The stress of having company is something I will need to work on. My family does not take health seriously if it interferes with the way they think I should eat and drink. Interesting.

Had a glass of wine with my sister and did not enjoy it at all. Amazing. Plus my weight is stalled again. Too much exercise, not enough calories? Or wine?? All things come to an end.

I never would have guessed that I could get in 2 miles of walking just cleaning the house. It was deep cleaning for fall (and arrival of my sister and BIL) day. I've bumped my veggie intake for the day up to 7-9 servings and it is actually pretty easy! I'm satisfied with that!

thank you, you too! I was thinking of doing again, or the 30 day weight loss for diabetes one next, then this again. I find the daily focus is helping emotionally, and am seeing improvements in bs, very happy about that!

Mon 8/20 FBS 110 Yep, I'm convinced no more ice cream until I find a Low carb, sugar free to make or buy. Today trying to get back in the saddle to do alternate down days of 500 calories and others be "UP Days" of 1200 calories - This helped me break a plateau once before and fits my goals and efforts if I can stay focused. Good first day thus far!!!

The program works. My numbers are down dramatically. From 7 months ago my A1C went from 13.8% down to 5.4% My fasting blood-sugar is 98. I lost 54 pounds. I eat correctly and jog 5 miles every morning. I no longer take insulin. I was checking in with my Diabetic Doctor every week with my log book now she wants me to check in every other week, stating to me "Whatever you're doing Bill keep doing it."

FBS for 4/3/2017 is 123. I had a great Dr. appointment last week. My Doctor was thrilled that I've lost weight and my H1C is going down. She told me to keep up the good work and she would see me again in June. I must keep my resolve to get my diabetes controlled so I can stay on just one med and no insulin. I feel walking, eating the right foods, and portion control are all working for me.

Keep it up!!

FBS for 3/30/17 is 99. I'm feeling a little under the weather today with a sore throat and neck ache. I don't like being sick so I'm hoping this is just a "change-in-the-weather" response from my body.

Keep it up!!

Just prediabetic and doc doesn't have me checking daily blood sugar. I'm getting in 10,000 steps daily with the fitbit in addition to the workouts here. This challenge has really helped me with eating right.

Week 7
The 8-Week Diabetes Weight Loss Challenge
A no-excuses plan to eating more fruits and veggies

FBS
Sun 8/21
Mon 8/22
Tues 8/23- 138
Wed 8/24 126
Th 8/25 127
Fr 8/26 108
Sat 8/27 107

Moved to Tucson 8/20- didn't do "exercise program", but unpacking boxes, gathering and furnishing an apartment has afforded me ample exercise. Mostly cardio. With the change in altitudes, my breathing became a little more difficult. Is is getting easier.

I resolved my problem taking my evening medications by setting an alarm on my IPHONE- haven't missed a dose yet.

Congratulations making it this far in your weight loss challenge! With just two more weeks to go, we're going to change up your workouts again, and help you continue making improvements to your diet by focusing on one of the most effective ways to boost your health and weight loss: eating more produce.

Week 7 Action Plan
Get your new workout plan. To keep your body challenges, we're switching up your toning workout again for the final two weeks. This week, you'll discover a 15-minute workout using a stability ball, but an equipment-free alternative is also provided if you don't have one. Here are more tips to make our workout plan work for you.

Amp up your cardio Can you add another short cardio session to your weekly workout plan? This week's challenge is to take your cardio to the next level by aiming for five aerobic workouts, lasting 20 minutes each. Because cardio blasts fat, this step will help you uncover those newly toned muscles.

Track your food. At least 3 days this week, record everything you eat on your Nutrition Tracker. Don't forget about beverages and other small tastes throughout the day—they all add up.

Eat 3-5 servings of fruits and veggies each day. The great thing about fruits and vegetables is that they're not only good for you, but they're also low in calories, high in fiber and rich in water, which means they keep you full and can help you lose weight. Aim for at least 3-5 total servings of fruits and non-starchy vegetables this week as outlined by the carbohydrate-controlled diet provided by your healthcare provider.

For my 62nd birthday today I did an 8 minute lower body workout video and a 4 minute Stretching video. I will also be going on a 20 minute or more walk this afternoon when temperature is warmer.

Wk 7, Day 7
Easter happened to me. I succumbed. Sugars are up. Weight hasn't changed. I'm down.
Tomorrow is always going to be better, but, if it actually is, rarely stays that way.
I promise I won't kick myself around over this, but. . . .

I have only been checking in once a week on Day 1. My FBS is now 114 mg/dl down from 137 a few weeks ago. My blurred vision is a lot better and I am not having to go to the bathroom as often. I am kind of stalled on my weight loss but I am just finding that trying to do all of this and keep at it is my biggest challenge. I hope this week will go better. However, yesterday I broke my left foot so that will change my workouts somewhat. I am prepared for that because it has happened before.

Just when I had been chiding myself for not having even apples or oranges or bananas on hand for quick snacks, here i am given the objectives of having 3 fruits or vegs daily - or is it that 'try for 3 a week at a minimum'.

Whatever, will try to have 3 or 4 fruits and vegs a day going forward.

am tracking food and fitness daily, for now.

walking every work day. and i work full-time

trying to cycle on the sixth day of the week, when i'm off work

had a community pool day yesterday - will try to keep that up - it's good toning for my body and inner thighs and hamstrings and hips and rest of legs - if i could just keep up with the pool.

a Team Lead - for Leaving 240-ville, Leaving 270-ville and Leaving 250-ville teams. Let's Go Teams!
