Finished my Therapeutic 5K WALK - proud and will rest a couple days then back into routine of exercise and then concentrate on weight LOSS.

6/24 edit - I am amazed at how exhausted I am this week - I have fibro but had not expected the LOOONG recovery time - have used it for reading and studying exactly what goals I want to set for the weight loss program - next week will be soon enough and will also give me time to check in with Dr about any radical changes in diet - he keeps a close watch on bloodwork nd efforts so will encourage and be a reality check. Will keep recording what I am doing and will see changes as I start whatever new program I enter.

Laughing when you say "ready for 5k" because I don't really feel ready - just determined to do it and have no preconceived ideas of how fast it will go but have two more weeks to work up my endurance to do whatever it takes to "get 'er done" But will also be careful that heart is doing OK through out. Our present heat wave is supposed to disappear this coming weekend and I am doing my walk EARLY morning like 6 or 6:30 am

Great LINDA that you are ready for your 5K. I will still have to take it easy for a week or possibly more but I will walk at home and it feels so good to be able to do that.

Yeah!!! Daughters are precious motivators ... I got scolded by mine for not letting her know I was so depresses last week - "You know Mom, I am your best cheer leader and If I don't know how you are [she lived 2.5 hours away] I can't cheer for you - you gotta tell me these things"
My date is set...two week from today!!!

Missed the last two days of my month for being very sick. I am still planning to participate in a 5K this summer along with my daughter.

Sorry to report - I broke the habit and am very depressed and off schedule for therapy walks and for my 5K -- Depression is an old enemy and always joins forces with fibromyalgia and I am struggling to overcome ... Prayer would be appreciated - will keep in touch and let you know how the next few days go.

June 1 Depression lifting some and back on the exercise bike at half amount of time I was doing but I am back on it and ready to return to the bright side of trying.

I did end up doing my exercise bike for my therapy walk minutes last evening

Today is day 7 of second time through week 5 ...
I think I will not record in a week slot from now on... I will just keep up with you that are active in your weeks and let you know when I can FINALLY walk my 5k --- It will take me at least an hour and a half I think but that is OK...I will overcome and succeed . I am excited to encourage each one that is working at this. God bless.

Wk5 - 2nd time Day 6 Well I did NOT get in my therapy walk today - spent time visiting with my Dearest friend who was in town - then terrible wind and rain storm blew in so I did little walking in Groc store but not the same as outside -- Relationships are high card in my life though so it is OK. It really is becoming a habit -

Wk5 - 2nd time Day 1 Happy for you to have good walking weather - We are blessed again today with sun but the wind does make it harder to walk - doing well with routines.

Wk5 Day4 got in my 60 minutes on the exercise bike - had to pause in the middle for a potty stop [bladder infections are NOT fun] but got good distance and time. Tomorrow is challenge to walk outside - hope it goes well.

I am a bit discouraged in seeming to have hit a plateu of ability and improvement - but trusting that consistency will pay off soon.

Wk5 day 3 - encouragement from Physical therapist with addition of a few more specific exercises for my surgery recovery. Also encouragement from friends and acquaintances - always good for my resolve to keep on working hard on this.
65minutes on seated elliptical plus workout with therapist and puppy to vet - I am plumb tuckered out tonight!!! Rest well and good working tomorrow.

Wk 5 Day 2 This whole path has been different for me [due to the spinal surgery recovery] but I am still working on getting ready for my 5K. I have several more weeks to go but will keep persuing my goal and will also encourage others that come on team while I am still working on mine.
I chose to record notes here until I walk my race because I hope to be forming a lifetime plan/habbit of at least 30 minutes of active elliptical or bike or walking/treadmill 6 out of 7 days per week to keep mobility, muscle and nerve healing and maintaining. This has been victories won at too high a price to not keep working on it.

Well, officially I finished this challenge on 28 Feb but walking 5kms three times a week has become an integral part of my life. I am off to take up on another challenge but I promised myself, whatever happens, I will stick to this healthy habit because it does make me feel better. What's more, if I miss a walking day I itch till I get it done.

Hope others feel similar too :)
