I'm allergic to corn, but I recently discovered you can pop other grains the same way as corn! If you have an air popper, be careful that you don't use grains that are too small (I have read anecdotes about quinoa getting sucked into the vents and eventually causing fires!).

For stove-top prepping, follow stove top pop corn recipes. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm really excited! I haven't had popcorn in soon long. Maybe tonight I'll make some up for pre-made snacks :)

I have been doing the 1/4 c popcorn in Paper bag in microwave, spraying with Pal Olive Oil and using Garlic Salt. Fills that senseless eating pattern without much harm. Today found a lot of popcorn recipes in newspapers.
First one used 2 T Nutritional yeast to add a cheese like flavor to Popcorn, and 1 tsp curry powder optional.

Glazed Lemon and Poppy Seed Popcorn/4 qts
4 qts unbuttered and unsalted Popcorn
1 egg white
1/4 C Sugar
1/4 Tsp Lemon extract
2 Tsp Lemon Zest
1 tsp Poppy Seeds
Preheat oven to 300F. Line large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper, or foil sprayed with cooking spray. Spread popcorn. In small bowl, whisk egg white, sugar, salt and lemon extract until foamy. Pour over popcorn and toss to coat evenly. Sprinkle with poppy seeds;mix. Bake 20 min stirring once midway thru baking time. Cool completely before storing in an airtight container. The egg whites help flavors adhere to popcorn without adding fat.

There is a recipe for Popcorn Almond Muffins. 1 1/2 c flour and 1/4 c sugar, which is somewhat calorie free, but does include flour and milk and an egg so I won't post it.
