Day 2 Interested or Committed?

Until today I've been pretending to be committed, but only interested. I have to build up my "no matter what" muscles and get through my daily challenges. I am worth the effort it's going to take to get to my goal.

I will only eat foods I can get numbers on - no numbers no bites.
I will drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water per day.
I will work out for 30 minutes daily.

Being so close to Halloween my office in decorating for a Willy Wonka themed floor and all this candy could trigger some serious munching, but I'm sticking to my healthy options and finding my fruits are hitting the spot and my veggies are satisfying the need for a crunchy food.

~ decide if you are committed and what that means to you. Are you committed to you and improving your life? Are you committed to changing your life for the better, not just interested.

I used to be committed and lost a lot of weight during that time. I realize I've gone from committed to interested. That has resulted in my maintaining the loss. I guess I've been committed not to gaining back all those lbs lost, but now I need to up my commitment to actually losing more and reaching my goal. I need to do this for ME, though the advantages of it will spill over to my husband and that's a plus.

~ write your commitment down. Take some time to reflect and think about how you will stay committed to you, to your goals, to losing weight or to maintaining your weight. What are you willing to do?

I commit myself to re-committing each day to not overeating, to getting enough fruit and veggies and whole grains, and to getting at least some exercise 6 days a week. I commit to not beating myself up on those days I fail, but to get back on track IMMEDIATELY.

~ do at least 1 thing today that demonstrates your commitment. For example take a walk or eat some freggies! No matter what! Because you are committed. To you!

This morning has been an extra stressful one and the last thing I felt like doing was exercising. I got on the treadmill and did 35 minutes, anyway.

Day #2...I committed to getting to the gym after being absent for 2 months.

I did...it felt good but I sure knew I hadn`t been there for awhile.

I am planning on it 3 X a week at least and something else for at least 2 other days out of 7.

I am committed to staying with this 100 day weight challenge. emoticon

DAY 2 - AM I INTERESTED OR AM I COMMITTED?

• Decide that you will always be committed to your weight-loss plan, not just interested

As of today, September 30, 2014, I, SHARON2014 is committed to a healthy eating and fitness plan.

• In your notebook, describe how you will stick with your program, no matter what.

I will stick with my program which is:

At LEAST 10 minutes EVERY day of intentional exercise
Weekly average of 1200-1400 calories/day with total of 150 minutes intentional exercise.
Read/respond to the 100 day challenge book and on-line resources daily.
Aim for average of 8 hours sleep each night.
Aim for average of 5000 Fitbit steps each day

I WILL STICK WITH MY PROGRAM NO MATTER WHAT! NO EXCUSES!

• Do at least one thing today that demonstrates you are truly committed. For example, take a walk or eat your vegetables—no matter what.

I will do at least 15 minutes walk.

I'm currently on Day 71 - but I wanted to pop back here and leave some encouragement for anyone who's on Day 2 today. 10 weeks' ago I didn't feel that commitment, and I posted something I found on-line about commitment being like when you can't imagine NOT doing it (like other daily routines - brushing teeth, making the bed etc). But exercising and meal planning was always on the 'to do' list!

This morning I couldn't even wait to get dressed before I did my 10 minutes core & abs workout. The first thing I want to do is my exercise routine!

Who would have thought I could be this person?!

Day #2 yesterday went well. I "committed" my food for the day and stuck with it. As a kind of mantra, I mentally told myself and reaffirmed throughout the day "I am committed...." Now on to Day #3 today: Do it anyway! emoticon

Day 2 went well yesterday. I didn't really feel good all day, tummy troubles. I had committed to doing 20 minutes on our elliptical and did it anyway. It felt good. It's the first time I've been on the thing for a year or so.

Day 2 was a good day!

Today was long but I stayed the course. I have only been "Interested" for the last several years, hence the steady weight gain. It didn't take much to throw me off course. "You tend to stay with your plans ONLY until something better comes along" This quote was profound to me because it was beyond the truth. I was guilty! My latest thoughts prior to beginning the book were this: We return to school soon....I may as well wait until after the first week....ALL WE DO IS EAT! Our church is planning an adult outing next Saturday......dinner and bowling. I should start my program afterwards.....THAT WOULD BE A WHOLE WEEK!

These were thoughts of the "Interested Rita" Interest allowed me to slowly put on 40 pounds! I am ready to be COMMITTED ---TRULY COMMITTED. I plan to stick with it, no matter what! On My Way......One Day at a Time!

Day 2

“Interested” to me means, I like the idea of dieting but, not all the time. I hadn’t realized until now that I was only fooling myself all these years into thinking I was dieting but, really wasn’t. That way of thinking didn’t get me to my goal and my bluff has been called.

“Committed” to me means, I said I was going to diet and to stick with it, so do it – No Matter What! I will stay motivated and keep focused towards the end goal. I will keep reminding myself that “I am different now; I am committed” when faced with a food/mood challenge and reread my 10 reasons for losing weight list weekly.

I had an unplanned road trip today to Lake Havasu City, AZ, which is 3 hours from Flagstaff, AZ; where I live, and to drive home today, 6 hours total, plus another three to complete the reason for driving to Lake Havasu in the first place. Basically, it was a long day. The routine for any trip is to gas the car up and buy snacks for the start of the trip, usually not healthy snacks, and buy more snacks on any additional gas ups as well as eating lunch out somewhere. Challenge and Success #1: I didn’t purchase the usual coffee with sweet creamer and a donut, but instead purchased coffee with half and half and freeze dried apple slices. Challenge and Success #2: I ate a good lunch of only eating only ¾ of the chicken enchiladas; didn’t eat the accompanying rice and beans and didn’t order dessert. Challenge and Success #3: On the return trip home, upon gassing up the car, I only purchased a Diet Pepsi. I would have liked to purchase Twix, but didn’t, normally, I would have.

On each challenge I reminded myself that “today I am different” and that I am “COMMITTED” to doing this. I survived and it was a very successful day!

There's nothing wrong with using the word "diet". It comes from the Greek word "diaita", meaning way of life. So to lose weight and keep it off we need to change our way of life.

Interested or. committed?

Not aiming for perfection - but about staying focused, with consistency, determination and persistency - NO MATTER WHAT!

I will be committed with my program by focusing on the analysis of Day 1 and by revisiting the thoughts I wrote for that day, every morning and every time I feel like slipping or leaving my program behind. emoticon

Key thought: "INTERESTED" slips away quickly, "COMMITTED" stays with it 'no matter what'!

"Interested" tends to stay on plan until something better comes along (like potato chips or ice cream). It keeps going until the scale stops moving - then gives up. It blames circumstances and other people for causing it to flop.

"Committed" means NO MATTER WHAT! It keeps going in spite of challenges and what other people are doing, or what tempting foods present themselves!

I would love to see what 100 days of COMMITTED effort would accomplish toward my goal!

It's not about perfection - but about staying focused, intentional and persistent - NO MATTER WHAT!

My plan is to do the following three things during this 100 days:
1. count calories and keep them around 1600
2. exercise 6 days a week - 30 - 60 minutes per day
3. drink 5 pints of water per day

To demonstrate my commitment today, I will take a walk with the dog around the neighborhood tonight, even though it's blazing hot and humid out as July in Georgia is. In the past, I would just say 'forget it - it's too hot out'!

CruisePuppy

"Success is the progressive realization of a worthwhile dream."

"Success is the result of small efforts -repeated day in and day out! "

If you have enough strong days in a row, that makes a strong week. If you do it again, you’ll have two strong weeks. Do it some more, and you’ll have built a strong month. Keep it up, and you will have a strong year—one strong day at a time.

I will be committed to my Healthy Living plan which will result naturally in weight loss.

I will eat more fruits and vegetables in my healthy eating lifestyle.
I will eat less wheat and sugar in my healthy eating lifestyle.
I will drink more water in my healthy eating lifestyle.
I will exercise daily in my healthy eating lifestyle.

In order to stick to my plan, no matter what, I will not set absolute values for the number of servings that must be eaten daily, nor the minutes of exercise. My body will let me know when I need more or less each day. In this way I cannot fail or fall short on my lifestyle plan and give up.

Today I ate my veggies and I worked out on my exercise bike. I feel great!

No, I dont' really think a holiday would work for me either. I just meant there might be days I was busy in the hay field or canning and get behind. but I dont' want amnesia ;- ) or too long of a break! Not good for me. I am a strong starter, but a weak finisher. So you all may have to keep after me!

I think on previous times through the teams would take a couple days of break time around the Holidays and then start up again.

As we get closer to them whoever else in the same cohort with you will have to make a decision if you want to do that or not.

So 100 days probably could take 110 days, but as long as you don't develop amnesia and remember to come back and start up again, it's all good!

DAY 2

Starting today, July 11, 2014, I will always be committed to my living healthy plan.

I will stick to my program no matter what. This is the one area of my life that I can control Even if I am in a situation that doesn't have the best food choices, I will just do the best that I can and go on It will still by my choice.

I will do my very best to stay within my calorie range. (points).

I will weigh in weekly.

I will complete the 100 days (even if it takes me 110 days LOL)

Today I ate my fruits and veggies. And I drank more water. I made good, healthy choices for my body.

Day 2:

Interested or committed?

I am COMMITTED!

I will stick with my program no matter what by not letting work over take my life.
I will stick to my program no matter what by not letting my boss or husband derail me.
I will stick to my program no matter what by taking time for me and putting myself first when
it comes to eating right and my work outs. I will make time.

Today I demonstrated that I am committed by not giving up and putting my job first, before me. My health is more important than a job.

My day # 2 from June 21, 2014:

• Decide that you will always be committed to your weight-loss plan, not just
interested. Write a declaration about your new level of commitment.

This is for the rest of my life, to be the best of my life.

• Now describe how you will stick with your program, no matter what .
I will remain committed to a healthy lifestyle of eating within points range with reasonable overages no more than 3 days per month, and with an average of one hour of fitness per day NO MATTER WHAT!

• Do at least one thing today that demonstrates you are truly committed. For
example, take a walk or eat your vegetables—no matter what. Then write
down your action so you can celebrate it.

Today I am committed to staying on my WW plan, getting in at least 20 minutes on bike and drinking my water. I will have other forms of exercise in my day, such as DH's caregiving which includes a lot of lifting/transferring and wheelchair pushing and housework as well.
