starting week 6 ~ appetite reset in the 1st week, but hard first few weeks, and am now on a roll. this week focusing on satisfying/balanced meals/stay in suggested carb ranges

10 Aug, Wk 6, Day 8? Where've I been? I am done with this week. YaY!

8 Aug, Wk 6, Day 6: My scaled smiled at me today and I smiled back! No retaining water for me until after Sunday weigh-in, y'hear!

7 Aug, Wk 6, Day 5: Again, Feeling fine. Lousy lunch out, today -- too much grease. Celery and tomatoes for dinner to stay within the boundaries.

6 Aug Wk 6, Day 4: Feeling good. I rarely drink sodas, but use a glucose test strip to make sure there's no sugar in the drink

Wk 6, Day 3 Crabby today, but still added more cardio time

Wk 6, Day 2. Feeling better (don't know why I felt worse); I am doing what I should be doing.

emoticon hard to believe I'm wrapping up week 6! woot! -- just had my morning fasting bs drop into the 120s 2 days in a row... it's a new low and exciting! Onward! Downward!

It's frustrating when you have done so much exercise/work and the scale actually goes up. It could be just water in my muscles repairing from all the extra work. I hope so. That will go away in a couple days. Still frustrating though.

I'm having trouble eating enough food to stay in my recommended range while adding in all this extra exercise from moving the rocks. I'm just not that hungry at all. I tried eating extra chicken last night about an hour after we ate dinner. Today I'm planning on adding in 2 extra snacks of nuts and greek yogurt.

Moved 5 wheelbarrow of rock over to the new garden. It's starting to take shape and I think I have enough rock to put over by the new shop in the cactus area. I think that might make the property look balanced a little. We'll see.

Emancipated 1.5 pounds this last week. I'll take whatever I can get!! Started unloading trailer. Last week I spent 4 days outside working around the elements without having allergy problems. Yesterday I was out for only 30 minutes and broke out in hives. Texas just does not love me. I am sad....LOL

All the rock work and hill climbing and packing didn't help to lose any weight but then sometimes it takes a few days for the body to release the excess water in the muscles as they are repairing themselves. It was a good week of work and now it's time to unload the trailer! Have to wait for the rain to subside.

Exercising and eating is going well. I'm glad for the challenge to keep me motivated and on track.

mid-week 6, imagine! had a lower fbs 136 this morning! excited. have seen this very intermittently - they trend in the 150s/60s - so it is encouraging to see these lower ones on occasion - hoping they become the new norm or lower! how cool would that be?? Onward!

day 2. fbs 153. too high, it's why I'm here!

I had breakfast but I still want to eat. lots and lots and lots more! glad we have the diabetes tracker to help us understand how much to eat. I will do that today, and I will eat more, when I need more. I will not die because I did not eat a whole pie! LOL, I know it's silly but dang, that's how I feel today... it will not kill me if I don't eat a feast today! in fact, eating a feast would hurt me, so I will eat enough, not too much, not too little. yes, thankful we have the tracker!

g'morning - nice to see other people make it this far in the challenge; encourages me :)

day 1 week 6 woot!

fbs 142 - lower than when I started, so encouraged, and down 10 lbs from start, a bit of increased energy through day. exercise duration/intensity improving as well, and still tracking on the SPd tracker. Must say I am so thankful for this challenge, it has given me structure to jumpstart and move forward again! I did this when it was brand new, but even as a redo, it is giving me a morning focus on self-care :)

Onward!

Feeling much better --- FBS 103 but weight still up may be inflammation rather than wt gain per se - but so many health issues it is hard to say... 2# up from claimed low so not concerned as long as it doesn't go higher. Good carb control until late evening on market days....

Hard day yesterday and gave in to ice cream last night Ö

Today FBS was up and My lungs are hurting - CHF hitting again ...grrrr. WIll really rest much today among required errands. Back to herbal tea and simple egg omelet this morning.

103. Happy with better number. I am beginning September officially 204# which is lowest claimed weight in 37 years.... Very slow loss but also thankful for the loss

FBS107 - final hard working day of this week and I got rebellious tonight and ate off plan - will probably sffer for gluten and expect FBS to be off tomorrow but have gotten it out of my craving spot and will be back on basic track tomorrow and rest!!! Then on to week 7

My A1C was 13.8% 7 months ago when I was in the hospital. Three months ago I got it down to 5.4%, but I was still on insulin. This week it was tested at 5.8%, that being totally off of insulin. I want to get it back to 5.4% without insulin, but just doing it naturally. My weight is down 55 pounds, I eat correctly, no sugar in 7 months (no pizza, I love pizza) I need to absain from all this because if I get a taste I will NOT stop.

Week 6 Action Plan
Follow your workout video. Using the same workout video (or printable alternative) form last week, aim for three strengthening workouts this week. Try these seated workout options if you're struggling with limited mobility or diabetes complications.

Burn extra calories. Add just 5 minutes to each cardio session this week for a total of four 20-minute aerobic workouts. This will help you get even better results!

Track your food. At least 3 days this week, record everything you eat on your Nutrition Tracker. This will encourage you to make healthy choices and think before you bite.

Drink 8 cups of water each day. Can water help with weight loss? Research suggests yes. But drinking more will also help you stay hydrated now that you're exercising regularly, and water is a great replacement for caloric (and sweetened) beverages, which add calories and carbohydrates to your diet and can affect your weight and blood sugar levels.

Additional Goal
Take evening medications!!

Had to wear a jacket and scarf because it was very windy today but walked 33 minutes outside. Enjoyed the walk. Gaining weight again so need to make changes in diet again.

Got 8.5 hours of sleep and Walked outside 21 minutes. If I had a jacket it would have been longer.

4/4/16 Week 6 Day 1 FBS 120 mg/dL. Woke to swollen glands that were cutting my airway in my throat. If I had not had my CPAP machine it would have really been bad. Hope that it clears up soon because I really need to go for my walk. I really don't feel well right now.

Wk 6, Day 1

I've done a few things right - I've tracked every bite, I've done a min of 40 min of cardio every lay, and a min of 10 min of ST every day for the entire past week. What I've done wrong is, three days in a row eaten all the easter candy (fortunately, only 1 8 oz bag of jelly beans, and 4 cadbury eggs), and several handsfull of cashews; all which raised my glucose up by an average of 10 points each of those days, and showed a weight gain of 3 pounds. I don't like me at all.
Today is over, tomorrow is another day, Friday is Good Friday, and two of my kids and their kids are coming for a 10-day visit; dh has asked me three times where the kids will be sleeping, and 3 times if we have non-allergic food for the gk who is allergic----he nor his family are coming, and twice where that family is going to sleep. I should be happy, but all I do is.....

I lost what I had regained plus 0.2 lbs. for a total of 3.8 lbs. this past week. It was a week of vacation for hubby so I had him home more and we ate out three times during the week but it was also a time for me to practice following my food plan while dining out and it worked.
I have been tracking every 'bite lick and taste' for 42 days consecutively. YEA!

Although I didn't exercise specifically I did move more because we were out and about.

FBS is 112 mg/dl. The lowest it has been since I started the SP Diabetes Meal Plan on January 4th.

yesterday was a bust - had the "dawn phenomenon" .. could not sleep - hot - up for an hour or so at 4am...
slept good last night and feel good today .. what a difference a day makes .. also sun is shinning this morning - rarely see it this past week - now calling for more rain and the hurricane .. oh joy

I'm here. FBS outrageous today! Had roadtrip yesterday & ate simple carbs...another no-no. But had a good time & got lots of exercise walking around HUGE hobby/craft store!!
