Thanks so much for both answers. I start Monday with the program and just wanted to see which way to go.

Most treadmills track distance even when we aren't paying attention to it. If for some reason yours doesn't, you should still be able to figure out how far you are currently walking. If you are walking 3mph, in 30 minutes you have done 1.5 miles... 4mph - 2 miles... 2mph - 1 mile.

So if you are at or beyond what the plan shows for the week, keep at your current level until you reach that point in the training plan. Of course you can always do exactly what the plan is, it's up to you.

I'd probably start closer to the time your currently walking, but then if your struggling to get the distance redo that week or back it up a week.

I have just joined this team because I plan to walk a 5K in July. I have been walking on a treadmill daily for months now and often walk outdoors later in the day. I currently walk a minimum of 30 minutes on the treadmill now, and have been increading speed rather than focusing on distance. Should I start with the week one workouts as printed until I catch up to my current level or start with the distance/time I am currently walking? My goal is to increase the distance and I don't think that running programs are for me because of health issues, so this seemed to be the best team for my goals.
