Honey - I've found the same thing ("The yo-yo string is much shorter"). I haven't released a large amount of weight since I started doing the daily weigh-in, but I stopped the gaining a couple pounds every year trend that I was on!

It is hard to remain the observer of daily weigh - ins, however it is a great tool. I have been stuck in about a 5 pound range for over a year. It is frustrating but my daily weigh-ins have helped keep me in line. The yo-yo string is much shorter with daily weigh-ins. The questions that can be answered from daily fluctuations are as follows:
Did I eat too much salt?
Did I get enough sleep?
Did I just eat too much? And many more. emoticon

Comments regarding daily weigh ins remind me of words shared sometime ago by Spark Member BESSHAILE ...

"The thing to remember about weighing daily is that if it is interesting, informative, challenging and detached - it's good. If it is depressing, frustrating, and shaming, it's bad. I think regular weighing is important so that you don't suddenly find yourself lots heavier than you thought you were - but daily weighing is only good if it is useful."

So, daily weighing certainly is not for everyone! While I was in weight loss mode, I weighed once a week. Once I was near goal and began to transition to maintenance, I began dailly weighing. I find daily weighing interesting, informative, and useful. So, it supports my process. I have no attachment to the number on the scale. It is simply a data point.

That is the thing about dailly weighing, I don't think one can really take the daily fluctuations too seriously. The real pattern to look at are the upward and downward trends over the course of a couple of weeks or a month.

Of course that is easy to say but it sometimes makes me crazy too. Especially when one is doing everything right but one starts out the day with a short-term gain. :(
