On the 17 Day Diet a glass of warm lemon water is recommended every morning within a half hour of waking.

I got in the habit of drinking lemon water with other diets over the years. I use lemon juice with water. My family in an effort to get away from soda and other drinks started keeping a pitcher of lemon water in the refrigerator. At night I take a glass of it with me to bed. I drink it with my calcium and what is left in the morning is what I drink first thing in the morning as I'm getting ready for work.

I have come to enjoy the warm lemon water, perhaps because of the 5 or 10 minutes of calmness I have while drinking it. I have always enjoyed ginger tea, and I have simmered a couple of handfuls of ginger for an hour or so to make a potent ginger water. i add about an ounce to my lemon water in the morning and I find it adds to the flavour and enjoyment, but ginger also has some benefits of it's own.

Questions about lemon water pop up from time to time. Here is a list (and the link where I found it) that discusses drinking warm lemon water in the morning. I found it on a link not related to the 17DD. I have no idea how much of the info on the list is accurate, but even if just a few are true, it sounds good to me.

One glass of lemon water in the morning seems pretty moderate to me. As with most things...moderation is best. I would think also that if there are concerns about it harming the teeth, it would be ok to dilute it to 12 oz instead of 8. I have been faithful with my lemon juice for about 8 months and haven't noticed any problems. Was at the dentist in January and had a good report. emoticon

Be careful with lemon water. In spite of the impressive list of ways it is good for you, it will hurt your teeth! (as my mom found out after drinking lots of it)
