Yes, Paul, this challenge is motivating me.
6500 is more motivating to me than 10,000. I probably average around 7,000 so I will struggle when we get to higher numbers.

I exceeded goal every day this week. Whew. A couple of days were tough.

Paul, thanks for this challenge. I almost gave up Thursday but I did a walk at home video on YouTube and got my step goal!

Paul, you are doing well!
To squeeze in some steps in bad weather, I use walking videos on YouTube.
I exceeded 6500 steps each day this past week.
I almost didn't make it Wednesday. Fortunately , I made it

I failed this week - well technically. I lost 3 pounds last week.
Sat - 6504
Fri - 8855
Thr - 1907 (Bad weather and did not wear watch - no 3 mile walk seemed like good time to charge) (Movie and Dinner w wife instead)
Weds - 8914
Tues - 8411
Monday - 7219
Sunday - 8527

Not sure what to do on really bad weather days but fortunately they are few.

Well done Candy.

I had a great month as well. I missed a day last week. Overall - step average per day over 6000.

This month starting today - the goal is 6500 a day or 46,000 week or 185,000 month.
Let's do this.

I set a goal for January to do 6000 steps per day. There were 31 days so my total goal was 186,000 My grand total for the 31 days was 189,769.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I know this doesn't fit the contest, but I am going to try to keep up with the team step goals just to challenge myself.

I am way behind on daily totals, buy there is time to catch up 31 days times 6000 steps equals 186,000 steps. I will have to dig deep and "step" it up, but I intend to make the monthly goal!

Great job Laura!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Paul, congratulations on all your steps. Take a moment to thank your knees, feet, legs and your whole body for cooperating to get active. I hope your knee feels better soon. Perhaps you could walk in place while sitting before getting up. Also, Spark People probably has a knee strengthening video.

I nailed this past week - Walked miles everyday. As my hip kid would say - Nailed it.
Saturday - 11,000
Friday - 7,305 (rested knee)
Thursday - 10,114
Wednesday - 6,297 (rested knee)
Tuesday- 11,386
Monday - 12,874
Sunday - 6,926 (day of rest)
Saturday - 11,200

My Knee - No idea - I can walk miles, get in car and when I go to get out I can hardly put weight on it - maybe fluid in the joint - goes away after 20 - 50 steps. Comes back if I sit or stop walking.

Hi Laura - You get a win - My Fitbit says only 5100 steps last Sunday. Not sure how that happened. I'm am doing great averaging 9000 steps a day. My morning walks are 6000 steps plus with an evening walk on most days. Sunday is my wife day off from walking. Yesterday, I walked by myself in the evening to get myself over 6000.

This challenge along with Fitbit challenge with my daughter and boyfriend is so motivating.

Winner: Laura (1 win)

A little push goes a long way. I have been getting up 7:30 am (use to be 9-10 am) and going for a 3 mile walk - every morning - start my day with 6000+ steps. This afternoon my wife and I went for a swim (sort of - more bobbing than swimming) in the Gulf and watched the sunset.

I know - I have an awesome life. :)

Thanks Laura - I too am walking more. This week the bar rises to 5500 - not that it matters - I am averaging over 10k (unbelievable but once one starts walking one walks more and more). Taking it easy this weekend - got 8748 steps yesterday and will probably get 6000 today. Monday - back to 10k+ a day.

Had a Fitbit challenge for the work week last week. Daughters boyfriend got up at 5am to run Friday, saw how far behind he was and just gave up and went back to bed. Got a feeling he is going to try harder this week! I won last week just barely over wife. She going to win this week. She was actually 400 steps ahead of me when she went to bed - and yes - I got 800 steps in right before midnight just to win. :)

The challenge if anyone wants to join me is to consistently walk 6000 steps a day.

This is Easy. Once a week (Sunday or Monday) Just post here how many days you walked 6000 steps.

Anyone who needs motivation and not walking 6000 steps consistently today can go head to head against me. After a week - compare your number of days against mine - if you have more you win, if I do I win if tie no one wins. Let's see who can get 10 wins first.

Repeat - keep track how many days you walk over 6000 steps and share with team. If you beat me you win. If I beat you I win and if we tie no one wins. Every Month the steps to walk will go up by 500 (Feb 1 first increase to 6500 steps)
