Hey ladies!
Glad you read the article and enjoyed it!

Debbie,

One of the more annoying aspects of cinnamon in your tea is that it likes to float! So I have two solutions to that problem.

The first is when I make tea in quantity (which is almost every day) I put the cinnamon in one of those metal balls along with the the loose tea. I use distilled water and brew it directly in the kettle, so deposits from our hard water don't start coating the inside of the kettle. This way I've got tea all day long, it gets stronger the longer it sits.

My second discovery is that if you take your tea with honey or molasses, if you mix the cinnamon in with them before you pour tea into your cup, it doesn't rise to the top. Of course this way you will still have cinnamon residue in your teacup, but hey! Nothings perfect!

Have a fun day, all!

Thanks very much Mzz. I never knew there were 2 kinds. The picture makes it easy to tell the difference between them. I love cinnamon in many things but never tried it in my tea which I will now.

Hey Team!

Thought I would post this about cinnamon.
Why?
Well, I love it and have it every day in my tea, also in oat bran cereal and sometimes on fruit. Plus its healthy.

I like when that happens.

Just as a heads up, there are two types of cinnamon, one of them....
Cassia Cinnamon or "false cinnamon"...contains a lot more of a substance that isn't so great on the liver called Coumarin. So it may be a better idea to stick with true cinnamon... Ceylon (aka Mexican) Cinnamon.

Most of the cinnamon in the States is the Cassia, ironically the photo illustration on the attached article is Cassia... so you will know what type NOT to get.

I get mine from Sprouts in the Mexican spice rack... you may have one of these at your grocers, they come in plastic bags rather than in jars.
its a dollar and change, you get about 4-5 sticks..
it comes whole and looks like a cigar, with thin layers of bark rolled up in one direction. Its easy to break into chunks and grind.
Inexpensive and fresh this way, too.. you know exactly what you are getting, no trust issues or guessing.

How great is that?

Enjoy the article!

Okay I found a photo for you guys contrasting the two types. The one on the top is the true cinnamon, the one on the bottom is Cassia.
