I have easily walked one mile for several days now. This weekend I start to kick things back up a notch. I plan to do 1.5 miles tomorrow and sunday. I also plan to do a second mile this evening when it cools down a bit.

Yesterday I walked a mile, and then hit the gym and water jogged for a solid 45 minutes and weight lifted. I am trying to build up my endurance. I think the one mile path will now be my base line, instead of the 1/2 mile track I use on my rest days.

I did hit the gym on saturday. I walked 1.5 miles on the treadmill, then sunday I walked the same distance in the neighborhood. Monday I was so sore I was limping badly. The outside of my left leg, the one with the nerve damage and toe drop, is really sore.

Went to physical therapy today. He said to ice that leg automatically when I do a long walk. I also got some great stretches to do before and after walking. I have been stretching, but these are specifically for that area of my lower leg.

Today is supposed to be a long walk day for me, but I am advised against it. I need to give it a little more time before I stress it again.

so, I am up to 1.25 miles at this point. I had nerves burned at 2 levels in my thoracic and cervical area yesterday. I slept off anesthesia most of the day, and hung out on an ice pack, but I did manage to get a 1/2 mile walk in with the dog.

I cant get in the pool for a few more days, so I am planning to hit the gym and the treadmill today. I am not sure how far I can walk today, and dont want to get too far from home and not be able to continue. So, the gym is a better bet for today. But it sure is a beautiful day to walk here in florida.

I will do the 5k in 11 weeks instead of 5. 10 weeks ago I was in a wheelchair. Monday I walked my first full mile in 20 years. Today I walked 1.25 miles. My plan is to add 1/4 mile per week to my distance. 10 weeks ago, I could not walk 1/8 mile.

My physical therapist and I never expected me to walk that mile when I began. I turn 55 on January 11th. My plan is to walk a 5K on my birthday in a purple tu tu with a tiara, with my friends.

I do deep water aerobics 3-4 times a week at least 60 minutes and usually 90. I walk the dog at least .5 miles on those days. Currently I do PT on tues and thurs, but am being released shortly. I plant to make those days weight machines and walk distance days, plus one more long walk day.

I started working out 10 weeks ago- I actually ditched the wheelchair about 3 weeks ago
