I am almost done with week 4 and I am learning like the rest of you to plan and I also learned I have to be honest with my friends. I can't go out and eat pizza and then expect to feel good. My fasting numbers are up even though I've been exercising. I still need to drop at least 30 pounds and to keep in control. This challenge helps when I read that other people are going through the same things. Thanks all for sharing!

I learned during Week Four that if you plan you still can succeed even with a hurricane thrown into the mix. It was difficult to do the videos so I have to adjust my access and schedule, but I did it!!!

I'm halfway through week-4. With the extra exercising this week, I am finding that my sugar is reaching the 80-90 range as lows and 150 as highs. Twice this week I have felt like my sugar was crashing (shaking, weakness, etc.) at around 95. I am finding that if I am exercising, I had better have some Life Savers candy with me or at least snack before I exercise. I'm sure this will pass as my body adjusts. I still feel so much better and have so much more energy than before. It really feels good. I am enjoying this challenge and my health is getting so much better for doing it!

YES exercise always lowers blood sugar. You literally burn it up with exercise.

Surely someone told you that right off !!

The fact that you can identify the challenges you're facing and also point specifically at the positives you're creating is excellent! Making changes to our usual habits is hard work, and you're learning that it takes patience and determination for those habits to stick. Keep looking at all of the positives you're learning and implementing, and feel good about those changes. You have a lot of support here!

If you make your self some healthy small snacks like fruit or some almonds , A boiled egg, anything you like, you can have that ready in the refrigerator for snack time. Sit down with a glass of water or whatever you drink and enjoy the pick me up. It works for me and it might help you to keep your sugars more stable through the day. I hope so you are doing so well but we have to get you comfortable with this so you can move on to doing it on your journey to a healthier lifestyle. HUGS Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I think that learning all that is almost as important as loosing weight. It will seem more important after the weight is off. I am still learning too and am shocked at a lot of stuff. Congratulations on your success.

This week has been a little bit harded. One, the exercise pick up was hard to adjust to. Two, I was tired. I didn't get full nights sleep so I was worn out. Three, I am getting a little more impatient. Four, my little dog has deserted me for my husband after all I am not snacking like my husband so the dog has left me for more calorie laden pastures.

I did learn some important things this week. The main thing has been about sleep. Lack of it causes my sugars to rise and my desire to eat to increase. I have decided that diabetes is a disease of schedule. I have to eat at certain times because if I get to hungry, my sugars go up.

I am learning patience. I have been tempted to jump on the scale this week since I didn't have any weight loss this past week. I thought I had lost a pound, but found that was inaccurate.

Today, I am a little down. Probably because I am tired. I am actually allowing myself to feel things for the first time in years without stuffing those feelings with a sandwich or something else carbie as those are the things that I seek for comfort foods. Too bad it isn't celery...lol

Every week I am learning something new. So now I say good bye week four and look forward to the things I will learn during week five. emoticon

I want to thank all of you that have read my posts and blogs for the encouragement you have given me. It has been such a great help. With your help, I have made it half way. I am looking forward to the changes I see during the next four weeks. emoticon

The Lord doesn't expect us to work harder than we are able. He doesn't (nor should we) compare our efforts to those of others. Our Heavenly Father asks only that we do the best we can - that we work according to to our full capacity, however great or however small that may be.
