So its the end of our May Challenge & I lost 6lbs. Now I haven't changed my tracker cause I actually gained more over the winter break. So I am up to doing another challenge for June & July. So are you guys in or what?

God bless & lets think of something interesting to do this time!

Tomorrow & Monday will be a definite obstacle but I am going to my cousins' house tomorrow so I will be okay. I don't normally eat around other people so I might have cake which I am bringing a carmel one at that. Then on Monday it will a hamburger & grilled chicken thigh which I love the thighs! Then it will be a glass of sangaria & a rib or two. Breakfast will be raisin bran as I tend eat light & save my calories for later. The thing will be not to drink more calories & snack on cake all day. So we continue to drink our water & breathe & walk it off if necessary.

I always think you guys can see me since we will probably report what happened as far the challenge. Me I would like to continue the challenge on through the summer cause it is really influencing me in the right direction, I hope it is doing the same for you guys too.

God bless & remembering the fallen on Memorial Day!

Today I feel pretty good but I did have too much desert of ice cream last night. I do allow myself to eat mostly what I want within reason. However, a serving is a 1/2 cup and I can't even guess how much that I had. Sure tasted good, though! I still feel good about my progress.

Now this weekend will be a challenge on Sunday as we are going to a big BBQ on Sunday. I did good last weekend by staying out of the kitchen where the food was and only going in there when I initially ate or got some water. So, I plan on doing that strategy again. I am there for the social and fun aspects - not to pig out like I'm never going to eat again! tomorrow will be filled with getting house stuff done so that I can goof off all day Sunday.

Safe travels everyone!!

Doing ok today Deb but yesterday I was a little off the charts. Then I came back to myself & say why are you ruining all your hard work. I got a little stress & trying not to think about it. Food normally kills any stress or so I used to think. lol

God bless & lets continue to make it happen!!

So far this week feel really good about my plan. yesterday's walk felt great and I'm staying within my ranges. I went to the high end yesterday so I'm going to try to stay at the low end today. Wish me luck!

Well guys my Friday was alright & Saturday wasn't bad but I stepped on the scale & I don't know if its muscle but I gained. So I will be even more careful of what I put in my mouth. I've been doing the workouts, resting, multivitamin, eat fruits & veggies & drinking water, I may have had way too many desserts so I will be very mindful of that & see where I am on Saturday. . . .Although this is the meatier time of the month for me. Maybe I should wait til the 5th of June for my final results? emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hey Rita and Dee!

I hope your feet feel better after the shots, Rita. I had a cortizone shot in my knee a couple of years ago and OWCH!! But, it helped. I just had my feet x-rayed because I've been having problems with painful cramping and one big toe knuckle. What kind of surgery did you have in the past? My doc wants to rule out/in the bones first and then go from there. I've changed to using inserts in my shoes and I'm only getting shoes that have support and that has helped. But, there's something more and we'll see.

Dee, keep up that work out stuff! That's great. Sometimes my motivation isn't what it should be or I get bored so it's time to switch it up for me. I'll look on spark for different things to do.

Well, off to another full day of work. Take care ladies and let's keep up the great work!

Rita sorry about your feet. Mine hurt some times but thats because I move too much & do too much. It used to high heel shoes but I try to switch between flats & heels to give them a rest. I pray the shot works for you & that you there is some alternative to surgery.

I did Jillian yesterday but nibble a little too much but I worked out so hard Tuesday & needed the food but should've made better choices. Today I will do Step Blast & do something with my weights maybe Jillian again.

God bless Ladies, lets make it happen! emoticon Dee

Got to the pool today and ate very healthy breakfast and lunch! Also got cortisone shots in both my feet. Wow! that hurt. My doc said I had the most swelling he had ever seen. Not good. I have to consider surgery again which I really would side line me for a minimum of 12 weeks. Really don't want to do that.
Still crazy busy. School will be over by the end of next week and I can't wait!

Rita - definately get those feet some rest! Sorry to hear about all of your frustration. All of the stuff on your calendar will soon be gone so don't sweat it! You got important stuff to do for a 5 year old - how fun! I hope that you will be able to rest a little during the event. Don't worry about the gym or swimming because you will have time enough for that. You will still be getting exercise, that's for sure! Prayers for a blessed day and lost of rest tonight before the fun.

I am having a rough week. Way to many things on the calendar, finals this week, kindergarten graduation, appointments.... The pain in my feet is back and nearly unbearable again. I'm so upset. I am chaperoning a field trip for my 5 year old tomorrow and was really looking forward to it and now I'm just dreading being on my feet all day and hoping that I can endure.
Yesterday I worked a benefit and was on my feet a lot as well. My food choices are reflecting my mood.
I did not go to the gym today as I had a lot of last minute work to get done for my classes and I just needed some rest this morning. As I'm typing I was going to say but surely I would swim tomorrow...and realized I won't because of the field trip.
I need to get though all this frustration and remember that despite the pain a healthy lifestyle makes me feel better.

Today I am proud that I didn't eat the whole bag of chips at lunch time. I am doing baked chicken, broccoli, wild rice & a slice of honey wheat bread. So what else can I do? Try to elongate the times between meals & wait out snacks.

Congrats Deb on the 1lb! I have stood on the scale yet & I ate hardily last night at TGIF. YIKES!

Tonight its tae bo & weights. I need to jiggle it around a little.

God bless & lets make it happen!! WOOHOO!!

Hey girls!

I am looking forward to a great day and week. I lost 1 lb last week and that's ok. I am starting a wonderful shake for lunch called Shakeology. It has lots of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients and keep my afternoon hunger at bay. I am eating a good breakfast (Kashi, soy milk (silk) and coffee and water) and then 2 snackes (1 am, 1 pm) of fruit or veggies. Then dinner with hubby is usually chicken and veggie with a starch of somekind, tonight I think it's mac and cheese (he really needs this and I take 1/2 cup). So, I'll see how it goes. And, I'm getting in my at least 30 minutes of some kind of exercise.

That's my plan for the week. Hope you have a blessed week!

I didn't do too well on my workout today but its still early I guess. lol Its been a really good week for me as far as food & fitness. My church is doing a 21 day fast to empower us spiritually & that we may move with the power of God. So there are many different types of fast, water only, juice only or the daniel fast which is fruit. The more I search the many different types of fast the more involved in it I become. So I chose to do the sundown fast. Which is I eat when the sun goes down, now Monday I ate like a I had never eaten but then on did really well on Tuesday Wednesday & Thursday. Yesterday, I bombed with pizza. So I decided today to do breakfast only & had lunch & I'm actually doing well. I was thinking of doing a cleanse too since I am still trying to watch what I eat. I just still want to be able to do fitness because during a fast you have less energy.

So great job team!! I also keep trail mix bars or fiber one bars in my purse & I often carry the yogurt in my purse with water. I also like the wethers hard carmel candies & red vines. So we just need to encourage each other to go as healthy as possible.

God bless & enjoy everyday!

This is my third week back at the gym! Even though I missed Monday and Tuesday I went the rest of the week and finished strong. Now the weekend is upon me and it becomes more difficult to eat healthy and excercise. The kids have soccer games, my oldest is in an operetta tonight, I have finals next week and we will be running here and there and I still have lots of gardening to get done. I too can eat things simply out of habit. I have to keep reminding myself that this is not the last time I will be able to eat this food...I can skip it this time and have it next time, or just have a little bit.

Dee - Can I ask why you are fasting during the day? I have done a cleanse before and really enjoyed it.

Had my smoothie this morning. Hubby and I are going out for lunch today and I have to make plans for dinner still. It is a beautiful sunny day here and I want to take advantage of it before the temps drop and the rain comes. :-(

I know it gets rough or we all would be fit & healthy. It takes determination & you both seem to be on that road cause you haven't given up. I am supposed to be fasting during the day time for the next few weeks but I haven't gotten there yet. Didn't do well on Monday but Tuesday was stellar today wasn't the best but I still ate toast & a piece of garlic bread & a pinch of pizza. They weren't even calling me, just out of habit did I have to eat them. So tomorrow I will be stronger. So we all are on the same page if we do something for 3 straight weeks it becomes habit. Join me & lets try to do that.

My hubby does the juicer from Jack LaLane (RIP) he was a very healthy guy & looked good for his age.

Come Deb, we can make it happen together, lets go!

God bless & enjoy everyday!

Bluefish2 (is it Rita?), I've been having bumps all week too. I know I'm not perfect on any single day but I just keep plugging away as I can and try to make some things habit so at least I think of them. And, knowing how you are is very good so that you don't get into self sabotage. Keep up the good work! emoticon emoticon

Hello! I had a bump in the road this week. Didn't make the best food choices and skipped the gym Monday and Tues. It has been a really stressful couple weeks and I know that didn't help. Made better choices yesterday and got back in the gym. All good food so far today and another good swim.

I haven't gotten back on a scale. I am hoping for a lower number when I do. I tend to be obsessive so I don't want to get wrapped up in the numbers and get discouraged. I know it's hard for me to lose and it takes a while for my body to catch on.

Dee - I get my fruits and veggies in by using my blender. Smoothies and today I made a soup from whole foods in the blender. Very good.

Deb - I love those fruit bouquets!

Thats is so wrong on some many different levels. lol I guess she said they were for her & she shared her entire body with you guys so let her be selfish about having the chocolate covered strawberries. At least she shared the fruit with you guys that was nice & that fruit is pretty good too. I actually bought a 4 pack & shared one with my son. They were good but I didn't want to be piggish. So they are there when someone else wants one. I hope they eat them soon or I will have to step up to the plate. lol

I did 40mins of Kickboxing today, 30mins of walking, drank 6glasses of water but didn't get enough rest or fruits & veggies. UGH! I'm working on it.....

God bless & we have to find a way to make it happen.

I think I may have gained my pound back due to strawberries dipped in chocolate, half a cup cake & thin slice of pound cake & taste of strawberry shortcake. . . .So cake was my pizza. . .I won't stand on the scale but I feel bulky from eating like that. Back to work too.

God bless & enjoyed just having a day of catering from my kids. It was really nice. . .

Well, the weekend was great fun but I didn't lose anything and it was because of pizza on Friday! Oh, well, I'll work toward more this week. The weekend was fun, especially yesterday with how nice it was and being Mother's Day. Had my mom and son over and hubby cooked lunch. Nice!

Ok, it's back to work on this losing and getting stronger! I'm going to post this week's list of goals and track them like last week. It seems to help me stay focused.

Sorry you are having foot pain but I think the aquatic swim should help. I always either sit on them in a kneeling position & that seems to help them a little but be careful cause you're putting your whole body weight on them. I also do like a standing twist, I squat a little & I can feel my feet & ankles getting a good stretch too. Deb you are doin well too. Way to go on the food & fitness you guys they both go hand in hand.

Today, I did yoga & Gilad Total Body & did 15mins of cardio. I feel energetic like I could've done the whole 45min DVD but had a family issue come up so I had to stop & talk with my nephew about.

God bless & enjoy everyday!

Deb - What a great attitude! It is a beautiful day out today. My son has his first soccer practice today so I know I'll at least get outside for that. Maybe I can do some of my work outside on the deck this afternoon.

I had a really good swim this morning. Except for the annoying water aerobic woman who shows up early and glares at me because she wants to take the lane lines out for the class early it was great. Had my smoothie. No plans for lunch or dinner yet. Pretty sure we are going out for dinner. I'm lucky that there are lots of restaurants around where I can make good choices. My feet have been hurting me a lot, I hope I can turn that around. Pain sucks.

Good Morning Chicago Team!
I was kinda bad food wise yesterday and not good at the exercise so I'm going to take that as my day off! And, not feel bad about it. Now, back to the right things today. I've gotten some exercise in and will get in a nice walk at Lake Katherine at lunch. I've packed my lunch (I usually do anyway), planned out the day in food. And it's such a beautiful day today!! I am so psyched for the day! Tomorrow is my usual weigh in day so I want to be really, really good today.
Hope you have a great day also and I'll be back later!

Dee - My boys get me into to food trouble sometimes too...they can afford to eat all that "good" stuff. LOL I ate a white castle cheeseburger today since I took them there for a snack after school and there was one left...no use bringing it home... At least it was only one and I was really good the rest of the day. Roomy clothes are awesome! Way to go!

Made a smoothie for breakfast, a veggie stir fry for lunch and some trail mix for a snack. An Enchilada for dinner. I had a good swim this morning, 40 laps.

I have to fix my scale. I weighted myself at the doctors office during my last appointment. There use to be a good scale at the gym but it's gone. I also have to get the tape measure out and take measurments. Not looking forward to that :-(

I had Fridays the other night & although I had sweet potato fries, I also indulged in my sons fries as well. He can put fries away. . .Yesterday I did really good until my older son got a free cup of sundae & it had caramel & whipped cream delicious! I see my waist slimming down & I also feel leg room in my jeans. That's what I am looking for. I will weigh myself on Saturday to see what my slightly pushin it harder brings. I think Boston Market is better than Fridays on anyday! Lets go team!!

God bless & enjoy everyday!

Deb - You did it! That is great. Yesterday I swam and went for a bike ride with the kids after school. I almost threw in the towel this morning making excuses for why I couldn't swim today but I went and had a good swim and stretch. Had my smoothie for breakfast. Tonight is enchiladas for dinner. The turkey stuffed meatloaf is really easy, just a regular meatloaf only with turkey meat, I use 1/2 oats instead of all breadcrumbs then I just wet some stuffing, chop up 1 tablespoon of butter and toss it in. I split the meatloaf in half and put the stuffing in the middle. Bake it for 40-45 at 350. It came to about 240 calories a slice. Not too bad.

I can't wait for tonight. It's my youngest first day of soccer practice. He's very excited!

I did ok today! Got my exercise in and ate ok too. I'm tired thought. Fresh air and exercise does it. Your dinner sounds great! We had broccoli stuffed chicken breast, roasted veggies and 1 serving of cheese bites. Well, off to bed. Ready for another day tomorrow! I'm going to look into making some smoothies. Sounds like a great idea.

Deb - At least you got out once. How did you do today? I had a good workout today. Ate at home today so much easier to control the calories. Made a turkey stuffed meatloaf and some fresh veggies with cranberries. Kinda of spring take on thanksgiving dinner. The kids love it. I've been doing a smoothie for breakfast. Helps me get in my fruits and veggies.

eeek! That's similar to Olive Garden. You think you are eating something healthy like salad until you look it up. Well, it could have been much worse! Keep up the other good stuff you are doing!

I did pretty well but sluffed off on the exercise. Got a 15 min walk in but needed to do something else after work for at least 15 minutes and didn't. No excuse, just didn't. Watched some tv, talked with hubby, on the computer, etc. I'll be a good girl today!
