Thank you Beth! That does sound like a good idea planning the day before instead of as I go. I just got my book in the mail today...did you read it yet? I was very proud of myself for having people eating doughnuts in front of me yesterday and having the boxes staring at me and I didn't cave. I'm glad to meet you and great that we can relate! Have a great day! emoticon

Oh my goodness! I can definitely relate! I have tip that works sometimes is reminding myself of my goals. I read a quote on a comment someone else wrote. The quote is “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!”. I have been trying to physically walk away from the temptations around the office and at home, QUICKLY remind myself of the quote, and then when I am away from temptation, really think about my long terms goals. Having the strength to walk away initially gives me a rush of confidence in myself to not go back to the temptations! Usually I really just have to get my real goals back in the front of my mind. I have seen the idea on here about making a goal card to keep in my wallet or my pocket. I think I am going to work on that this weekend, so that I can have a physical reminder of goals as I think about them.

Also I recently read about planning a “treat” into my meal plan. I am going to start using the nutrition tracker to plan my meals the day before, instead of what I do now which is tracking as I go through my day. My thinking is, if I can plan a “treat” each day, maybe for after dinner, I’ll have something definite to look forward to. This way I can tell myself “I am going to skip the donut now, because I will have my chocolate after dinner”. It seems like it could work, I will let you know if it works out.

If you find something else that works, please let me know. It’s a constant battle for me too! Good luck meeting your goals!

I was doing well all week dispite working 10 hours days until last night. I have been so stressed at work due to lay offs and seeing so many of my friends leave, plus (I'm not trying to be inappropriate here) but my monthly cravings have also kicked in full gear...any suggestions to help control them? I did well at work yesterday eating and even turned down the doughnuts that people were eating in front of me all day but then bombed when I got home last night and the whole night. I'm having eater's remorse now and kicking myself in the butt. I will kick myself in the butt at exercise today but also have to go to a birthday party tonight and worried about that. My carb cravings are bad right now and am having trouble dealing with them!
