I have a Wii and a few games. It is great fun and it adds some variety to my workouts because I get bored easily ^_^ If you do buy the Wii Fit Plus the balance board that comes with it can also be used for many other fitness games. I haven't tried the walk it out one yet but I also have one of the Dance dance revolution games where you have a mat for the floor and you step on the arrows in time with the music. Probably not the best to start out with unless you are familiar with games but maybe later on. Many of the fitness games track how many calories you burn and some of them are even in the spark fitness tracker, like the boxing and bowling from Wii Sports.

There are very specific fitness games like Wii Fit, yoga, pilates, biggest loser games, EA Active and others. Then there dance games like DDR and Just dance. There are TONS of options if you get a Wii.

Oh that's great to know. I LOVE your idea of using it as a reward. I think I have to start working on little rewards to myself for each short-term goal I attain.

Thanks for the feedback!

I gave myself a Wii as my reward for 50 lbs lost...I absolutely love it!! I'd have to recommend getting the Wii Fit Plus with it because it weighs you and tracks your progress AND has so many great options. I do yoga on mine, play balance games, do strength training and cardio that's actually kinda fun.

I also bought Walk it Out which is a fun little walking game where you walk to the beat of music and earn points for your efforts. You then can use your points to "buy" items on the island where you walk and you kinda build the island as you go.

It had been years since I played any video games so it took some adjustment time to figure everything out, but i would seriously recommend it. LOVE IT!

Hi Friends,

My daughter-in-law bought a Wii and says it's fabulous! I think they play games on it. But she said there are also great fitness games.

Does anyone have a Wii? If you do, can you tell me about it? How do you use it? How do you measure your exercises. And do you really get a good workout with it?

Thanks!
