My goal is to get in the habit of doing some type of exercise regularly. Also, mixing up what I do. I was starting to get some exercise in everyday in the pool, but I learned a hard lesson. We went to an Oktoberfest this past weekend. It was a lot of games and dancing and walking, although it was 4 hours on my feet. The next day, every inch of my body hurt. In the pool, the water held me up.

Hi everyone! My goals for this eight week challenge is to develop new habits for eating, drinking water, and exercising. I currently eat out to much and drink Diet Coke and only excercise every once in a while. I want to lose weight and develop the new habits so that I can get off medications. I also want to lose weight for my daughters wedding (there is no date yet but it's in the works). Good luck to all. Have a great day!

My goal is to learn more about Diabetes, over the last 9 months my A1C has gone from 5.7 to 7.2. I have been trying for it to go down and frustrated that it is increasing despite my efforts. October is when I get the A1C test again and I sure hope that it goes down. I am following what my Dietician has suggested and what my Diabetes nurse has talked with me about. I am joining the 8 week challenge to also help with my goal and to bring down the A1C. If my A1C goes above the 7.2 I will have to go on insulin as I am taking the maximum dose of Glimepiride.

I'm back on here and want to get my FBS under control as well as get my A1c down. I had major surgery in May and my fasting was initially ranging from the high 180's to the high 200's right after surgery and now they're ranging from the low 150's to high 180's.

I'm also under 5' and want to drop my weight at least by 10%. I think my biggest issue is that I'm usually on the mobile app and it doesn't always have the demographics for the food I'm eating, which means more time to figure it out and I'm really short on time these days.

One thing I have started doing recently is that I make sure that I'm done eating by 9p.m. and have a glass of water with 2 caps of ACV and it seems to be lowering my FBS (I've just done it twice and both times it's been the lowest it has been in a while).

Hi, I'm restarting this challenge. Got way off track over the summer and need to refocus and get back to planning meals and add excercise into my life. My goal for this 8-week challenge is to lose 10% of my weight and develop lasting healthy habits onto which l can continue to build, for a permanent lifestyle change.

I rejoined this team, hoping to further progress with my weight loss. I weighed 280 lbs 10 years ago and was diagnosed with Type-2 Diabetes. I have lost 100 lbs since then and my HbA1c is 6.9 right now.

- I want to make exercise a daily habit, do it every evening before bed.
- I want to put my appetite under control. I will keep my daily calories around 1600.
- Since I want to make it a transformation in my life that will continue for the rest of my life on this planet, I am going to give changes a little by little, but continually, to make it sustainable for the rest of my life.

Hi everyone! I'm having to restart the challenge because I just can't stay on the wagon! I eat out a lot and no I don't make healthy choices when I eat out. I just have to stop. I know it's a habit and a convenience. I'm going to try my best to overcome this terrible habit and make new healthier habits. My goal is too lose enough weight, eat right, and exercise to get off my medications. I know I can do it just have to get my head in the game. Good luck to all meeting your goals!

Disclosure: I don't have an official diagnosis, but I suspect that I either have or am darn close to having pre-diabetes.

Goals for the 8-week diabetes challenge:
I will get an annual physical including a blood glucose test, so that I can "know my number"
I will follow Eat To Live nutrition guidelines
I will walk 5x/week in addition to following exercise prescription of this challenge

I lost 10 lbs from April thru July 2016. I also gained it back as soon as the weather heated up and I stopped walking outside. My goal is to recommit to exercises as well as learn new ones for indoors. At this point I would like to lose my 10 lbs AGAIN, and then commit to further weight loss. I understand portion control, I also understand how to eat, my issue is going back to larger portions, eating out of boredom and recommit to a diabetic type of eating. I need to obtain SELF CONTROL. I already belong to TOPS (Take off pounds sensibly) and just finished a year of prediabetic meetings, love them both! Both are very supportive, but I am 66 and need to get it right! Thanks You.

Hi all. I was doing very well with my program, until I had a stroke on 6/5. Since then my blood sugars have been all over the board, and way too high. I saw the Dr. on Thursday. He doesn't want to change my medication ( Metformin) until he sees a week of readings - he recommended trying a protein snack before bed, and that is helping.

I joined this team, because I was getting too "comfortable" and parts of my program were starting to slide!

Week 1-
Goals
- To exercise at least 1/2 hour each day. Strength training three days a week. Water Aerobics on Wed, and Fridays.
- To continue tracking and staying within Nutritional guidelines- If you Bite It Write It ( I can definitely improve on this one)
- Stay hydrated, drinking at least 4-22oz glasses of water in addition to unsweetened green tea , and not more than 2 cups of coffee.
- To continue abstinence from smoking

I have recently been diagnosed as pre-diabetic (FBS 113). Literally EVERYONE in my family has diabetes, so I am going to make the most of this opportunity to improve my health and change the family tree.

My goals are to:
- stay within a healthy limit of carbs daily
- increase my exercise routine
- better manage my addiction to sweets

Here's to a healthier future!

I had forgotten I had started this challenge back in June. It sort of disappeared from my agenda. Well, anyway, life is busy at my house. My thoughts about this challenge: I believe alternating cardio and strength training every other day for twenty minutes every day will benefit me. I am prediabetic and I would really love to lose that label. Also, tracking what I eat for a whole day at a time, three days a week, should keep me accountable also. Getting seven hours of sleep each night and having two rest days each week. These goals will hopefully get me with a lower A1C and a lighter weight.

Hi, I am a type 2 diabetic and my goals are..
1. to build strength mentally and physically
2. exercise daily and walking at least 3000 steps per day (per doctor request)
3. Learn to eat right and tracking what I do eat
4. lose weight and taking better care of myself
5. to one day be off of all diabetic medication

Diabetes runs in my family and no one has ever done anything to help lower there A1C other then medication. I want to be the one that does something about it and not just sit there. I want to be able to get my sister involved so she to can learn that she can control this to the point of not needing medication any longer.

I recently discovered that I am pre-diabetic. The doctor says I'm doing all the right things to control this, but I want to learn all I can & apply it to my lifestyle in order to prevent it from advancing to full blown diabetes.

My goal is to maintain the healthy habits that I've developed & to include more healthy habits. One of the first things I an doing is learning about carbs.

My main goal is to reacquaint myself with the correct portions for each meal (number of carb servings, protein, etc.) and to develop a meal plan that fits those portions.
In addition l want to start excercising, which will help me lose weight and improve my body's use of insulin.

I finallt found something to help with my glucose numbers. In turn my weight loss and gain stopped. I am 5 foot 7 155lbs and my dr. wants me to be a bit lower. They would prefer 125 but since I am no spring chicken and have a few injuries the goal is 140. I don't care if I don't get "smaller" but at a flabby size 10 and 12, I need a little help.

I also work nights and I can not walk outside either. I have some light dumbbells here that I use to get some strength training in. You could bring a resistance band with you if dumbbells are out of the question. Also, how about some chair exercises. Or just stretching. Moving around for five minutes every hour gets some exercise in.
Good luck!

Hi! I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes about 6 weeks ago. I have been tracking my food and exercise, but my glucose numbers are all over the place. So, my goals for this week are:

1. To continue tracking my food and exercise every day;
2. To exercise every day;
3. To get my glucose number more consistent.

Right now I am checking my blood sugar about 4 times a day.

Here we go!!!

Since I am making several changes to my life this week, this challenge fits right in with what I am doing.

1) back on my isagenix 90 day challenge... lost 30 pounds last year... want to loose the next 30 now.

2) starting a new flexibility program I found on line this week. This should help me with my quest for my black belt in TaeKwanDo...scheduled to get it next spring.

3) also starting the "life changing magic of tidying up" from the book by that name. Very intriguing. This may take some time.

Looking forward to making progress on all levels.

Thanks for being there, Mary
