Day 88 - I do care

""In most cases, when you don’t feel like sticking with your diet plan, it’s not that you don’t care. It’s more likely a sign that something else requires your attention. ""

Sometimes I just feel like an easy soothe after a contrary day.
Beckism - If hunger isn't the problem, eating is not the solution. (Fix the problem)

Sometimes if I have been trying for quite a while to move the scale down, and it is not moving down, and I am enduring feeling hungry regularly ( cravings as the daily calorie count is 1600) and the scale is not moving down and I am getting discouraged that perhaps due to menopause and it's accompanying slower metabolism and decreased potential to gain fitness and strength from exercising and feeling tired due to exercise and not feeling fitness improvement, I think that just to not gain weight, I have to regularly endure hunger, I think, I don't care, I don't care, I don't care, an indulgent binge would feel very good right now.

Then I think I really would like to realize and maintain optimal fitness and form and health.

I still have the stickers on my mirror, fridge (I got a new stove, I will add some to the stove too) from the last round when there was a day we put up stickers in visible places to remind ourselves, even when we are not thinking about it, that we do care.

I do care - I don't want to hear me thinking as a rationalization to over- indulge that I don't.

DAY #88 I DO CARE!

I am a bit behind on the lessons and this one is EXACTLY how I felt last night!

Here are some points in the lesson that stuck out to me:

* Do you ever say you don't care? Use it as a reason to eat? Or maybe even feel so frustrated, perhaps like a failure that you think you really don't?

I have been on top of my the fitness game. But I had a social event the other night where I completely failed to stick to the plan I had come up with for dealing with temptations. And the yesterday I got into the Eggnog & Rum (a tradition = "old habit") after we finished decorating our Christmas tree, followed by pizza for supper (because I didn't have a plan in place), followed by salty, buttery popcorn while watching TV (because by that time I no longer cared!). At the end of the night I was totally discouraged and wondered why I even bother trying to lose weight during this time of year!

* When you get worn down, it's tempting to let up on your dieting efforts or even to give up entirely. But - Don't stop caring! To stop your pattern of reaching for food as a quick fix, you have to stick with your diet even during times when you don't feel like it.

* In most cases when you don't feel like sticking with your diet plan, it's not that you don't care. It's more likely a sign that something else requires your attention, energy, or focus. Figure out what's bothering you.

Well, of course, deep down, I DO CARE! Today I reminded myself of this several times and I will need to continue to remind myself because tonight I am meeting a GF for dinner and then we are going to a Holiday Craft Market that offers all kinds of appetizers and wine as you browse and shop!

When I stop 'caring' for myself and focus only on others, that's when I'm in deep, deep trouble. I'm staying focused on myself and keeping positive thoughts.

Good luck with your knee surgery, Maria.

So thankful for the reminders in these lessons. Life Continuously gets in the way as I prepare to leave this morning for scheduled knee surgery. CONTINUOUSLY caring has makes ALL the difference in my weight loss/maintenance journey! Sure there are pauses and slip ups as I have been experiencing lately, but I forget, forgive and get back to caring.

Day 88 - I do care

I've been working on my weight since March. I've lost 27 pounds. Plenty of off-track moments or even days. April was not a good month. June had a vacation where I brought back 5 pounds. I've never even thought I don't care or I might as well give up. I've just asked myself, "What's the next thing to do?"

As of today, my BMI left the obese category and went to overweight. In spite of imperfections in my diet and exercise habits.

Day #88 I Do Care!
Granted it is hard to continue to care enough to stay on a reasonable plan day after day especially in December.
However having the life I want means living the lifestyle for it.

I care that I have an active life so I exercise.
I care that I am not on any meds for health issues so I continue to pay attention to nutrition.
I care that I am healthier than when I began this lifestyle change
so I stay on teams and challenges for support.
I DO CARE!

I do care! I can't undo past mistakes, but I can do everything I can now to make sure what I'm putting in my body and saying to myself are healthy and loving! Yes...there are slip ups, but I can recognize them as such and get back on track.

Donna, congratulations! emoticon

Gill, in reading your message this morning I think your plan was a brilliant idea! I saw that you were 'disappointed' at eating that final/small/healthier cookie. I think your plan worked out well. I think you should be proud of yourself. emoticon

I did some this 'care' preparation/planning for the holidays. I wasn't 100% but I am happy that I cared enough to plan and prepare healthy choices. It definitely helped and I didn't gain weight which is a first in many years.

I do care because ... I am worth it.

I didn't come from a … Leave It To Beaver kinda family. So, I taught myself that I was worthy.

I'm quick to speak up for myself and others. My actions for taking care of myself … hasn't always reflected how I feel about myself.

Love for ME … needs to be inside and out.

My house is half-dressed at the moment as I pack things up ready to move. It doesn't feel very homely anymore! I have official letters to deal with. I am having to be brave and do it all by myself. Even at 63yr old I find myself wanting someone to hold my hand and do things for me - it ain't going to happen!

Today, my 'I do care' is ............ 'because no-body else cares about me'

Perhaps, unless you are in a close loving relationship, this is the honest truth - no-one really cares about us as much as they care about themselves - it's up to me to care about me.

I don't mean this to be gloomy - it's just how it is - for most of us probably - being grown up!
Does anyone else really care if I get obese? Not really.

I don't know what I could possibly add! Everyone has made very 'profound statements.' Seriously. I totally agree.

I do care. Also I continuously remind myself that I must remain 'committed versus interested.' There is definitely a difference. I do care - I keep coming back. I keep working on making changing, forming new habits. That's what it's about - the journey.

I care that I am in a high deductible health plan, so the healthier I stay, the less money I have to pay out on doctors, drugs, etc.

I do care! I will always care! I am worthy!

So many temptations.
So many times I feel stressed and others are eating the foods my body does not need or that will hurt my body. I could choose to have it too, but I do care!

If I have the cake I will feel guilty afterwards. If I eat at the school breakfast I will feel guilty afterwards. I care about myself. I do not want to feel guilty. If I stick to my plan I am eating healthier.

I care about me and will stick to my plan. Thoughts are thoughts and they can float by.

I care because I am worth it.

Cheryl Richardson said something ( I can't find the exact quote) about making peace with oneself, in order to become the person who can give to others with grace and love.

A good reason for self care.

I love that sentence too - so true - "Figure out what's bothering you"

and, do you know what? I think we've all become so much better at that. Instead of saying things like "I don't know why I did that!" we're now more likely to say "I think that was because............"

Day 88, 100 days I do care!

I agree with the lines I read that if you don't feel like sticking to your plan "its more likely a sign that something else requires your attention" and sadly that's true this week! I have not had my best eating day again. Somethings else upset me today but there really is no need to continue letting it spoil my day - I need to keep caring about me! "I do care a lot!"

I do really care enough to follow my eating plan
I do really care enough to fill in my food diary
I do care enough to keep exercising! emoticon emoticon

I have done the quit caring thing before. But I do care more than ever now. I am worth it. My promise to God is very important to me. I am not going to give up. It takes some effort, but so does many worthwhile things in life. I care about being healthy. I care about being able to have the energy to enjoy life more. I care about avoiding major health issues.

I re read my 1/5/17 post. Wow! A year later and so much is still true.

I have not lost any weight since that post. Still stuck in an 8 lb loop.

I am on a narrow road right now but almost daily the road widens for a small part of the day.

I do care about my health. I choose to show my body that I care!

I do care about not putting weight back on

I do care about not letting my jeans get tight again

I do care about having toned muscles

I do care about staying debt-free

I do care about my belly not wobbling when I jump up and down

I do care about not feeling dumpy and frumpy

I do care about feeling confident about how I look

I do care about being able to wear anything in my wardrobe without that awful feeling that some of the things will be too tight

I do care about keeping my waist:hip ratio in what is considered to be the lowest risk range

Day 88: I do care!

I am just now reading this. Appointments earlier today. I can do this this evening and the evenings are the hardest for me anyway. chris

Suggested activities for today
~ Make a sign that says, "I do care!" Place it where you can see it easily, such as on your refrigerator, mirror, or computer screen. emoticon I have had this sign up for over a year!

~ Remind yourself at least a dozen times today--well, this evening and tomorrow! emoticon --- that deep down, you actually do care -- no matter how difficult the day has been.

~ Write down a few lines in your notebook to help you remember how much you care.

I will write it here:
I really do care that less weight on my poor knees will make me feel much better!

I really do care to get my health "numbers" under control. I have a doctor's appointment next week! Eeekkk!

I really do want to keep wearing some new clothes I just bought--in a slightly smaller size.

"I don't care" is exactly what I have told myself dozens of times in the past! The truth is though that -

I DO CARE!

If I didn't care, I wouldn't keep logging into SP every day, even if it means starting with a fresh, new day!

I care because I want to achieve what I set out to achieve so that I can be proud of myself and know that I gave it the best I had to give!

Day 88, I do CARE!

I just finished reading the lesson and Leslie's 5/27 recap. Inspiring! Motivating! I guess I needed to be reminded that I do care! This is going to be a good week, I'm stronger; I'm healthier; and I care!

I care enough to use Spark Coach daily.
I care enough to track my food honestly daily.
I care enough to exercise every day.

and I do those things because:

I care about the people I love and who love me.
I care about my Spark friends and want to be a supportive example.
I care about the friends in my TOPS chapter who are also working to lose weight.
I care about my health and how it affects my future and the future of my loved ones.

Exercise today: Cleaning out, reorganizing and decluttering hub's garage. I've been starting to infringe on his space. LOL It will be hard, hot work....most of the stuff will have to be loaded for good will and my shelves need a good cleaning.

Day #88 I Do Care!

I care that I have an active life.
I care that I am not on any meds for health issues.
I care that I am healthier than when I began this lifestyle change.
I truly care more about my future than I do about my past!

I care

I care about fitting into my clothes and feeling confident
I care about reducing my risk of cancer, diabetes and heart disease
I care about being able to remain active and independent

Yesterday I bought a pack of 6 nectarines instead of 6 choc-ices - that's caring.

Day 88, I Do Care

Yes!
I care enough to be aware of my calorie range
I care enough to track my nutrition
I care enough to track my fitness efforts
I care enough to forgive myself for being imperfect
I care enough to be proud when I look at the lessons I have learned
I care enough to support others on their journey to health
I care enough to Spark!

Day 88 exercise - moving furniture helping to set up and break down for Elena's 5th birthday party. It was hard work but such a joyful day!

I do still care. Actually I care more than I have in a long time. I'm slowly making progress. But what's important is that I'm making progress!

Day 88: I do care!
If you're like most people, you get tired of staying on your diet, pushing yourself to exercise, and avoiding all the fun times around food. Sometimes you may get so discouraged that you decide you just don't care anymore. When you get worn down, it's tempting to let up on your dieting efforts or even to give up entirely.
Don't stop caring!
In our lives, we tend to want whatever's easy. And eating is definitely easy. But to stop your pattern of reaching for food as a quick fix, you have to stick with your diet even during times when you don't feel like it. On a bad day when you're tempted to "not care," remind yourself that you are worth it and you deserve to improve your life and your health.
"I do care! I will always care! And I will make it!"
Figure out what's bothering you
In most cases, when you don't feel like sticking with your diet plan, it's not that you don't care. It's more likely a sign that something else requires your attention. Maybe other things in life are demanding your energy or your focus.
When you're tempted to stop caring, dig past your excuses to see what might be getting to you in life. Rather than just giving up and deciding you don't care about your goals, take care of the real issues that are getting in your way.
Make a sign that says "I do care!" Place it where you can see it easily, such as on your refrigerator, mirror or computer screen.
Remind yourself at least a dozen times today that deep down, you actually do care-no matter how hard the day has been.
Write down a few lines in your notebook to help you remember how much you care
A perfect one for today as I think I forgot to care yesterday. and the last few weeks. I went off my exchanges and ate things I should not have.
I care
to remain a KOPS I care to be healthy and active.
care enough to follow my plan. I care enough to work out the reasons why I want more to eat. I care enough to make my plan work.
I care enough to plan my eating
I care enough to fill in my Food Diary
I care enough to start exercising and drinking more water
I care to not let my inner voice led me to overeating. I care to watch my exchanges and find active things to do instead of sitting. I care enough to find ways to not get tired so want to sit,

I do care . A lot.

I care enough to spend hours researching and tweeking my diet to suit me best.
I care enough to shop for fresh ingredients.
I care enough to cook.
I care enough to excercise hard most days of the week when I would rather not
I care enough to make sure I get a good nights sleep
I care enough to log into SP.

It's not the only thing I care about though. I care about my family and friends. I care about my job and livelihood. I care about other people's feelings. I care about living my life fully.

So sometimes when I have to do something for my family which may not fit into my diet plan, I have to chose. Depending on priorities I sometimes chose to ignore my eating or excercise plan so that I can bake that cake for them or go out to that restaurant they want to try. That's fine with me, that's just life.

you don't have to see the whole staircase. Just take the first step.

Day 88 - I DO Care!

I care that I am able to enjoy nature walks with my boyfriend.

I care that I am in a high deductible health plan, so the healthier I stay, the less money I have to pay out on doctors, drugs, etc.

I care that I am going to be healthy enough to enjoy a very long and joy filled life.

I DO CARE!
I realized this lunchtime at work, after I had eaten some goodies earlier, that I felt my trousers were much tighter than they should have been after my festive eating more than I had planned/usually eat emoticon .
I care enough to plan my eating
I care enough to fill in my Food Diary again
I care enough to keep exercising regularly, at least 30 minutes a days walking
I care enough to try to 'not expect so much from myself!!!' and put this pressure on myself
I care enough to continue my 100 days Journey with my good Spark friends emoticon emoticon

I DO CARE! emoticon

For me the way I show that I care is that I am going to bed about 3 hours earlier than I used to and since I am awakening earlier I get the complete enjoyment of the early morning sun from the south and it floods all of my living spaces with bright sunlight. By afternoon it is overcast (the time of year mostly) and then I can feel and see myself slow down.

I show I care by working more diligently on much needed de-cluttering. I feel empowered as I complete each task.

I show I care when I make good food choices and turn down ones that are not supportive of my overall weight loss goals. I am having an afternoon snack so I am not too hungry when my evening meal comes.

I show I care when I manage my health care options so they will ultimately benefit me.

I show I care when I balance relaxing with working physically.

I Do Care! I have worked too long and hard too many times to not keep caring. I do NOT want to fall back into old bad habits and keep any extra pounds that crept in during the holidays. I have weighed myself. I have started tracking/measuring my food again, drinking my water... I have put up my ideal goal weight sticky on my bathroom mirror and I am looking forward to the accountability of another group challenge that will start soon. emoticon emoticon
