Im going to do yesterdays challenge today because I was sore from Mondays strength training yesterday and wanted to give my muscles a day to relax.
Its all pretty new to me- never really tried as hard as I have been!

Also looking forward to todays challenge- 8 servings!! That IS a challenge but Im up for it! Congrats everyone on your hard work so far!

Jodilyn- Way to go with the soda. Keep up the good work.

I was down 4 lbs. on Sunday. Had sinus surgery today and not able to keep anything down today. No strenuous exercise for two weeks. So, I tried to get in all my cadrio last night for the week. I will do low impact cardio starting Thursday hopefully I will feel better. Way to go everyone, what a great team.

My goal is to be a healthier me.

I am doing well with my soda addiction. I have only had one and I met my goal of no more than three yesterday. I can not cold turkey I have to step down. But today I have already had 16 oz of water. I am so proud of myself.

Today's mini challenge will be strength training. 2-3 sets (8-12 reps) of at least 10 strength training exercises. You can choose to do the entire body, focus on legs, arms, abs - whatever you want to focus on today. If you can't think of exercises for that part of the body do a search - there are tons of resources on this site.

I'm actually going to follow a routine from Denise Austin that was in a magazine from 2002 that was a giveaway at the library for me this weekend that goes through the whole body. I'll have to read it over again because I remember there were some really good points about the order in which to do things that I'd like to share.

And Wednesday's challenge will be to get your 8 servings of fruits and veggies in. Bonus challenge will be to try a new vegetable, or one you have not cared for in the past. You may be surprised to find out that your tastes do change.

I've missed a few days as I was sick, but I'm ready to start again. I did do the new exercise, skater squats, which I enjoyed and added to my strength training. I didn't get outside for walks, as that was while I was sick, but I did do my dancing yesterday, it was in the shower though, does that still count? Oh yeah, and I did 176 min of cardio last week! woo hoo

I think that may be in part due to being sick, we'll see how my weight does this week eating fully again.

It's been a crazy week. I did not get my full 150 cardio mins in last week, but I did do the walking on Saturday. I missed Monday's mini challenge. My home computer is down with a virus and I didn't get a chance to log on at work yesterday. I also forgot to weigh in this morning, so I'll do that tomorrow and let you know. What's today's mini challenge?

Thanks for the encouragement, LADYPUERCOLOCO. I was feeling rather frustrated when I showed a half pound gain. I exercised every day and ate right and was expecting it to go in the other direction. But this reminds me that my dedication will pay off sooner or later.

Yay! First week down, and great to have you all motivated and doing well. And if you didn't lose, no big deal - our bodies do what they want in their own time. I just went thru 3 weeks of heavy cardio, eating very well and losing nothing. I lost more while I was on vacation and not paying attention to anything. I think my body was in shock, and held on to it until it realized that this is the way things are going to be. In otherwords, hang in there!

I didn't lose anything. I think I'm going to have to rev up my cardio and precook/plan meals so it will be easier and more convenient to eat the right things. Onward to week two!!! emoticon

Well I didnt get the daily challenge done but I did manage to get in some good cardio on my 15 min break and did some strength training on lunch for about 20 mins. I can already feel it!!

Welcome, welcome to everyone new, and happy Monday to all!

Yeah, I think the weekly cardio challenges should run Sunday - Saturday to go with the SparkPeople counters. I ended up with 480 last week. Wow - didn't realize how much I had put in until I looked at it in the counter.

So, the weekly cardio challenge for this week will be 160 minutes.

And today's daily challenge - Happy Dance Monday. ;-) Pick 4 songs, any genre, any style - anything you like and dance! Any kind of dancing you want - if you want to go out and do it in public, power to you, but your living room, bedroom, wherever you can be alone is perfectly fine too. Just let go and dance!

Okay, I had a bad day calorie wise. I am not going let this interfere with my progress. Thank goodness I will not be able to eat anything on Tuesday.. actually after 8:00PM on Monday. Hopefully this will balance out by the end of the week. This week will be tough but I assure you next week I expect to be on my game. Thanks for the support. I have completed my assignment for Sunday and looking forward to Monday's challenge. I think tracking cardio would be easier to base it on the Sparks monitoring system verse trying to keep track of Tuesday through Monday..just my thoughts. Let me know what we decide.

I want to be abe to run a 1/2 marathon in June! I was training for one at the end of 08 hen got the news about baby#2! Also my brother is getting married in May and I wanna look fabulous!
I ran/walked an hour today!

I am in! Better late than never, my goal for 5% is 14.5 lbs. so I am rounding it up to 15! Weigh ins are on Tuesdays? How do I get the weight ticker to track my loss?

I would like to join as well. That would be for me 9.65 lbs so I will round it up to 10 lbs. I did my walk already this morning and did 1.1 miles. for 3100 steps. Not bad for a first day. I am a soda drinker so I have set a goal of no more than 3 soda's this first week. I think that is great for me who on averages drinks at least a six pack if not more if you count in fountain soda's.

It was a beautiful day. Walked about 30 min outside. Played racquetball for the first time...found muscles I did not know I had. Stayed in my calorie intake for the day (even on a Saturday-which is great for me). Went to the gym to do cardio. Shared the great resource Sparkpeople was with a friend and encouraged her to join. I was able to get over 50 sparks points. Keep up the great job everyone.

I'm saving the mall trip for tomorrow: going to take care of the wedding registration!

I did, however, get 45 minutes in on my bike going to my gym's new location.

Well I sucked it up and we went to the mall today! We strolled for well over an hour and several times I had to sprint (to chase down my 2 yr old who wants NO PART of being in a stroller anymore). Then she fell asleep on the way home which gave me the *perfect* opportunity to try out the Exercise TV programs that I have On Demand. Silly me didnt realize that Jillians 30 Day Shred has 3 levels so I sweated (and huffed and puffed) my way through level 2. But wow I can really feel it now! Now I'm off to make Turkey Chili for dinner- Yum!! Looking forward to tomorrows challenge!

Welcome everyone and enjoy any of the challenges you'd like, any time!

I did get out and walk today; my daughter and I went to the library and parked a couple of blocks away so we could get some extra walking in. We also walked to my parents house this afternoon to help my dad with his computer (and how I managed to get on here - LOL) We may still go to the mall this evening to get some more in.
