I've been a member of sparkpeople and did well. I then had some medical problems which I am still working through but want to continue to lose weight and keep it off. I have put back most of the weight I lost before. So here I am! I thought this would be a great way to start the new year.

I'm starting to train for a half marathon and want to use the bootcamp workouts as cross training. Plus I really need to improve my upper body strength.

I too, lost some weight with Sparkpeople (of course my husband lost more) and then my Mom passed away, and I had knee surgery, and now I'm worse off than before. I joined Porky's Gym over the holidays, and plan to use the elyptical to strengthen my legs without further damaging my knees or hurting my feet, which are problematic. My problem is that I feel so overwhelmed at times, and it takes me so long to lose, that I get disgusted and give up. Plus, I'm hungry all the time, which I guess is part of the diabetes. I am good at starting out, and I did keep my interest up when I used Sparkpeople before, but as I said, life and health issues got in the way. So I'm back again to start over.

If only I may grow firmer, simpler, quieter, stronger.

I'm here to re-introduce exercise in my daily life, in small increments, to make a lasting change.

My goal is to do all of the videos in the month of January; and by doing so and eating within plan [I follow the new WW plan], I expect to release 8 pounds this first month and hit my first 5% goal.

Long term, I am looking to release approximately 35-40 pounds by June 1, and maintain for life!!!

WW start weight: 173.8
Today's weigh-in: 170.4
5% goal [from WW start date]: 165
10% goal weight: 157
15% goal weight: 148
20% goal weight: 139
25% goal weight: 130

I am on a restart. I had lost a good deal of weight with sparkpeople but have gained most of it back. Partly do to health problems especially foot issues which make working out difficult. These persist but I am determined to find a way.
My goal is to lose 35 pounds, get more fit and keep it off! I will do this by coming to sparkpeople daily, posting my food intake and work outs and keeping in touch with members of this community.
I plan to take a before picture today and will post it on my page. One in leggings and a fitted shirt so I can really see where I need to go and celebrate each new pic.

p.s. I started a new topic undet this forum by mistake. Does anyone know how to delete it?

I just started Spark people and the workout has been fine for the 28 day challenge. The pie chart under nutrition is interesting how it shows you what you are doing. Letting me see why I have struggled due to food choices

My goal is to 'DO IT!!!' I've started off with the best intentions time after time after time and always gotten sidetracked. No more excuses! I know what I'm supposed to do to lose the weight and inches - this gives me 28 days to make those changes a part of my regular routine - and I commit that this time I'm going to DO IT!!!

I would like to get into shape this year. I have asthma, which I have always used as an excuse not to exercise. It is my goal to stop making excuses and get into shape.

I'm a new member of this team, and I just joined today! I'm excited to do this challenge and needed some real motivation to get in shape. My goals are to eliminate late-night snacking, do some sort of exercise every day, whether it be strength or cardio, and to not give up. I currently weigh 160 at 5'5. My overall goal is to weigh 135, hopefully by the 3rd week in April (15 weeks). At the end of this challange, I hope to have lost 8 pounds and to be still working hard towards my goal!

Despite my best intentions, I've gained the five pounds holiday weight we've been warned against. Oh, well, time to get on track again! This 28 day program sounds like just the ticket!

I joined this group because I've been falling behind on my weight-loss goals; currently I'm 10 lbs. "behind schedule." My goal for this challenge is to "catch up" to my schedule by the end--that is, to show 40 pounds' total loss (by Feb. 2); just now I'm at 19 lbs. lost. I know that with focus I can either get there or get much closer :)

My short-term goal is to complete ALL of the Bootcamp Workouts in January. Day in, day out. Do the videos and get in the cardio. Also, use the food tracker to record everything I eat. Snacking adds up so fast, but if I know I have to write it down, then I will forgo the mindless snack.

Hi all, I have gained about 8lbs back since I started Sparks. I am so disappointed in myself. This year last year I was so committed. Holidays were there and I would still be losing the weight. This year all I had to do was look at the food and I gained the weight. (Whats with that). All though I exercised more then..Which is why I am here bootcamp might just be what I need.

I joined this 28 day challenge as I need all the support I can get with my weight loss and fitness goals. I have just completed day 2 of this challenge and feel good about myself. My goal is to complete this challenge and learn how to say "NO" when presented with food temptations. I am a stress eater and that has been my biggest problem for the past few years. I had to have a medical test last week and my weight was 41 pounds heavier than when I had this test done 3 years ago. I WILL NOT LET THIS HAPPEN AGAIN. I WILL COMPLETE THIS CHALLENGE AND I WILL GET TO MY GOAL WEIGHT BY MAY 1st. (with the help of Spark People)

Hi all! I started my fitness plan this fall, and have been doing pretty well so far! The pounds haven't been coming off like I hoped they would, but I've lost an inch and a half off of my waist! I also have replace a whole lot of fat in my legs with some muscle, which is awesome!

My goal for this challenge is to build a routine. The hardest part of this whole thing for me is that I can't seem to get into a routine. I'll do really well one week, and then the next week I hardly do anything.

Long term goal: go from 165 to 135 by April 1
Mid term goal: 150 by February 15
Short Term: Keep a routine for the entire month of January

Happy New Year to one and all! I would like to start fresh and revive my fitness plan. I've become lazy and am starting to put weight back on that I lost 2 years ago. My biggest fear is slipping back into my old ways. So this month my challenge is to create a new routine that gets me back to exercising and as a result I hope to lose between 5 and 10 pounds. It doesn't sound like a lot of weight but the last 5 pounds will not go away. That scares me. I need to stop this trend and get back to better habits.

My short-term goal is to stick with the challenge for the 28 days by: drinking 8 glasses of water daily; following the challenge's exercise plan (ie., through use of the online videos; make it a point to walk to most every where I go) as a result, lose 10 pounds after the 28 days.

Long-term goal: lose 30 pounds by June 1 and walk the DC 3-day for the Cure!

My goal this month is track food. I've had a great 18 months of being healthy - eating healthy foods and exercising regularly. I had a triple whammy in December: 2 weeks of travel for work, 2 weeks of being sick, and work getting stressful with a project that will wrap up on Jan 14th (welcome back 5 pounds). Recording my food will get me back on track, but I know it's going to be challenging to do for the next 2 weeks.
