Hello Everyone!

I just wanted to let you all know that I have set up NBLC2. It is open for signup until Saturday June 12th. It is going to be just a little different this time. Instead of having groups of 5 everyone is going to find a partner and do it in pairs. I have had some people tell me they like this better than the larger groups and some people told me they like it better with the larger groups. So for round 2 I am going to try the pairs and see how it turns out. Then re-evaluate for NBLC3. I think this may work better and we will have less people drop. But we will see, I could be wrong.
I have also had people tell me they would like to have mini weekly challenges to keep each other motivated. I am trying to figure out a way to do these and have "bonus points" added to your weekly total. This is in the works and hopefully will work out so we can do that as well.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I hope everyone is willing to participate in the 2nd round of NBLC!

Woohoo! Gooooooooooo Barb!

I have done pretty well today; eating will be under 1200 cal. as I am about done eating for the day. I didn't do any cardio today but I worked outside in my garden in the hot sun for 3 hours so I'm going to count that as my workout. I'm beat! (but my garden is shaping up nicely)

Much better with my calorie deficit today. I really surprised myself with a deficit of -700!! I did some step aerobics along with a little bit of gardening and even some dancing. It really added up!!

I've seen several friends go through divorces and it seems to be a rough road, no matter what the reason for it. God has blessed me with a wonderful husband. He's not perfect, but neither am I. We have our struggles and do our best to work through them.

I trust each of you will be able to readjust and move forward again in your lives.

I didn't do very well with my calorie deficit yesterday since I didn't get any exercise accomplished. Deficit for the day was -54. Today should be better.

I hear you, Amy! My divorce will be final in August, and being 'divorced' is really not what I want, but there comes a point when you realize that you just can't live like that. My husband never really did anything wrong; he just didn't do anything and I got tired of playing second fiddle to the TV. He keeps asking me if I miss him and, it sounds awful to say, but I don't. There was never anything to miss. Lisa

Thanks for your kind words. It sounds awful to say that was what I wanted, but that is the point I was at. I honestly believe my ex never really wanted to be married. The first phone call from a woman looking for my husband came a month after we were married; it just snowballed and continued for 8 more years. It really was for the best to end it, at least for my sake.

Anyway, onwards and upwards from here!

Amy, sorry about your divorce. Even though it is what you wanted, it still is a rough process to go through and readjust your life.

I've got meal plans in the nutrition tracker for the next few days. I haven't done that for awhile and it makes a big difference for me. Even though I've been learning to make better choices, without the tracker I tend to allow myself more than what I need.

I have the final school performance tonight and then I'm done for the summer. This week my goal is to track all my food again and do enough exercise to achieve at least a daily -500 calorie differential.

Yep, it's windy again today, but the sun is shining too!! Have a great day, everyone!

Well, I managed to lose a couple more somehow. My eating and exercise have been a little off this week. Tomorrow is my day off so will be going to the chiropractor. I would love to spend some time working in the yard and/or riding my horse when I get home but the wind is supposed to be blowing really hard again. I'm getting really tired of wind. Sorry to hear things have been rough for you Barb. I've had a bad few weeks as well; my divorce was finalized about a week and a half ago. That was a tough week; the divorce was what I wanted but still need to get things settled around here.

I had a really rough week and put on two pounds. My goal this week is to take those off right away and hopefully one more pound.

I've really missed the opportunity to connect with this group the past few weeks. I'm trusting this week will be better for me. I need to be tracking my food again as well as connect with each of you. Looking for a strong finish to this month!!

How has everyone done this week? I have had a better week than last week, however, I feel like I've been moving like a slug when I'm working out. Just can't find any energy. Hoping next week is better.

I did take my daughter to the zoo (Henry Doorly in Omaha)today and saw the new Madagarscar exhibit which was really neat.

We can do this!

I'm struggling with computer problems and using DH computer for internet connection. So I'm not able to get on the internet near as often as usual.

This week I look to maintain my weight loss. I have a 5K run to do on Saturday in Kansas City. I want to stay even to keep my endurance up for the run.

I miss connecting with the team but will do my best to get in here when I can.

Thought I heard from a speaker recently:
There's a cost to changing, but there is a higher cost to not changing!
The changes we are learning through this challenge will be well worth it in the long run!

Did everyone have a great weekend?

I did! I ate pretty well. I admit it, I shared a piece of five layer chocolate cake with my friend on Saturday. I further admit it was delicious - but I only ate 1/4 of it before it started hanging heavy in my stomach and I stepped away from the cake LOL This is progress for me because six months ago I would have been tempted to eat the whole piece! OMG it was good though. I had great workout today to make up for it emoticon

Well, I didn't work out at all today; I was in such a bad mood and feeling so run-down when I got home from work that I went horseback riding to cheer myself up and ended up getting myself bucked off. Oh well, it was a good ride before and after anyway, and I still feel better than I did when I got home. Keeping my fingers crossed for the weigh-in tomorrow.

Even though you didn't burn as many calories as you wanted to burn, you still burned more calories than you would have had you not done it at all. Way to go Lisa!!

Did a harder 60 minutes aerobics instead of my usual 30 minutes. It felt really good!!

Think about this: We can do one small thing today that will change all of our tomorrows. What will you change that will help bring you closer to your goal? For me, I'm planning to get to bed before 11 pm so I can get up early enough for a relaxed workout.

I didn't get my run in today. It was just so cold and windy. So I guess this became a "rest" day. Tomorrow I'll do some aerobics and then a long run on Saturday.

Thanks Barb!! Now if I could just get my legs to cooperate and not cramp up on me and get out there and KICK the soccer ball this weekend LOL

I just read in a Fitness magazine yesterday that on average a soccer player runs 6 miles in one game. Whew! No wonder it's such a great workout!

I had a great day! Ate great! Worked out hard!

I can't visualize what I will look like in a smaller outfit in my closet because I don't own any LOL I only own "transition clothing" right now as I continue shrinking. But I've been dreaming about what I will look like in those cute clothes again.

I did have fun today wearing a cute skirt and top to have coffee with an old friend. I'm still having a hard time looking in the mirror and realizing that is ME looking back! Yeah!!

This morning I did part of a new cardio dance DVD. It was really fun and I look forward to learning the whole routine.

More than half way through this second week!! Everyday does make a difference!!

I don't have to picture it, they are folded up in my dresser drawer. I have 2 pairs of jeans that I gave up on a couple months ago because they just got too tight. I am off work today so eating will be an issue and the wind is blowing 25 miles an hour again, so won't be doing a lot outside, but have some housework in mind that needs to be done. I actually do ignore the phone when I'm working out, it's those ones that catch me just before and last for an hour that get me. I have decided that I need to be more forceful in getting people off, but I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Had a great workout tonight; I worked on the bowflex for a half hour and then half hour on the elliptical. Lisa

Suggestion: I treat my workouts at home as if I've gone to the gym. I can't answer the phone at the gym and don't answer it at home when I'm doing a workout.

So far, so good. Days are pretty easy, I'm at work from 7 am until 4:30 or 5 pm, so can only eat what I take in my lunch (I have a lot of willpower while I'm packing my lunch)then I get home and the phone rings and I can't work out while talking on the phone, so I grab another beer and then the person on the phone ticks me off so I grab another, and then someone else tries to call, over and over again knowing that I will not answer my call waiting, and that REALLY ticks me off. So I told them tonight that I would not be answering the phone, they'll just have to wait for me to call them. Besides, Biggest Loser is on tonight, so I won't talk on the phone anyway. Walking doesn't hurt; elliptical doesn't hurt. It's running that hurts like no other. I'm going to look around on Spark and see what exercises I can do to gently stretch the muscle and loosen it up.

I have been doing great on my eating plan; however, exercising HURTS. I strained one of my quad muscles a week ago playing soccer and it still hurts. I have given myself a week to heal; now it is time to push through the pain and get moving again and get the rest of this weight off.

Did 30 min. on the elliptical today and worked in the flower garden for awhile. Eating not great, but making some revelations in the eating department. Have a great week everyone! Lisa

Just stopped by to say "howdy" to my new team mates. This has been a rough week for me schedule-wise. I'm doing most of my exercising but it's been harder to follow my eating plan. My schedule will ease up after today. I'll be ready to refocus my efforts.

Let's get fired up this week team!

Does anyone have any fun ways to work out planned?

I will go play soccer on Saturday night... provided my legs aren't still sore. I strained one of my quads this past Saturday playing soccer so I worked out gently yesterday and today. Outside of that, no really fun ways to work out planned for me.

Ok, so now that you see your group numbers here is how it was figured overall. To get the correct numbers I plugged your numbers into this formula:
todays wt-starting weight/starting weight x 100= % body weight lost

701.2-703.5/703.5X100=0.33%

So far this week, I did the elliptical for an hour yesterday and 45 minutes today. I also worked out a bit using my exercise ball.

Go team! I'm ready to do this! I just got an elliptical and just in the nick of time- -it's raining today and the only other cardio I get is walking with my dogs. I had a lousy day today nutritionally, but had a great hour-long workout when I got home, so I'm feeling good! Good Luck everyone! Lisa

Hi Lisa!

I'm a medical transcriptionist. I've been doing this job for almost 20 years now, been working out of my home for about the last 6 years. I love the freedom it affords me in my schedule - and I love being home with my daughter.

I'm currently going through a divorce with no end in sight. Argh. That is a huge source of stress in my life so I'm certain that's a huge part of why I'm having trouble shaking this last few pounds to get to goal.

I'm located in LaVista; where in Nebraska are you?
