster oven.

I just cup up an orange and an apple and topped with cinnamon and 1 Tbs pecan butter. uhoh.

I make nut butters a lot, I've never tried roasting them. Wonder what the roasting does compared to blending raw?

I had some pecan pieces - about 1.5 cups. I roasted them at 300F for 8 mins. Let them cool. Popped them in the food processor -- within a minute, they were already turning into butter. I scraped the bowl down, processed for another 30 seconds. And it was done!! Delicious. Easy. It was a little loose. I put it in a bowl in the fridge and it got nice and creamy.

I won't make more than a cup or 1.5 cups at a time. Way too tempting. I was having a bad day yesterday so I had 2 possibility balls and a few raisins - topped with pecan butter. TOO good. Still better than a Dairy Queen Blizzard..... But I don't want to get carried away.,
