My name is Alan Cryder and I have been a member of SparkPeople for a year now. Last year I walked 1131 aerobic miles and lost 30 pounds. I got off track in the middle of the year and gained some of my weight back. I am joining this challenge to kick start my new year and my determination to take off the weight I gained back and keep it off.

My goal is to tone up a little bit more this year. I got pretty fit last year and just have a few little jiggly bits that need to disappear!

Hi there everyone!!

I have two goals this year - my first goal is to overhaul my diet so that it can best prevent a breast cancer recurrence. I am adopting the Pink Ribbon Diet -- which is an ovo-lacto vegetarian diet. So far so good.

My second goal is to change up my workouts. I work out all of the time but have gotten into a rut with the same old workouts.


It is not enough to simply show up. You need to step up for results.... keep on stepping! Dee

I have gained 10 lbs since my August (2010) wedding! It's not unusual for me to gain 5 lbs but I typically am very good at getting it back on track.

While I want to focus on losing the 10 lbs... I am instead focusing on healthy food & moderate, consistent exercise as we are trying to get pregnant with our 1st (potentially only) baby. We know it may be a challenge as I just turned 41 but I am more determined then ever to be healthy!!

About 5 year ago I lost about 30lbs. I have since regained it. I would like lose it again. As a short term goal, I want to lose 5 - 7 lbs by the end of January. I want to be healthy and happy.

I'm joining the challenge because I need the jumpstart. My husband is joining me on a South Beach-style eating plan. I'm glad for his support, but he's already losing weight, and I'm not.

My goal for this month is to cut out sweets, and keep doing my cardio sessions at the gym, which I've was doing well with from June-November.

Hi everyone,

My name is Sharon and I live in the O.C. My challenge goal is to maintain a 95 pound weight loss. This will be done by healthy food choices and continuing my Jazzercise classes 5 times per week. I also wear a BodyBugg and have tracked my food for over one year.

This is the first time I have obtained a maintenance weight (125 lbs.) In all previous weight loss attempts, I maintained for about 30 minutes and proceeded to go up. No kidding!

Have lost 34 pounds since last January. Have 7 more to goal. WOuld like to be at goal by the end of the challenge. Daughters wedding is in 19 days. Big incentive to stick with it.

I echo this sentiment - to get through the 28 days without cheating. I am a great beginner but a horrible "finisher"...follow-through is not something I do well.

Hi all!

I did one of the SP official boot camps last year and made amazing progress. So when I saw this one, I had to join! My goals are to complete the challenge - no skipped days - and keep my eating under control. Can't wait to see what 28 dedicated days will bring!

My overall goal is to eat better this year. I love to run but because of some injuries I am going to have to taper back on the running, so I will need to watch what I eat even more closely. I also like the idea of doing quick little workouts a few days a week along with my longer cardio.

My goals are pretty simple...I'm going to be 28 on Sunday, I'm getting married on October 14th, and I'm out of shape. I need to get back into shape..I've always been pretty active; I just can't seem to keep myself motivated to get to the gym. right now I'm 177 lbs...I hope to be down to at least 160lbs by the wedding. That was my "happy" weight.

My goal is to stay focused, and to remind myself why I want this so bad. Never to give up! I got a better attitude, about this journey. My new life style is going to be fun, going to dance when I want to, play wii games when I want too, go for long walks with my dogs, and just do fun things, while staying focused.

My over goal is to make exercise a daily routine instead of a chore... I love working out, it's just getting the motivation to do after a long hard day at work.
This year I am focusing on a healthy lifestyle for myself. Baby steps! I thought this bootcamp would be a great start! Let's do this!
