Hi SUNNY - Good job on taking control of those yo-yo pounds. One day at a time is all we can do!

FYI- If you are interested in joining us in a little challenge I started a topic on
"Team Mates Sharing" It is called HOLIDAYS are here! Lose 1# a week for 13 weeks. 12/06/19 - 2/28/20.
We challenge ourselves each week- doesn't matter what anyone else weighs.

We start with a weigh-in ANY DAY you choose each week and record our weight every week for 13 weeks on the same day. I find this keeps me accountable. Sometimes it is a loss and some times not but we try for that one pound each week.
Hope you decide to join us. It is fun.

Wow that's great Kathleen. I am looking for that balance. I feel sure I will find it. :)

I'm only beginning week 3 of what I hope will be a new lifetime. But I am down a few lbs (they are the yo you lbs) and I feel good.

Good Morning.
I am doing really good. I happened to find a combo of foods that seem to be working quite well for me. I feel satisfied with my food choices which is keeping me from snacking all day & night and the scale is moving down. Not having the urge to snack is a major accomplishment for me.

Hi everyone, I've worked hard for months to get below 200---it's been brutal! Now I'm working to reach the 170's. You're all motivating me!

I'm making excellent progress! Can't wait to wear some of the great clothes in my closet!

I am so glad to see the scale at 159 this morning. I am out of the 160's and twenty pounds down from 179 on June first. I doubted that this was even possible before I started Keto. I still have a long way to go but time is on my side. We can do this.

Hello-
This week I have been extremely strict with my food/carb choices. I am getting ready to start making a serious effort with following "Lose 1 # a week" for the month of September. I haven't tried this in a long time and I am so ready to hold myself accountable. I always seemed to do well with this challenge. I was going to start on August 30th but I may as well just start this Friday August 23 rd.

My scale was going between 199 something and 202 something yesterday and finally ended up at the higher number. I know that I have been eating more than I should, but have cravings for carbs so bad that I end up giving in. Today, while I got prepared food, I got a couple deli meats and cheeses that I am going to roll together to eat when I am too hot and tired to make much of anything or I'm in a rush so I am not starting out the day with bread.

I am stuck at 164 again. The scale won't budge and I am getting tired of the effort it takes to stay here. My steps have increased from 5800 to 7200 since June so I have increased my exercise. I just want this weight off especially around my middle.

Hello I haven't had much success losing weight over the last two months.

So I came back to the group and just started a monthly challenge for myself on the
Monthly personal goals. When I followed the challenge of "lose 1# a week" I always did better with being accountable weekly. So I'll start again for the month of September.
My first weigh-in will start August 30th and end on September 27th.

EDITED- I changed my mind and will start the challenge on August 23 rd until September 27th
( five weeks)

Don't give up, I know it can feel like you are not getting anywhere but it will turn around, emoticon . I am staying in the low 180's, I do get tired of going back and forth a lb all the the but then I lose and it stay off and I loose another lb and then go back and forth again, but I am glad I tracked for a few years because I can see how far I have come and that I have lost, so far I have lost within 1 year 1018-2019 10 lbs so I can't complain I can rejoice.

I gained again and I cannot figure it out. I know I ate a couple things I shouldn't yesterday (2 moon pies), but other than that I had one egg salad sandwich for breakfast, a very small salad for lunch, a smoked sausage and baked potato for dinner. Other days I've had the egg salad, chicken wings, one day some mashed potato, a piece (sometimes 2) of toast or a good size salad, which I didn't eat all of, low carb (carbmaster) smoothie or yogurt.

I am playing pickleball 3 days a week this month since I am taking a clinic. Otherwise 2 days a week for about 2 hours each day.

I just came back and saw this forum. I wanted to add that if you quit smoking its hard not to gain weight. My mother told me she used to have hard candy.....I would suggest sugarless for those times..... Anyway I am back here again.

It's been slow going for me too. I am doing Keto Phase one and I thought I would lose more than a pound a week. As long as it's coming off instead of going on I should be happy. I want this to be the year that I lose this weight.

I keep going up and I hate it. I play 4 hours of pickleball a week and have been trying to get started in another exercise, though I have missed it due to being sick. One would think I could lose a pound or two or at least stay at where I was. Pickleball is suppose to burn 350 calories per half hour and I usually don't eat all that much.

Weight has ticked up again despite sticking to my parameters. This is very frustrating, but I am staying on track. Exercise could be better, but back, neck and knee issues are getting in the way. I did mange a long walk over the weekend, but paid for it the next day. Weight this morning was down just a little, but it has be up, up, down, and up even more over the past several days. Hopefully, something will give.

I don't own or use a scale, but am down a size each in jeans and tops. I went from 16 jeans to a comfortable 14, and used to buy 1X or XXL tops, and the last few I got were just XL in regular sizes. Woot!

Weight-In 155. Total loss for April was - 4 lost. emoticon

The "No Snacking Challenge" I did for the month of April really helped. I actually made it through without snacking the whole month. I plan on continuing with that challenge for the month of May also. ( This is my worst habit so......one more month might finally break that habit).

Still the same - going to only weigh twice a week. Dr. says every day due to the CHF but I think I will try this. The scale kind of freaks me out.

UGH! I gained 2 pounds. I know why too. Super busy time of the year for me since I do research editing for masters and PHD students at the university here. Of course everyone wants to get theirs done and submitted for changes before May graduation. So, when I feel my sugar getting too low, I will grab the first thing I can find that I know will bring it up enough and that usually means standing over the sink eating a bowl of cereal.

170. At year end I was in the high 160s and I'm still trying to get back down there. I maintained my 60 pound weight loss for 1 year - although I was TRYING to lose more - and now I'm at the beginning of year 3 and I'm trying to get this additional 35 pounds off. I know it will come off very slowly because every pound is a struggle. emoticon

I gained 5 lbs over Christmas but also had a fall on the 24th that prevented me from exercising for 4 days. If I don't exercise I lose my motivation to eat well. I have lost 2 lbs of my gain.

I started the new year off at 164.3 lbs. Last year on January 1st I weighed 177 so I made a little progress. This year I want to do better than that. My goal is to lose five pounds a month. Let's do this.

Hi,
I hope everyone had a happy holiday season. I put on about 7 lbs. since Thanksgiving. Now, the hard work begins! I want to reach my goal by June. I've been at this weight before, it's nice, but I want to weigh less. Besides, I need to wear my skinny jeans.
Best to all.

My weight loss stopped the end of the summer. I think I got to 193 something, but have been around 194 since then. Hoping I can get it started again, but at least get my A1c back down after the holiday season. The entire time I have been trying to lose weight I have not been able to get below 190 so it is really a goal to get to below that at least by March.

Good news all around!

My mother had her knee replaced last year and it took her way less than six months to be pain-free. She is so happy she had it done, and feels as if she has a new lease on life. I'm hoping it will be the same for you!

My goal is more modest: 150 will do, but 140 is really where I want to be. It will take me quite a while. I lose slowly these days. However, you, my friend, are doing great! I bet you will beat me to the goal! Your body seems to be happy to let go of the extra. Mine is very resistant. Oh, well. I'll take my time and be patient!

Enjoy your weekend!

Hi Megan,
Well, the little bird is home for awhile, safe for now. The procedure went off without a hitch. I should have a great weight loss this week! Starting get cold again. so I won't be walking outside. The surgeon said I could have pain up to a year, but more likely 6 months. Ouch! Anyway, I feel good today, nevermind the knee. Taking it easy.
Your weight loss deserves a "Woo Hoo!" Good job, well done. We just have to keep on. I'd like to lose 30 lb. more. I've already lost 38 lb. My goal is 120-125 lb.

I can, I will, I believe in me.

Jeri, I am so glad to hear your sweetie is back in the nest. It is really, really great that it is her idea to end the adventure and come back home. I hope she stays. The coldest months are just around the corner, so that just may be your guarantee.

I'm sorry your knee is still painful. Does the doc have any idea how much longer before the pain is gone?

Well, I managed to lose a pound this week. A WHOLE POUND! For me, this is amazing, and I really hope I can continue at something resembling this rate of loss! I could be very happy with 3-4 pounds per month. I really could!

Have a great Friday, and I'm sorry your notes are disappearing. Spark can be quirky sometimes!

Hi Meagan,
Again, I wrote you a note and it was erased. My homeless daughter is home for awhile. Not as much fun as she thought I guess?? I walked outside today for 25 min. It is sunny and 50 degrees, perfect for walking. Healing slowly, constant pain. Feels better everyday. I forgot about the sodium, thanks for reminding me.

Jeri, yes, your husband is right. Actually, if you had sushi and soup you took in quite a lot of salt. Give it a few days and see if that extra weight comes off. I'm good for a two-three pound gain after I dive into the soy sauce and miso soup!

Also, sometimes our bodies take a little while to start cooperating with us. Mine can be stubborn as a mule! It really wants its padding to stay right where it is, thank you! The mind-body conflict. It's real!

We will get there.

How's your knee?

P.S. I was discouraged at the weight gain, but my husband said keep going. He has been a great support. It also helps that he's changing the way he eats, too. You guys rock, keep up the good work. Together we can do this!
