I like this idea only just came across this. I will print out a calendar each month and I do have some dot stickers here I can use.

This will be great. I often did wonder what some were talking about when they said they had a red day etc...

Now I know. Thanks for Sharing.

I might add a tracker to my bujo too - thanks for that idea, Susan.

I use a page in my bullet journal with a square for each day and fill in with green highlighter for no S day completed successfully, yellow for S day and will fill in red marker if I have an "oops" day. So far no oops, in my second week :)

This thread was started 7 years ago! But I'm going to do it.
Don't think I've got a calendar, but DH might have one.
I certainly have some stickers, so will just put them on blank paper if I can't find a calendar.

Green - successful NoS day
Yellow - S day
Red - failed

Then I'll replicate it here each Wednesday

I like this idea of the calendar to mark. I've added one I printed out for October from Google.

I will for every day you successfully comply with the No S Diet, make a green mark.

On exempt S-days, make a yellow mark.

If I slip up, make a red mark.

This will work well for me.

I have added my calendar onto my vision board it is right in front of me to the right of my computer screen somewhere I will see it every time I am at my desk. It will also act as a visual reminder to to the right thing.

I love the idea! emoticon

emoticon I use the calendar on Linda Spangle's website also. I weigh in every morning (thanks to Make Friends with the Scale) and when I put that number on the site, I also put the dot RYG for the previous day unless I've already put it the night before.
I use green for NoS days and yellow or red for S days. Of course I use red if I go off plan.
emoticon I like using Linds's site for daily weigh ins because it keeps such a good visual record and I only change the number on Spark every week not daily.
emoticon However you decide to use the green, yellow or red system is fine I think because it lets you see at a glance how your doing long term.

I use Linda Spangler's 5 /10 day weight average chart (Excel Spreadsheet). I added a column where I put G,Y,R,S (for S day).

I weigh in every morning and put the letter to represent how I was the day before.
Felt a little stressed when I looked at the Habit Calendar on the No S website, so I have not used it. Maybe I will try it in the future.

No paper chart. The chart on my computer is not displayed for the family to see.

This is a lot like the calendar Linda Spangler recommends on her site. I'm going to start my No S calendar today.
I've been No S for awhile but never tracked how I'm doing on a daily basis. I only know the pounds are going down.

I have a freebie paper calendar and use little round red yellow green stickers. I keep forgetting to use it but I can stick the stickers on late - it's ok. It's in the cupboard I keep my vit D pills in - I keep forgetting to take those too! Guess I ought to move them both to somewhere I go daily. I like paper because it's more visible. Things can so easily get lost or not looked at on the computer.

Are you talking about a paper calendar? I have one under a pile of papers on what should be my dining table.

I often toy with the idea of doing something simple on a paper calendar. It's funny that I go online every day and often spend time on Spark and or nosdiet.com, but I don't faithfully use Habitcal. Some people swear by it. It's certainly simple.

Let us know how it goes using your calendar. SOME kind of tracking of success has definitely been found to make habits stronger. On another team, a member has for years just added little cute icons on the behaviors she targets each day she does then each week.

But FEELING better from doing something is one of the greatest reinforcers. I hope No S is making or will soon start making you feel better about meals and eating!

Yeah! I've been doing this to track the days I don't snack. My husband gives me a happy face for it. So far so good. I'm two weeks without snacking!

OKAY HERE'S THE CHALLENGE:

Get a calendar, most of us are using freebie (insurance etc) calendars, or Dollar Store Calendars, or 1/2 off calendars from bookstores like Borders.

You can use different colored ink pens to mark your calendars, or markers, or get a sheet of small stickers and color those with markers (a FlyLady trick!), or what I'm going to do is get a set of stickers from Dollar Tree dollar store (thank you LindaB for the tip!!) and use those. You can sticker however you wish - I'm going to follow Reinhard's instructions below:
green - No S Day & I did it
yellow - S Day
red - Failure. Remember failure is an event; never a person.

Then I'm going to use some other stickers on the sheet to indicate YES I Did The Shovel (exercise), and a failure color when I didn't Shovel.

The purpose is to track and be able to see at a glance how you're doing over time (the impact of this on the eyes & mind is demonstrated by looking at the colors in the electronic Habit Calendar linked below).

So, every one who wants to do this - do you have or can you get a calendar by this weekend? Because tomorrow is already Jan 15th - HALF THE MONTH GONE ALREADY. So we should really start no later than Tuesday the 18th. Monday is a holiday, and the weekend days are S days. Personally I'm starting the Habit Calendar Challenge Monday.

So I'll make a signup thread for all who want to participate, and starting the last half of Jan. we'll chart our progress together on our calendars. We can also take a picture of our electronic or paper calendars, and upload them onto the Team Photo Page. If you've already been doing the Habit Calendar that's great!, that just means you're ahead of us and can give us advice, LOL.

Reinhard Engels says:

The No S Diet is a moderate system, so you need to actually, literally follow the rules if you want to see results.

What I recommend is keeping a Habit Calendar. For every day you successfully comply with the No S Diet, make a green mark.

On exempt S-days, make a yellow mark.

If you slip up, make a red mark.

Kind of like a traffic light.

This not only helps you keep track of your compliance, but it's also surprisingly (if somewhat irrationally) motivating. Once you get a string of green days up there you really don't want to see a red!

You don't have to do this forever, just until you're really confident you have the habit down.

You can do this with a regular old paper calendar, but I also have a free online version called the HabitCal.
