Three things I will do to stay on my plan today are: track my food, drink at least 64 ounces of water and exercise at least 30 minutes.

1.Started my day with Bible study
2. Accomplished 250 steps or more each hour from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
3. Took time to get e projects around the house done today.

Early this morning I wrote on a notebook page what I wanted to achieve today: Tracking my food, staying in range, making early spin class, a load of laundry, and taping and painting baseboards and door frames upstairs. Having this all written out helped me move through the day with a plan. So far so good on everything.

Sinus headache all day has made it a bit tough, but the early exercise helped. Getting my workout done early really gives me a boost and energy to follow through. One item on the list accomplished that I can put a check mark by.

What I told myself today was "I'm moving right through my list."

not much to add to what I wrote last time - what can I add this time around

Don't just write logical, reasonable plans, do it, follow the plan

1. Write a list of three things you will do to stay on your plan today.

- plan the night before
- stick to the plan
- stay ever mindful

2. Identify any emotional issues that might get in the way of your focus.

- a day with a different schedule than usual
- feeling entitled to eating "just this once" more because I have been eating less for so long
- feeling entitled to eating more because burned more than the usual calories

3. Create a self-talk phrase to use instantly when your focus starts to slip away.

-stick to the plan
as the plan pre-thinks the events it will cover - no eating more for comfort

DAY #4 0 TODAY I'M ON MY PLAN

YES I AM! But I certainly understand this lesson VERY well. Losing my focus is the #1 obstacle for me. Linda suggests we start each day with a firm, positive intention and that we need to remind ourselves of it frequently throughout the day. So far this year I have been doing pretty good at this. Sure I have had a few slips, but they have been so small they are of no concern at this time.

So what are 3 things I am doing every day to stay on my plan?

1. I CAN & I WILL DO THIS
2. Plan my meals
3. No seconds.

Emotional Obstacles?

Frustration with my dad.

Self-talk focus?

When I find myself saying "I want ____" remind myself "No You Don't!" I have used this on several occasions since the start of 2020 to keep myself focused and on plan.

Day 4, Today I'm on my plan

Three things
Plan my meals - done
Get in at least 30 minutes of intentional movement (trying on a less dreary term for exercise)
Get on line and select a healthy meal from the restaurant we are going to this evening.

Easy Peasy, right......well we'll see....

Thinking happy thoughts for you, Gill. Hate that you have to go in to work on your day off even if it is just for a meeting. Go for that smiley face!!

2. keep occupied with crafts, reading, music
3. read Day 5 of the book

Emotional issues that might get in the way

- feeling tired and lonely
- resenting the team meeting at work tomorrow - on what should have been my day off!

I have all the food I need cooked and waiting in the frig
Exercise class scheduled for this morning

My biggest take from the blog link is the “subtle” and “in the corner of my eye.”
I sometimes feel too focused on my plan. It exhausts me. It’s good to hear that it can be subtle in my thoughts but still succeed even if not in the forefront...hmmm!?! It’s only food.

A decision made about how much to weigh is a decision made on how to live. (KANOE) I have decided.

Day #4 Today I am on my plan

To stay on plan today, I will continue to weigh and measure my food. I will slow down and savor my food.
I will put everything on the nutrition tracker and pay attention to carbs from bread and pasta.
I will focus on my plan to stay within my calorie range and to eat a variety of good nutritious fruit and veggies every day.

My emotional issues for the immediate future will be moving.
Hubby and I have survived a lot together but this move may test everything.

“Everything doesn’t have to go my way!”
“This too shall pass, I will survive!”

Day 4- I'm on My Plan

I have blogged about this before; how weight loss is work all the time. How every little decision we make *DOES* matter, and how if we are not careful, we will step out of line without even realizing it.

Yesterday, I woke up at 4:30 AM. I live in Buffalo NY, and cannoli donuts are all the rage right now. My co-workers really wanted them, so I got up early to get them. (It's the only way you can because they sell out so fast, and people are waiting over 2-3 hrs in line to get them.) Anyway, I got them, and then I went to the gym. (Irony?) Before going to work, I placed 3 in the fridge for Saturday, and passed out the rest at work. I didn't eat any. Why you might ask?

Because it wasn't an S day.

No-S is my WOE. (Way of eating). It's simply this:
No snacks
No sweets
No seconds
*Except* sometimes on days that begin with S (Saturday, Sunday, Special)

So... I made myself wait until today. And yes, today I'm eating it. But, I will stick to my plan no matter what. Because if I don't, I know what happens to me.

And it's nothing good.

- Plan my meals for the day in my food diary
- Review my food diary every 2 hours but try to write in immediately
- Keep away from kitchen and stay active and positively On Plan! Tidied my fridge to make things less available, put chocolate in a tub!

Identify any emotional issues such as stress that might get in the way of your focus.
-Couldn't think of any straight away but any time I see the goodies or offer them to my MiL I am tempted so need to stay strong!

I also saw other tempting things this evening and remembered I am trying to avoid sugary things and stopped myself with techniques learned before and self talk. emoticon

2 - get enough rest and de-stress so that it is easier mentally to stick to the plan
3 - remember why I made the plan in the first place - I put this together for Beck Day 1

2 - Be physically and mentally healthy, fit, agile, energetic, productive, confident and feel and look my best!!

3 - If hunger isn't the problem, eating isn't the solution - besides not solving the problem, over-eating creates an additional problem and keeps me from reaching my goal. Why would I do something that keeps me from reaching my goal?

3 things I did today to stay on plan:

Tracked my food all the way through even though I ate out at lunch and had to estimate on that.

Chose wisely at lunch and didn't have the roll. Had salad dressing served on the side.

Got a 60 minute workout in this evening at home even though I usually drive in to the Y.

Emotional issues and disrupted routine do get in the way of focus. Lunch with son was nice, but a bit stressful as he has an ongoing situation that is not good, and part of getting together with him involves listening to his frustration. Not the whole time, but a bit of it. Also eating out gets me out of my set lunch routine I do at home, and makes it to where I don't want to drive into town all over again later to do the two Y classes I usually do today.

My biggest issue lately is evening eating. I can do great all day, staying on plan-- yet once that sun goes down, my resolve wants to go with it. There is no way I can maintain my loss, if I pick and graze and snack all evening.

Not stress-related but DH home all day and he tends to pop to the bakery for pastries.

Don't jeopardise your progress for a sugar-fix. Respect your body.

DAY #4 TODAY I AM ON MY PLAN - ROUND 2

Yes I am! ! ! In the previous round I was lamenting about not being able to stay focused for more than a few hours on some days. That is not the case for this round. I still lose my focus, but much less often. Why the improvement? Well, because I pre-plan! Linda reminds us that when we let up on our focus, especially during times when we feel weak or vulnerable, it's a setup for disaster. For me these times are when I am tired and/or overly busy/overly scheduled (even if the activities are fun). My antenna really needs to be up during these periods and have a plan always eases the strain.

Today I will :
1. Eat according to my BLE meal plan.
2. Get at least a 10 minute walk done.
3. Check in with my friends here for some SPARK!

Emotional Issues? Not that I can see. The sun is shining bright. The temps are getting warmer again after a 2 day cold spree. We found a place to rent here in Nokomis, Florida that was very willing to accept our large poodle, Ollie. Life Is Good!

My Mantra today: FOCUS!

Being 'on holiday'. Even though I'm still at home - I'm on holiday from work, and that tends to put me in a celebratory frame of mind where I feel I 'deserve' a treat (aka a food treat!)

My plan is MY plan - and it works for me.

1. I went for a run, even though I didn't 'feel like it' when I woke up. I'd left my running togs ready to put on, and I went - because it was on my plan. I enjoyed it - which makes it more likely that I'll do it again.

2. The choice at lunch was easy - vegan platter: white bean hummus, a few bits of pitta bread, a few olives, some red pepper, some lettuce, a couple of mini falafels and some pickled cucumber and celery. A turmeric latte. We both had the same, shared the table with another customer who had also chosen the vegan platter. No desserts were even mentioned. the food was light, but plenty.

3. I asked for my latte to be made with oat milk at the cafe. At my friend's house, I accepted dairy milk as it's what she has.

Hit my step goal.
Stick with my food plan for the day.
Complete my vision board to help me maintain my focus.

2. Identify any emotional issues such as stress that might get in the way of your focus.
Wedding tasks, communication issues with a friend, dealing with the never-ending decluttering process that I am currently in the middle of.

3. Create a self-talk phrase to use instantly when your focus starts to slip away.
I need to learn to pause. To ask myself "Why?". Why am I putting that task off? Why am I thinking about eating that? To get curious about why I am self sabotaging. So my self-talk phrase is "Why?".

I listened to Brene Brown, yesterday, talk about hanging a note in her pantry that read "Why are you here?" I love that. I will be hanging a post it today.

Today I will not focus on the negatives in my life. Instead, I will focus on the positives of my accomplishments and personal strengths. I am strong, surrounded by positive energy, and will finish the day with a success. Out of the corner of my eye, I always see my plan.

Feel overwhelmed as usual. House dirty, messy. Telling myself it is okay,
and I am getting to the point of dealing with it.

Spent 45 minutes this morning correcting a series of coworker's careless errors. Felt like eating. Did not. Told myself: Not worth getting aggravated over, and aren't they lucky they have someone like me to correct the work? And aren't I lucky I'm a smarter dog than some of the pooches around here? Woof, woof. Let it go.

I don't want to do that any more. I am changing my habits for a better life.

My plan for today is..........10,000 Steps, healthy Choices, Mindful Eating. The last one has been working for me....if I eat slowly, I realize that I don’t need to eat everything on my plate. Hopefully this plan will continue to work.

I like to think of this as a plan on things I can do rather than things I can’t do or can’t eat......an apple with natural peanut butter tastes pretty good! emoticon

Day #4 Today I Am On My Plan

Today's lesson really resonated with me. If I could keep my focus throughout the entire day, or when I am in challenging situations, I would have reached my weight-loss goal a long time ago!

I have used Linda's suggested technique before - for a few hours. I have also used the suggestion that I read somewhere (here on this Team? or a different lesson from Linda?) to drink a full glass of water at the start of each day - for a few days. See what I mean about staying focused?!

I need to find a very strong reminder for myself. Some way of checking in with myself frequently to see if I am maintaining my focus. I use my Fitbit alarm to get myself out of bed in the morning. Maybe I will try to use it for an hourly reminder system.

I am feeling emotionally fragile because of the loss of a dear life-long friend. But I'm feeling the feelings, journaling about them and not stuffing them or eating over it. I am staying within my allotted calories and feel good about that. I have my exercises already planned. I'm having trouble sleeping but will take a nap today when necessary.

I have done this before and can do it NOW!

Joy is a Choice. Choose joy moment by moment.

- Keep away from kitchen and stay active and positively On Plan!

- Today we are going to a BBQ at the Residential Home, planned not to eat any but in the
end decided to help my dd and MiL with almost 3/4 of a burger (less bread roll) and recorded it in my diary later.

3 Things I Will Do Today to Stay on Plan:
I will set a specific time to exercise. Done.
I will start my day with 2 glasses of water before I have my cup of hot tea. Done.
I will pre-make my salads for the day.

Emotional Issues that Might Get in the Way:
The huge amount of money flying out/little coming back in during our building projects this summer with the additional stress costs of bldg. supplies have gone UP!

I bought one cinnamon swirl for my friend who wanted a treat with her coffee. She remarked that there was only one - I said that I wasn't having one. She said the inevitable 'oh, you are good!' I said that I'd had rather a lot of treats lately, and the scale was edging up, and I wanted to put an end to it. She ate her pastry - I didn't eat anything. No more was said.

1) check my menu plan and stick to it Protein Shake and lots of water
2) Fresh Juice and NO sugar, NO POP
3) Soup is good food !

Well...so far! It is only 8:30am though. I'm glad this lesson is on "Focus" because it seems to be a problem this week. I totally forgot to post here one day so did 2 days together; I'm also on a new medication that I must take three times a day and I'm only used to taking pills once a day. On Tuesday night I realized that I had missed two of these very important pills.

So...I must focus...focus on my health, focus on my plan, and focus on 100 more days!

* Today I will walk on the treadmill for 1 hour, eat on plan, and take ALL my meds.

* I'm dealing with a recent loss and a new diagnosis of MG...so I will continue to take some "me time.

* Focus, girl....just FOCUS!

This evening my younger son (who is in town for a couple days) will be staying out here with us. This will upset the nightly routine as I will take a bit more effort with dinner. He usually also brings some exotic new craft beer to sample, and tonight I don't want to do that.

1. I will continue to keep track of all my food intake on the nutrition tracker
2. I will go ahead and attend the 5:30 p.m. strength class that is on my exercise schedule. I can have dinner ready to put together when I get home around 7.
3. I'll just say "no thank you" to even any tastes of whatever exotic beer DS might bring.

DS visit not stressful, but today will involve doing a bit of getting the upstairs bedroom ready and extra planning of meals.

Day 4 - Today I'm on My Plan

Start each day by saying, “Today, I am on my plan and I will stay on it all day!” Remind yourself often that you are determined to stay on your program. If you start slipping into old patterns, review your weight-loss goals and why they are important to you.

Today

Write a list of three things you will do to stay on your plan today.
No snacking or buying sweet things
Journal all foods and drinks
Drink your water
Identify any emotional issues such as stress that might get in the way of your focus.
lots of unpacking to do and clearing of storage shed
things that irritate me
things I can not change
Create a self-talk phrase to use instantly when your focus starts to slip away.

Stay focused You want to keep your KOPS status so lots of work to do
Remember you can eat in moderation just not like you did in past
You have to stay on plan- this is a lifetime commitment
I have done it once and I can again,

3 things to stay on plan:
-eat a healthy breakfast
-Sparktime!
-breathe deeply, I got this!

emotional issues:
Stress of trying to get caught up after being gone 2 weeks.

mantra for the day:

I can do it, I have done it before, I will do it!

Yup - today I am on my plan! Today's lesson covers the issue I encountered in the first book: it's about accepting that I have to stay mindful of what I put in my mouth FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE! (No Deprivation. It's Not Fair!) I am never going to reach a stage where I can just let go and forget what I'm doing with my nutrition/eating/exercise - it has to be part of my life-planning along with paying the bills and breathing in & out!

Three things to stay on my plan?
1) check my menu plan and stick to it
2) tell my friend I am not eating between meals today
3) eat enough at each meal and enjoy my food

Emotional issues that might get in the way?
- not wanting to upset my friend - she wants to eat a 'treat' with coffee; I don't. But I also want her to enjoy her treat, if she want it.

Day 4

1. Listen to good preaching early and often!
2. Stay focused on Jesus and serve with a joyful heart.
3. Go to bed by midnight and sleep so I won't be tired and weak!

Create a self-talk phrase to use instantly when your focus starts to slip.
*I constantly look at Jesus, picture his face, feel his love and power, let him carry me because He keeps me safe!

Day#4 Today I am on my plan
This will be the kind of day that brought up fear of failure and thoughts of giving up in the past. It’s also a wonderful reward of retirement to have this day.
It is nice to share the day with fellow Sparker Tina, 1958TMC.

It’s a planned day of fun, out at 4:45 am to drive to the bus that leaves at 6 am.
My ideas to stay on plan are:
Because I know where we will stop to eat, I went to the website to look at options for eating healthy.
Because I know getting there will be sitting, I plan to get as many steps as possible while I’m there. I understand there is a beautiful garden to explore! I will wear my pedometer.
Because it is easy to preplan and record on Linda’s website which I have done, it will be easy to see how well I did “staying on my plan”!

2. Research nutrition and health science - take notes - organize books, data...
3. Eat less, Move more as distraction:
