I don't want to walk the treadmill but I'll do it anyway

I need to make this a habit and eventually do it for longer than I am at

I will remember I will do it anyway

Oh, my goodness, CUPTON! I don't think that's messing up, I think that's coping! I have a good friend in one of those chairs, so I just can't imagine what you went through. Can you say a wonderful wife supporting her hubby? Yep!

DAY # 3 DO IT ANYWAY

Today I had to get out of my nice cozy, warm bed very early. Of course I didn't feel it like but my body said...DO IT ANYWAY!
So I did.

Today I had some laundry to catch up on and I didn't feel like it but my closet said DO IT ANYWAY!
So I did.

Today I was tired and didn't feel like cooking a healthy lunch for Jim and I. But I know that that is what will keep us going for a long time so I DID IT ANYWAY!

Many, Many years ago a man named Jesus didn't feel like being on that cross. But with love in His heart for you and me He DID IT ANYWAY!!!!!

-track my foods SOME, not all.

BUT... hubby's dentist appointment was very, very long.
and I was needed LOTS to maneuver his big, motorized chair emoticon I knew it was taxing me, but how can I say no. emoticon It was really a nightmare. People who have not done this I don't think can understand. If it is done wrong the chair damages walls, doorways, medical equipment. The dentist was upstairs and a little one chair elevator was used. His chair barely fit! We went up/down/up again/down again! This dentist made the bridge right then(after pulling a tooth!). Hubby went home with the new bridge!! But honestly I came home dead.

So I over ate supper--chicken ala king from the dining room here. Normally I'd skip all the noodles and have a light dessert. I tried---I divided one dinner into 2 for hubby and me. But eventually I ate the other serving. WAY TOO MUCH. And I will be sick from the egg in the noodles! emoticon

I have to be diligent about caring for myself. 100 DAYS OF WEIGHT LOSS is a great way for me to keep focused. Day 1 is July 1, 2017. Build habits to produce success. Most of these habits I have at least tried before but did not sustain. First habit: delay eating by using a timer.

"I don't feel like it."
>A handy possibly lazy excuse.
>A phrase that excuses us from having to actually decide to do or not to do something.

I think that there is NOT an imperative to do everything I plan, actually. Real life does not always go the way I plan. It is often necessary to adjust, modify or abandon plans for actions that address what happens IRL.

When I make a decision to not follow my plan, I stay in control and take responsibility. When I "don't feel like it," I am not in control. The dog ate my homework! emoticon

There is a TED talk by Mel Robbins called 'How to stop screwing yourself over' If you don't already know it, you might enjoy this:-

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lp7E973zozc&
am
p;t=347s

about 10 mins into this talk she says 'you are NEVER going to 'feel like it' - the message being, if we wait to feel like doing something, we'll never do it!
emoticon

Today I decided to stick strictly to my food plan and I noticed several occasions when I could have faltered - but "do it anyway" came to mind and saved me!

I chose plain nuts instead of the very enticing roasted, salted, spiced nuts
I chose to eat one piece of fruit with lunch, not two
I chose not to add any 'extras' to my meals
I chose not to have bread with my soup

It feels very good to have succeeded today. I stuck to my food plan regardless of how I felt.

"Focus on your actions...". I have been doing a lot of reading on thoughts/feelings, etc, and realizing that we can question our thoughts has been illuminating. In this context, what does "feeling like doing something" really mean? I'm contemplating that!

At the start of each day I review what I need/want to get done. Most days I get it all done, but there are times when I just plain run out of steam and it really doesn't have much to do with whether "I feel like it" of not. When I don't get everything done I do add it to the next day's list so I guess that is my "promise to make up for it later".

I have been very busy for the past 6 weeks and my fitness plan has really suffered because of it. I have been getting in some walks and I have been doing a lot of gardening work in my flower beds, but it just isn't the same as the workout I get from my fitness routines. I have my pen-pal from Germany arriving on Wednesday for a 10 day visit and so I can't see getting back to my normal schedule until after she leaves. However, I think we will get lots of walking in (just not at the fitness speed I'm accustomed to).

Tracking my food is another area of weakness for me that I need to address.

Day # 3 Do It Anyway
(The same every time I repeat these lessons, thank heavens for the 5% team!)

Each time I get to this lesson I know that physical activity is the one part of my "healthy living plan" that I still have not kept up with.
Thankfully I am now on a team that is focused on minutes of exercise every day so I "just do it" every day.

in your diet or exercise plan, identify a task you don't feel like doing, and then do it anyway!

I don't feel like walking on the treadmill
I don't feel up to dusting my pig collection

~ notice how it feels to accomplish a goal by taking a "no matter what" approach to it.

In the past it has always felt good when I accomplished a goal I had set out to do

~ make a list of actions you plan to stick with today, regardless of how you feel at the
moment.

My plan for today is
1) walk on the treadmill for 15 minutes breaking it down into smaller chunks to avoid pain in back
2) to take down my pig collection (it is a huge collection) and dust it all

Today is a good day = I know I can accomplish these goals today

I do not feel like recording my food on the food planner , but despite the time it takes, I now have a copy of my choices for the day. This is important, knowing what is being placed in my hands. This either sets me up to succeed, or to fail. I am done failing because I lose focus and choose not to follow through.

I shall take this mountain

I didn't feel like sorting through the clutter in the little cabinet under our TV stand, for a very long period of time (maybe a couple of years).

A friend of mine is hosting a garage sale with the proceeds going towards her Breast Cancer 3 day walk and was asking for donations of items for the sale. The process of going through the clutter took less than a half hour and she will be getting a DVD player, some DVD's, CD's, computer games and books to sell.

Just Do It Anyway!

Today I got up at 0400 and got 30 minutes of exercise done. I also reached my 10,000 steps today. It's so tempting on these days when I have to leave early for work to just skip the exercise. I might have been able to get 10000 steps and just count my walking while at work my exercise today, but I am trying very hard to stay committed to my morning exercise routine before work.

Day 3! Just do it anyway!

I have been tracking again past 12 days. I will continue to do so for at least 3 weeks. Today, I had a moment where I was tired and I did it anyway. I usually write down at night what I'll have next day. Will continue to do that for at least 9 more days. And see how it goes. I'm committed! emoticon

Today is a "just do it" day. I'm tired from the trip and I just want to stay in my easy chair but.....I am going to just do Lunges and squats for my strength training and I am also going to get my steps.....because I'm going to "just do it" with the promise to myself that I can read and relax this afternoon and I will cook a simple, quick dinner.

Just do it ... no matter what.

I do great, get alllllllll fired up ... and then fizzle before I accomplish my health goals.

Yesterday was tough ... emotional after a phone call from mom. I started to raid the kitchen and stopped myself.

Eating was not going to ease my discomfort. So I took a hot bath.

Just do it ... no matter what.

I already know that after riding in a truck for 8 hours I am not going to feel like walking, but I'm going to do it anyway today. I may can do some walking on the way up there. We always have to stop for Harley and to take breaks, so I could look around and "saddle up," walk anyway.

I will have to write about how I feel in my journal tonight. However, I know from times I did this in the past that it feels very powerful. It may not seem like it, but it is taking my power back...the power of positivity and control over my own weaknesses. It also defeats that gremlin in my head who is saying, *whine* "You don't HAVE to do this. You're hurting today and it will just make it worse. Why suffer when you don't have to?" For one, no...walking/physical activity DOES make the hurting better once I work though the stiffness. The joints limber up and I move with far less pain than when I stay in my chair. And secondly, yes, I DO have to do it to stay mobile with less pain. Doing it anyway pretty much effectively shuts down the whiner.

Today I plan to monitor what I eat, walk at least 30 minutes (more if there are opportunities), enjoy the trip, the scenery, my hubby and Harley, and be happy. Happy is definitely priceless. God bless, and I hope you have a healthy, happy weekend. We are going to Hot Springs to pick up Harley's new "brother," a cockapoo pup that looks almost just like him. I will be posting pics. That's a threat and not a promise. LOL!

People who are interested in losing weight

1. Stick with it until something better comes along

2. Take action only if they "feel like" doing it

3. Need to see results in order to stay motivated

4. Blame people or circumstances for their struggles

5. Easily give up when they face challenges

People who are committed to losing weight

1. Stick with their plans no matter what

2. Take action whether they feel like doing it or not

3. Assume that if they stay motivated, results will follow

4. Take responsibility for their own actions

5. Keep going in spite of challenges and setbacks

"Tasks that I do not feel like doing
I must not like journaling for I quit after a bit or only do breakfast or lunch= Today I will journal my food in the TOPS tracker and on paper so know what I ate.

Exercising- No not happening today but will create a plan to get started.

Action I will stick with today no matter what!!

Journal and track exchanges
Steps over 10,000
Plan correct exchanges for lunch
Measure and weigh my food exchanges
Have a snack after supper to prevent cravings

Do It Anyway
I know that physical activity is the one part of my "healthy living plan" that I always need to work on.
emoticon emoticon I am now once again on a team that is focused on minutes of exercise every day so I "just do it" every day for the team.

Thanks for sharing Gill. I will look at it after work.

This is my third 100 day trip. My first time around I posted:

"Tasks that I do not feel like doing.. Ah writing down everything I eat!

I will start doing that today. AND being honest about it."

Well I started writing down my food after I posted that. But then I stopped. It felt too much like WW. I had followed that plan, lost weight and gained it back a few years later when I stopped counting points. I never learned how to eat. Now I know how to eat and how to listen to my body.

Do it anyway: Eat three meals on "N" days with no sweets or seconds. Sometimes I only eat two meals of my body is not hungry. I am off from work today and I will have another green day! I used the rower this morning even though I really did not want to, Feels great that I did!

I am very motivated even though I am only running on 5 hours sleep. One of my teenage daughters gets very emotional and we had a rough night. So much pressure in honors classes. I am planning one treat Saturday and one treat Sunday.

I do not feel like limiting what I eat but my body is worth it. I am worth it!

You're never going to FEEL like it - but do it anyway!

This TEDX talk by Mel Robbins is 20 mins long - if you go to about 10 mins in - she starts talking about the effort needed to get past not feeling like it! highly recommended!

The great thing about Day 3 - do it anyway! is that is can have a knock-on effect in the rest of your life; you start off doing a healthy thing like taking your blood pressure, then you have a healthy breakfast, then you go for a walk in the sunshine - before you know it, you'll be doing those resistance band exercises!

Identify one task and do it anyway - took my blood pressure first thing and then, after a healthy breakfast went for a walk in the sunshine. I need to do resistence band training to strengthen my frozen shoulder which I hate and usually resist doing. Today I will do it.

Good luck with the campaign, Linda! Thank you for being willing to be a public servant. It is a sometimes thankless thing. Holding good thoughts for your appointment with the cardiologist.

Just catching up here. Cat, I'm so sorry to hear that your husband has had to go through so much. I hope he is doing better today. It has to be so hard for you too; I know I like to feel like I can make things better and sometimes it is just now within my power to do so. I really hate feeling helpless.

Hope you both have had some sleep!

have always done WATP videos - 30-60 min a day ....... then was able to join a gym as they had a special - love ST... main reason to go - so fitbit does not track alot of that I do list it on spark tracker ... 3 xs a week - you need to rest those muscles in between ......
the weight still did not move for 3 months but a few lbs and 2 inches in places...
started the keto plan and the fat fast is when I lost weight - and slow which I do not care as long as it moves - so this week of hurricane matthew and no power - I lost 3 lbs ......... exercising was survival ... gym just opened yesterday as they just got power back and offered showers which I would have used - but I had gotten mine back too and did shower badly needed

Staying on track under those circumstances is awesome, Cat. We know, intellectually, that eating something unnecessary isn't going to help anyone at all, but the compulsion to 'stuff' negative feelings back down by eating can be very strong - especially when we're tired, or at the end of out tether! You did well! Thanks for taking the time to post your Day 3 notes.

This was yesterday's lesson ... I am catching up. It is very timely for me.

Just Do IT!!!!

I didnt feel like staying on program today at all. Hubby had a brain injury 9 years ago and insomnia is a critical part of our life. Hubby was on the edge of a manic episode due to insomnia being a side effect of taking steroids for a tooth nerve that was more than angry. Who knew????

I talked to the pharmacy about hubby but didnt point blank ask if insomnia was a side effect which it is. I did ask what the side effects were and ensured that it didnt adversely interact with his brain meds.

I am tired, concerned, angry, and did I mention tired.

I said all that to say I stayed on track even though I didnt want to.

Day 3 October 12, 2016
Do it Anyway

Identify one task and do it anyway - I preplanned all the food I was going to eat today

How did it make me feel? Excellent to feel in control; I ate dinner out and was able to enjoy food I love without feeling guilty.

My routine has been to read the lesson in the morning, digest and think about what I need to do to be a success at the daily lesson. Today I realized that I have not been good about taking the dog for a walk in the morning...so much easier to laze around in bed and read that darn kindle. Not go for me or the dog; so my one task going forward is to walk the dog in the morning.

It's a green day for me today - food tracked; stayed within my point range; drank my water and got in 35 minutes of exercise!! I'm 3 for 3 and lovin' it!!
