Hello Everyone!

I just wanted to let you all know that I have set up NBLC2. It is open for signup until Saturday June 12th. It is going to be just a little different this time. Instead of having groups of 5 everyone is going to find a partner and do it in pairs. I have had some people tell me they like this better than the larger groups and some people told me they like it better with the larger groups. So for round 2 I am going to try the pairs and see how it turns out. Then re-evaluate for NBLC3. I think this may work better and we will have less people drop. But we will see, I could be wrong.
I have also had people tell me they would like to have mini weekly challenges to keep each other motivated. I am trying to figure out a way to do these and have "bonus points" added to your weekly total. This is in the works and hopefully will work out so we can do that as well.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I hope everyone is willing to participate in the 2nd round of NBLC!

I can relate to finding it hard to star the exercising. I walk a ton at work but it's start, then stop, then start, etc. I'm on my feet for about 5 hours a night but doesn't seem to put a dent in my weight. Plus we eat a lot - we reward people with food.....much like I've done myself all my life!

I saw that Burger King was selling ribs now and went to look at the nutritional information on the BK website. I was shocked - was eye opening for me. Now I realize that little hamburger isn't so little any more.

I was just allowed to start exercising last week...and I am having a hard time getting into it. I really like Billy Blanks, but keep putting off putting that tape in the machine.

I mostly have been tracking food on here. I too am a big restaurant person, but see pretty quick results when I stop eating out all the time. I hate it, but I don't think there is a good way to tell how many calories are reaching your plate in a restaurant. It is particularly hard for me because I tend to go to local ethnic restaurants and just make a guess based on the average calorie counts on this site.

Ummmm JJ - am not sure how many of us are left but I'm sure the two of us can at least make the other teams nervous.

Do you follow any set program - such as the one on here, weight watchers or just practice portion control. My downfall is eating out as it's just me and I hate to cook. Plus I'm horrible at it.

Have you found someone to walk with? I keep hoping my hours at work will change but think the only way that may happen is if I get fired.....and since I've become accustomed to my paycheck I better just hang in with what I've got at work.

JJ - wish I could meet you for a walk and get things going on my end. Unfortunately I go to work about 2 p.m. and if it's a good night get out by midnight. Not a lot of walkers out there at midnight!

I need to not eat out also. It's just so easy and convenient and then I don't throw things away at home. Would save me a ton of money. I start out the day with a $20 bill and the next day it's gone.

I am really trying to cut down on the eating out this week. I actually have had one day where I did not eat a single meal out. That is progress for me!

Anybody in Omaha on this team? Want to meet to walk to kick the last couple of weeks of the challenge into gear?

I didn't have a good weigh in week - gained a pound. It's this late night eating we do at work - need to super glue my mouth shut I think!

JJ - great job on the pound loss though. At least you're headed the right way.

I'm such a quirky eater that the food tools here and I don't always see eye-to-eye. Since you feel it's a good tool I'm going to give it a go again and see how it works for me.

Just found out that because my failure to post was due to computer problems I can still be involved in the challenge! I will post my weight loss next week.

Also, I have really been using the food diary on this site, and the scale is really moving. It is a great tool. Anyone else tracking food?

Am back from vacation - was great, restful and I even managed to eat decent, walk and do the water thing.

I understand that. Hubby and I have a big day planned for tomorrow. It includes 2 restaurant meals by necessity. I'm almost afraid of weighing in on Sunday.

As for breaking the cycle... Try thinking about the cost associated with eating out compared with buying groceries and dining in.

So They decided to split up and make the groups of 4 have 5 people again. The person who was dropped from you team prior to this will have no affect on your team. Well it looks like our team will be working under a pretty big handicap for the rest of the challenge. I was a bit surprised that was how it worked when someone dropped, but it does mean we need to seriously set some goals and hit them this week. As a rip off of Celebrity Fit Club I am going to give my self a weight loss goal of 3 lbs this week....anyone else?

Ok, so now that you see your group numbers here is how it was figured overall. To get the correct numbers I plugged your numbers into this formula:
todays wt-starting weight/starting weight x 100= % body weight lost

1156.8-1165.4/1165.4 x 100= 0.74%

One last piece of info: Unfortunately you guys lost a team member. Karibaugher did not submit a weight. When this happens her starting weight will remain with your group. But her weight will constantly stay the same.

Looks like everyone is losing for the challenge! I am always ok on water intake, but I am really struggling with exercise right now. I was in a car accident in january and I am just now 2 weeks into PT. The doctor will not allow me to do anything with my upper body, and I find walking boring. I just need to suck it up because I hate to lose!

How has everyone done on the water/3 day exercise challenge? I did 2 days of exercise, not nearly enough. Did great on the water! I don't track it on here like I should. On a happy note, I've lost 3 pounds. I think some of that had to do with major water retention but a loss is a loss and I'm counting it!!! lol Hope everyone can check in ~ don't forget to weigh in today!! Like the challenge. I know that I struggle with water intake. With where I work, I never know if I am going to get to a bathroom, so I tend to drink less... and by the time I get home, I have forgotten about water entirely.

Exercise is easy right now. My week is planned out for 6 days of intense workout. I convinced myself that I could do that P90X workout. I'm 30 days into it. It's great for the heart, great for slimming down the body, but the addition of muscle to my frame has the scale doing strange things.

Oh a happy note, I'm down by 2 lbs this week.

What about making sure we get all our water in. And some form of exercise 3 times a week? I know water is my big deal and right now I don't average 3 times a week in exercise. At least by putting it out there we can hold each other accountable. Maybe?

I think it would be helpful to set up a mini-challenge each week (at least it would help me). How would everyone feel about about doing one for this week where we start today and track calories daily and eat within calories 80% of the time. We could post the calorie amount the following day to keep accountable.
