LOL..that's funny...and yeah, they ARE just a little bit sore. I have to make a recommendation. Put the balance board aside and try it with just the remote and the nun-chuck. You put the nun-chuck in your pocket and you can control the camera by pushing in the "B" button on the remote. I've done it the past couple times now and it's a much better workout-it's actually harder AND you can move all over the room if you want!

As for mom-we might have to stage an intervention...lol!

Sun. May 15- 1 hour hiking the mountain behind the house
Mon. May 16- 45 running on the treadmill
Tue. May 17- 35 minutes swimming & 20 minutes walking (to the pool and back)
Wed. May 18- 84 minutes (I plan on blogging about this - I know its crazy)
Thu. May 19- 35 minutes dancing (Just dance from youtube)
Fri. May 20- 35 minutes elliptical trainer & 10 minutes vigorous rowing

5. I am really proud that I did not give in and stop when I was pressured with my spark lifestyle, but that I rather influenced my family for a combined weight loss of 25lbs thus far in 3 weeks.
7. My greatest accomplishment in this journey so far has been overcoming the sugar craziness - some days I almost feel free.
2. I am more fit today because I can do 84 minutes of cardio when last year summer I couldn't run for 5 minutes without feeling like fainting!

This weeks challenge is another two part challenge. Part one, as you may have already guessed, is a fitness challenge. It's all about raising your rate-your heart rate that is! Yes, CARDIO!

You already know that you lose weight when you burn more calories than you eat. The best way to do that is a combination of cardio, strength training and a healthy diet. But, the cornerstone of most weight loss programs is cardio, cardio, cardio. Cardio is one of the best things you can do for yourself and here are a few of the reasons why:

-Cardio is the quickest, most effective way to burn calories
-It strengthens the heart
-It increases lung capacity
-It boosts metabolism
-It reduces stress
-It increases energy
-It promotes restful sleep

In order to lose 1 pound a week, you need to create a 3500 calorie defecit-in other words you have to burn 3500 more calories than you eat. There is no "best" cardio exercise. The best one is one that you'll do on a regular basis, so finding something you like is critical to reaching your weight loss goals. So walk the dog, go for a swim, ride a bike, do some aerobics, play tennis...whatever you like-just make an effort to raise your heart rate and keep it there. You can do cardio in short bursts of 10 minutes, but for the best results you'll want to try to do 30 minutes or more.

To earn your Live-IT points for this part of the challenge, it's all about getting in your cardio. Give yourself 5 points for every day you complete at least 30 minutes of cardio. As a bonus, if you do at least 30 minutes of cardio every day of the challenge, award yourself 20 additional points.

The second part of the challenge is about raising your rates on how you rate yourself. When it comes right down to it, we are all here for the same reason-taking steps to be a better version of the wonderful you that you already are. In this process though, we often get discouraged and are overcome by the negative feelings of either self deprevation or our own poor body image, that we forget about how great we are and all of the things we have accomplished. So with that in mind, please complete any one of the following statements each day of the week. At the end of the week you will have completed all of the statements and earn 2 points each for a possible total of 14.

5. I am really proud that...

This is to help you remember not to ever underestimate yourself. Remember on a scale of 1 to 10-you are ALL 10s! Don't berate yourself...raise your rate and give yourself the crdit you deserve.

In the middle of all of the "I was" and "I will bes", don't forget to celebrate all of the "I ams".
