You know last night at 8 it was pleasant. I just got back from a morning walk and it was very hot. I can't go to the Y today cause I'm going to lunch with an old friend. So 35 minutes this morning and maybe I can do another 30 tonight.

Okay today's report:

1214 Calories
30 min exercise (walked 1.3 miles)
Drank 9 cups of water
Always sweet, kind and modest (LOL)

Not quite the stellar report as yesterday's but I MADE myself get out and walk at 8:00 p.m. tonight to at least get in 30 minutes! Now I have to take another shower. Worked in the yard for 45 minutes at 4:00 p.m. and came in absolutely drenched it was so hot!

I exercised for 125 minutes today.
I stayed under 1550 calories. (Just barely, but I made it.)
I was a positive influence to all I saw today--at the Y and while shopping!
I have drank 13 cups of water today! (yes I am on the toilet writing this.)
Day 1 for me very successful!

Wildflowerr's emoticon WHAT AM I MADE of Challenge:

Fitness:

1. Work every day toward running around my block without stopping to walk. (Distance 1.19 miles)
2. Practice riding my bike further distances until I am able to ride to Publix and back. (Distance 13.59 miles)
3. Amp my cardio up to an hour a day 4 days a week, with strength training 3 times a week.

Positive Influence:

1. Speak to one person a day about eating right, exercising, or Sparkpeople.

Food and Water:

1. Stay within my calorie range
2. Stay within my sodium range.
3. Get a minimum of 7 hours of sleep a night.
4. Drink a minimum of 10 glasses of water a day.
5. Eat a minimum of 70 grams of protein a day.
6. Eat a minimum of 40 grams of Fiber a day.

Weights and Measures:

1. Weigh in tomorrow, 6/21 and not again until Wednesday 6/30. (I have been doing it every day since August and I really need to relax and just let life happen!).

If you guys don't mind I'm just going to repost mine here from my blog since I kind of already have my goals in mind. Here are some of m personal challenges and the goals I have set...

Friday, Saturday and Sunday: Weekends are always tough for me to stay on track and I really can't remember the last weekend where my calories were within my 1200-1500 range for all 3 days. So my challenge for myself this weekend is to stay within my calorie range-no excuses. Sun day is Father's Day and I'm cooking a special steaks on the grill dinner for my dad so it's gonna be tough. I'm also going flea marketing and they are always making cotton candy and it smells so GOOD.

Monday-Thursday: These days aren't quite as tough for me so I'm going to make them about fitness and push myself to do things I've never done before. I am going to attempt a run and really push myself. I'm going to do more than the 45-60 min I usually do. The challenges of this is simply the time it takes. After working all day, coming home, doing things around the house-it's just tough to fit it all in.

My general goals for the entire week are:

1200-1500 calories every single day
A short blog about the days progress every day
I usually do 12 glasses a water a day so I'm going to push for 13
No less than 60 minutes of fitness every day and really push my limits
Be a positive influence to those in my daily life every day

Hey there team!

Some of you may or may not have noticed that I'm participating in a "What am I made of?" challenge. After a discussion we decided this might be a good challenge to carry over to the team. So that's what we are going to do to finish out the month of June. We are going to find out what we are made of.

This challenge is about pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone, testing your limits, and doing more than you thought you could. It's about knowing your own personal challenges and having a plan in place to overcome them. Sometimes you're half way to winning the battle just by being aware of what your challenges are and having a plan in place to defeat them. Maybe your challenge is avoiding the popcorn at the movie theatre or the nachos at your kid's baseball game.

This challenge is also about really pushing the limits of your physical capabilities. Maybe it means walking 2 miles instead of one, or maybe even running instead of walking. This challenge will be different for each of us because we each have different challenges in our lives and different physical capabilities.

Points will be earned for this challenge by meeting the goals you set for yourself. Make the goals things that are relavant to a healthy lifestyle: they can relate mentally or physically. But really commit yourself to them and make sure they push your limits. We often get comfortable with the changes we've made and fail to push ourselves for more.

For tomorrow, Sunday, you can earn 100 points for posting either a blog or in our team forum (whichever you are most comfortable with) detailing what your particualr chalenges are and how you plan to overcome them. In the same post, make sure to list your goals for the challenge-goals that really challenge you.

The official challenge will begin on Monday at which time you will earn 50 points for every day that you meet every single goal that you set for yourself. If you fail to reach one of them, you only earn 10 points. If you fail to reach two or more, then you get NO points. I know this sounds pretty strict, but I really want you to push yourself...it's a short period of time and I want each of us to see what results this extra effort will yield.
