Week 7 Day 6 FBS: 99 Now to have a week of under a 100 in fasting blood sugars and then I can move up to phase 2 of adding back very slowly carbs.
Have done my exercises, drinking my water, tracking my foods and thinking about the last week of this challenge.

Wishing every one a day filled with happiness, joy and challenge ! WE all have what it takes to beat this diabetes. We just have to put into practice what we have learned here and in other places.

Week 7 Day 5: FBS 100 so good to see them down once again. To get it there I did have to add my bedtime insulin again, but what works works! Don't know how the doc will feel about all that but with that last one being 202 before going back to old ways with the insulin I may have a chance to drop my A1C still.

Exercise I have learned something from talking with a specialist . There are some diabetics that can only work out for 15 min time frames because other wise it causes the blood sugars to rise higher rather than drop. Having something to do with the body releasing more glucose and the blood stream and there not being enought insulin to handle it. So all those times that I'd push on past the 15 mins didn't do me as well, as doing my 4-5 15 min workouts. Glad I was doing something right there too.

As quickly as these 7 weeks have moved right along. July has been the longest month of the year for me. I'm so happy to be in August !

I can't thank you all for the support that you have given over these 7 weeks. It makes so much of a difference in whether someone continues on with the challenge. About a week ago I started my 30 day cure to diabetes eating plan once again and I really think along with the challenge is why I'm seeing progress that I have not seen in the past. Now standing firm on the fact that I'm 10 % less of me, gives me the desire to push forward and stay with the healthy lifestyles that I have been making.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon TOO !!!!

Hello Week 7!

Day one. I feel on top of thigs: my eating habits, tracking, meeting my exercise goals. I've lost 15 pounds so far! I'm down a size in clothes, had to buy new exercize clothes. I also purchased a set of weights, a small exercise ball, and a food scale.

More and more I'm feeling like this is my new life. Less and less do I feel like I'm on a "diet" - in fact, I'm learning to hate that word! I eat what I want to eat - within limits. My energy is better, I sleep better, my body feels better over all.

Let's conquer this week!

Week 7 Day 3 FBS 93 now we're talking ! Thats what I like to see first thing in the morning !

My Mom always told me that there where no calories or sugar in licorice sticks. What was she thinking??

Got all my exercise in today, and then melted into the recliner for an afternoon filled with movie ! Just to hot to move !
Thanks CPOPKIE! I have been working on that goal since Feb ! It all takes time. Sure is nice to have those 27 pounds gone ! Have a great Weekend !!!!

Week 7 day 2 ! FBS 117 Woohoo !!!!
I had a shingles vaccine on Tues. everything was fine until Thur morning. Woke up with my arm swollen and red and very hot ! Then it started to icht. Just couldn't find my way to the computer so I cleaned the house instead.
Have been doing the stability Ball exercises If that isn't a hoot ! Tracking my food and drinking my water. This past week I finally got past 260 !!! I was down to 258 what a great feeling. I have in the 6 weeks lost 7 pounds and 11 inches ! It feels so great to be under 260 !
Thanks everyone for the encouragement along the 6 weeks. I hope that everyone will be as successful as I have been. I need to look back and see what I was shooting for this time around. It really doesn't matter. As of Thur. I have this year now lost that 10 % of my body weight that my doctor was telling me I needed to lose to help with the diabetes. !!!!!

Today's fbs was 118. 7-day average is 121, 14-day average is 124, and 30-day average is 120. That's a major drop from before!! I'm very proud.

We had summer like temps, high 80's and into the 90's for almost two weeks. But now we are back to more springlike weather. Rainy, cloudy and in the high 50's. Only thing wrong with that is it just really flares up the aches and pains of arthritis. Makes it hard to do the workouts and walking, but I've still kept up with the walking. And the food and drink tracking. I can't believe it's just one more week.

Thanks Prairiscrocus, I think you are right and thank you for your concern. I know a fella who used his as a chair at his desk and it works well for him.

Week 7 Day 7 - can't believe it's been three days since I posted. Mother-in-law in hospital; meals and exercise - doing the best I can. Today I walked to a great little cafe near the hospital for black beans and rice with homemade salsa & lots of cilantro, all organic. I ended up over calories, but not badly. Too many phone calls, etc to make to get in a video as I'd intended before leaving for the hospital--but I did think of walking around the house while making and taking the calls. In tough times, gotta improvise! Hanging in there. Prayers please for mother-in-law, in her 90s, slight stroke and other problems.

Hiya everyone
thanksPrairiecrocus for your concern..
As you notice I'm back on week 7.. I had very severe cramps for a week and then some for nearly everyday....
so i was unable to do exercises for more than 2an a half weeks..I stopped tracking altogether but now I feel a little better..and am back tracking...
I wanted to properly finish the 8 weeks so here i am...
I havent had time for exercise these last 2 days.. gonna try get some in this evening..
My daughter's back with me now and its parent evening at her college.. so have to go there first...
The good news is i didnot put any weight on.. but i didnot lose any with just watching my food without exercise...
I'm happy with that.. no weight gain and any loss will be good for me as i take alot of med and have to eat properly...
I did alot of rearanging to get place for my daughter's things and get her a comfortable bedroom.. i did get through between and even with the cramps...
Now it's time to get serious again.. and back ontrack hhaha...
have a good day everyone...

SWEETISHA1, and GOHUSKERS2 - I would NOT worry about getting a stability ball !
I'm sure the Team Leaders would prefer that you do another good workout, that doesn't
require the stability ball, if the stability ball is a problem !

FBS this morning was 178 because i fell asleep without taking my meds or insulin last night. wow, what a difference. Last check it was 94 so it definitely makes a huge difference. I'm not sure I can do that many 20 minute workouts but will give it a shot. Continue to track food and drink, as always. I'd be lost without that.

Week 7 Day 4 - wakeup stretching, 1 hr brisk walk, did errands on foot. After figuring out what I'd done for breakfast, I added a video, too.

508 breakfast - should have weighed that stir-in cayenne pepper cocoa spoon before melting it in my almond milk. ARRGH! Had to re-enter numbers; forgot to add the turkey bacon. Darn it! I was doing fine with grapefruit and a low-cal version of egg mcmuffin until I decided to have that gourmet chocolate spoon I'd treated myself to. Should have looked up approx calories BEFORE I had it. Oh well, next time...And wouldn't you know, I have a wedding dinner tonight. Better get in some more exercise!
296 lunch - water-packed tuna, strawberries, organic cornbread plain, Imagine broccoli soup with T raw sunflower seeds
104 snack - water-packed tuna, small apple

It was, even without dessert! I've never had a spinach and artichoke quiche.

Week 7 Day 2 is off to a great start. I've eaten a filling and healthy breakfast, done my video and some extra strength training. Today's project: Organized Life team's Attack A Pile Today. I'm going to set my timer and attack the bedroom. Seems like anything that needs to be quickly out of sight ends up in there, along with the two baskets of laundry that need putting away.
