With the modifications you may be able to do one or two and slowly build up as you get relief. The important thing is to work at your own pace and be kind to your body. There are many modifications, use them, see which works for you.

Awesome - thank you - I guess callanetics is a low impact exercise so even if I can't do some bits it would be good to do the other bits.

THINKGOODTHINGS: Not sure if you can answer this but is Callanetics an exercise I can do without aggravating plantar fasciitis do you know?

All of the Callentic movements can be adjusted for varus problems. The opening warmups can be done sitting down, the two I think may cause you problems would be the upper thigh workouts, Plies and the Pelvic wave. You can do these on feet forward sole flat on the floor.

I have done the same as well, I wanted to be able to keep up with individual counts on the workout because I tend to change up the routines I also wanted a record of which position I used on what day.

I always logged my Callenetics as calisthenics. I believe both use approximately the same calorie burn.

I have listed all the movements in my fitness tracker save to favorites. Dont forget stretches, they burn calories as well. Each minute burns approx 4.5 calories. Have fun!

I don't see an obvious way to log my Callanetics workouts into the fitness tracker. How do you do it?

Adna asked

is it ok to brake the hour to, let's say, two sessions?
Absolutely! Break the routine up how ever you wish. I have even split Super Callanetics between 2 days, how ever you need to break it up is fine :)

what is the point in the pelvic rotation exercise?
The pelvic rotations work the front and inner thighs and of course pelvic floor. When you lower your bum half way you are supporting your body wieght with the front and inner thighs. Remember to move slowly and controlled. The more controlled your rotation, the harder these muscles are worked.

Awesome Questions!

Hi Candice :)
I dont have any of the videos any more, I started collecting the books instead. Sorry. You might start a new thread and ask if anyone would like to though, that sounds like a fun way to get some variation in the work out and less boredom.

Good luck hon

Hi Suzy,

are you interested in a video trade? The only ones i could get my hands on were super, am/pm, 10 years younger, quick stomach & (Evolution without Callan). There are so many more tapes that I can't find anywhere anymore but would love to try.

Please let me know. :)

Hi Suzy,

thank you again for answering my questions :) It's nice to have someone to talk to about Callanetics
I actually bought some other Callanetics tapes like the Super Callanetics and Evolution, I much prefer Callans original videos and her instructions but the Evolution ones get results as well. I feel like that one is more geared towards people suffering from back problems.
Did you try it?

Hi Candice
Let me see if I can answer your questions tonight :)

I do feel the pelvic rotations sometimes my knees even hurt but I guess thats because i never really used my knees.
You may need to seperate your knees a little bit, not hold them so close together, you dont want to tear any tissue in your joints. Also, If you are like me, your knees get tender beingon them, so get you a mat and double it under your knees when you have to kneel, sure does help alot.

About the stretches i was talking about the inner thigh stretches, sometimes they do hurt when i try to go down. I'll try to relax more :) Yep thats the ticket, dont rush the stretch, just allow your body to easeinto the stretch, you took years to get that tight, it wont release in a few hours :)

How long have you been doing Callanetics? On and off since 1989, I had injured my back the first time and was looking for something I could do tomaintain my workouts.
I'm at it for a little over 3 months now and I love it! Before i discovered callanetics any kind of exercise was torture for me and I hated doing it but with these exercises I can actually see results and it's fun!
I am so glad you are seeing positive results, Callantetics does work fast, the more effort you put into the routine, the better your results.Callan said it was meditation in motion, I really enjoy doing the routines.

Btw. Do you still notice inch loss or does it stall after sometime? I noticed mine has stalled a little even tho I'm not nearly as tight as I'd like to be yet.. just wondering because it's repetetive.
Yes you can stall, and if not careful boredom can creep in, here is what I do.Mix up what you do, for instance, an abdominal movement that alwys gets results is the bicycle for me, so I will add it into my routineone week. Another suggestion is to change up how you pulse, you could count your pulses fast one day and triple slow the next session. Change is change. Remember to tilt your pelvis as high as you can, keep the workout challanging and you will continue to see improvement.
Between your workouts of Callanetics make sure you remain as active as possible. Pay attention to your diet, eating clean and healthy with go a long way to help you continue tightening up as well.
I hope this helped answer some of your questions, please feel free to message again, IO love discussing Callanetics.

Hi Candice,
Sorry so slow to answer your post, not sure how i missed it. Let me see if I can answer some of your questions.

About the pelvic rotations on Callanetics 10x10. What does it do? She pretty much explains every excercise and what it does how it affects your body except this one.

These work the inner thighs, in fact your thighs should burn when you do them. If you need more of a challenge, slow the rotations down, and lower your bum just barely above the heel.

Also is there a way to get more flexible at the split stretches? The one with your legs out to the side and bending down.

This sounds like up and over. where you are standing and placing your foot on a barre or piece of furniture.Or could be the inner thigh stretch, either way, the answer is the same. Your body will stretch when you learn to relax. This takes time and patience. Keep stretching but dont over stretch, if this is painful , in a bad way, come out of the stretch some, a stretch can be uncomfortable but never painful. The idea is to stretch not tear tendons. So be patient with yourself, flexability xomes with training your body to stretch. Easy goes it.
I hope these answers arent too late, sorry about missing the post

Hii!

I started doing Callanetics 2 months ago and I'm so happy I found this amazing workout routine, but I am still not sure about some of the excercises. Hopefully someone can answer my questions here..

Thanks :)

PURPOSEFULANNIE this is a great question and I have thought about it and think I should explain my answer better.

Your muscles need recovery time - and if they don't recover enough, you do worse than no strength training, in the long run.

(I'm not a qualified person to answer but, this is my best opinion)

This is the place to post the important emoticon s that you really need help with. Sometimes they get "lost" in the discussion in the other threads, so if you post them here it is easier for the team leaders to catch them and address them for you!

Thank you! emoticon
