I did not know this team existed, I would have joined back in January. My goal is to work out every day for the next 3-6 months consistently, I have done it for 44 days so far, and part of the goal is to work out at least 10 minutes a day if not more. I am up to an hr when I have the time, that is on my stationary bike.

Eventually I want to be a runner but I am about as far away from that as possible. So for now I just want to keep walking until I get where I want to be.

SCUNNINGHAM2002, I have to agree with you. This little device has motivated me so much it's too funny.

I completed my morning workout and after dinner I'll aim for my evening workout. I think step sounds good today.

emoticon Hi everyone!

Well, I'll start by taking one day at a time. I've notice that I set my goals and I just simply lose track and start feeling overwhelmed. So, I'm going to try a new approach that consists on braking my ULTIMATE GOAL into tiny fragments that I can manage on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

ULTIMATE GOAL: Lose 60 pounds by DECEMBER 31, 2014.
MID-WAY CHECK- IN GOAL: Lose 30 pounds by JULY 22, 2014
Monthly Goal: Review my progress.
Every two weeks: Take measurements
Every Week: Weight in.
DAILY GOAL : SAFE 500 per day + Complete my 10 Minutes DAILY EXCERSICE CHALLENGE.

emoticon Ok, this is a rough draft of my starting point.

My goal is to just get up and knock it out every morning this week. Starting my day off on my treadmill just sets the mood for the day. I've found that if I don't, then I also don't drink nearly enough water and I also don't eat right.

I was not sure where to put this one but since it is also a goal, kinda, I thought it could go here.

Anyway, I wanted to say that I finished the first week but then missed a few days from being ill, so I'm going to restart the challenge, but there is a catch there I can not restart right away.

I got hurt today and I'm not sure if I fractured my hip or have a hernia. I have made a doctor's appointment for tomorrow, I'm hoping it is not serious.

My goal now is to just get better from this injury what ever it is!

So anyway, should I leave the group and then restart it when I can get back to working out again (hopefully that will be soon)? Or just pick back up on the second week when I am able to?

I am going to make my goal very easy, since I seem to keep getting carried away with lofty goals that I never meet and then give up. My goal is to do 10 minutes of any sort of exercise, and to check-in at this challenge, every day. That's it - as simple as I can make it.

I actually just completed week 1. I didn't post my challenge goals yet, but here goes! I have been working out now for 6 weeks straight, 6 days a week. With this challenge I hoped to add that one extra day. Which I have! My hopes are to keep this up and continue my life style change. Feeling good and excited to keep it up!

My major goals are just to get in the habit of doing *something* each day. Which is hard, since I work two jobs, and each in a different city than I currently live in. That's lots of car time, and when I get home, I hurt and want to play my video games. BUT - I *will* learn to exercise, dern it!

at least 1 spark video, aerobic class 3 times a week and walking at least 30 minutes daily, more for my soul than actual exercise, but I do go at a 20 minute mile clip, not great, but cardio, I plan on losing 2 pounds by February 28, and I am behind schedule right now,
today I have done a 15 minute Qi Gong exercise, I really liked it, and a 11 minute chair cardio, have gone on one walk, but plan a bigger one in a bit. going for a new high in my steps,

My goal 10 or 15 minutes twice per day

I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. -Michael Jordan

My big goal is to attend at least 3 aquaerobics class each week, however in Chicago it is too cold now to workout and then head home right after getting out of the water; so my sub-goal is to workout at least ten minutes a day on the days that I do not attend class.

I am using this challenge to sort of support another challenge! For me, the hardest thing about an exercise routine is creating the routine itself. I have to set aside time and make a solid commitment. If I tell myself, "Today I have to run half an hour", it's easy to find an excuse and not do it. By committing just 10 minutes, and creating a STREAK of committed days....I can better address the more challenging routine I've set for myself (training for a half-marathon). I think it's amazing what we can accomplish in 10- or 15- minute increments!

For the month of January I found it inspiring or motivating to get my 10+ minutes of walk activity in a day and surpassed my expectations by completing 31 for 31 days of over 10,000+ steps a day - emoticon And to think this all started with a small thought of Sparking only 10 minutes a day back in November of 2013! Have to admit it was also rewarding to continually seek those GLOW GETTER AWARDS every day I crossed my goal!! emoticon

But now...February and only 28 days (25 left) and I decided to try a new plan...and am having difficulty in being, getting and afraid of maintaining my motivation for the month. I've emoticon so far for the 3 days in but...it's sort of hap-hazard in a way. I'm finding no reward, such as the glow getter award for steps, for when I accomplish my set goal of minutes each day!

So my activity goal for February is to maintain 30+ fitness minutes through strength training, stretching or flexibility activity. The SP video's do help, but some are harder to follow than others, until I become familiar with them. But I'm one who needs LOTS of motivation to keep me on track and am missing those little but simple glow getter awards I would stride for in January each day.

Any solutions out there for this emoticon

I've had a very hard time exercising in the past few months. I always put it off and make excuses to not work out. However, my pants and the way I feel don't lie and I have felt very tired as of late. I need to start doing something about it. Although I have tried other challenges in the past and have read book after book to jumpstart my motivation I still haven't completed one of them. So baby steps. My plan is to work out 10 minutes a day minimum. I will work out to a dvd or a video here on Sparkpeople. 10 minutes is a relative short amount of time so I'll know it will be over soon and get through it. Little by little I want to increase my endurance and lengths of my workouts. I was working out for 45 minutes 5 times per week last year in January and now i can barely get through 5 minutes! But every second is a new opportunity. To a healthier more fit (and those favorite jeans will fit nicely again) me.

Feel free to add me as a friend so we can be accountability buddies :-) emoticon
