That is very strange that there was not a number to call at all, unless they operate by e-mail, there are some that do that also.

I am so sorry you are having such a hard time. I know that some private rescues do home checks, and have certain requirements that must be met for certain dog breeds, but to not have a way of contacting them doesn't sound good/right. I hope you are able to find a rescue/shelter that will help you add to your family.

Sorry our came from shelters, or we found them on the street and they went to the shelter while they/we tried to find the owners, and then adopted them when no owner took them back.

Hi there,

We are trying to adopt a dog from a rescue or foster and are new to this process. In the past, we have always adopted from shelters. It seems like I'm putting in applications only to find that the dog that we are interested in has already been adopted and I have to put in a new application for each dog. Today, I had an application rejected because they said we have too many animals according to our city ordinance. The ordinance says 4, we have 3 animals (1 dog and 2 cats). There is no number to call to follow up. So that's it? I'm frustrated because I want to do the right thing and adopt, but I feel like I keep hitting roadblocks. Any advice??
