Hey, finished up yesterday. The greatest part was staying committed to completing this challenge. I am happy that I was able to get through it and will now continue with my commitment and I know that this is my year. Thanks for all the positive input throughout the past four weeks.

Finished! This was a HUGE help to get me motivated and more consistent with my exercising. I am pleased to report that I lost 7 pounds during this challenge, feel energetic and happy, and so much more confident! Long way to go yet, but this was crucial to developing the habits I need to continue throughout this journey.

You all motivated me...thanks for posting!

Finished week 4 today!

I learned a LOT, see lots of ways I can help myself keep the pounds off, and enjoyed pushing myself with extra exercise. But I have a lonnng way to go to get my snacking under control and stay focused. This was a really great jump start and a great way to get tuned into my weak spots. Thanks for the support, everyone!

Finished yesterday, lost 6 pounds and a few inches this month. Could have lost more but there were a couple of days when I took a "cheat day". I don't usually do that when I'm making a renewed effort like that, but I think it was actually a good thing but it feels more like a lifestyle change than just another diet. And that's what I've been aiming at since joining sparkpeople 2 years ago February 1!

Do not pray for easy lives; pray to be stronger men. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers; pray for powers equal to your tasks. Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle, but you yourself shall be a miracle. Every day you shall wonder at yourself, at the richness of life which has come to you by the grace of God. -- Phillips Brooks

I think I did more exercise in the month of Jan than I ever did in my whole life! Between the videos, doing the Wii free step for at least 40 mins a day and also going swimming for an hour most days, it felt good and would have made me a winner if I had also not been eating more. Somehow I couldn't manage both the exercise and watching what I ate, but for this past (almost) week, I have gotten control again, will continue with the exercises and hopefully Feb will be the month of losing again.

I am also hypothyroid and take the pills daily too. I have been trying to lose the extra 45 pounds I put on after having my two girls (9 and 11 years old) for years now. It is sooo hard! I bought the 28 day bootcamp DVD and have been doing it faithfully all of January. I weighed myself a few days ago and had lost 6 pounds since I started this. Last night our family celebrated my in-laws 50th anniversary at Buca di Beppo restaurant and I ate way too much so I am frightened to get on the scale for at least a few days. I hope I haven't ruined all my hard work. I am going to go start the bootcamp DVD now and get back on track. I have never stuck w/ any program longer than 2 wks so I know I'm headed in the right direction w/ Sparkpeople.

Exercising according to the January Challenge has actually helped me lose a bit faster. I kept up my (almost) daily exercise bike routine but adding the short January Challenge routines gave my metabolism that boost it needed. Im dependent on taking synthetic thyroid pills and losing weight has resulted in my becoming hypothyroid (a condition that hampers weight loss). The added exercise resulted in an extra two pounds of weight loss! It was a bonus that I got a bit more toned.
I'm in the last 40 pounds (of 105) to lose and I planned to add more toning exercise, once I got to the last 25 pounds (or so) that I wanted to lose. I'm actually considering joining Curves which for me - a miracle.
Changing from Weight Watchers (which I only was a member of for six weeks) to the free SPARKPEOPLE (last February 2011) is the best positive choice I ever made in my decision to get as healthy, active, and lose weight in the process.
For me to complete the January Challenge is akin to my completing a marathon race. I'm proud of myself and thankful for the help SPARKPEOPLE lends us who struggle to get a handle on our health and weight.
Thank you SPARKPEOPLE.

I finished with a bit of a whimper (due to tummy troubles emoticon ), but I DID finish, and I'm glad I stuck it out! This challenge made me stay aware of my fitness efforts (and my food choices), and kept me motivated to do better.

I've lost 7 lbs. since I started, but I'll admit that a lot of that is due to being sick. But I'll take the loss however I can get it! As soon as I'm well I'll be back to doing at least a 10-minute workout each day, and adding 30-60 minutes of cardio as often as possible.

Thanks for giving us all the motivation -- you all rock! emoticon

Finished yesterday, but I don't weigh-in or take measurements til the 1st. I don't feel like there was a weight loss or a lot of body changes, but the biggest change from this challenge was making exercise a daily habit. I needed that!

I finished the challenge today and did my weigh in and measurements this morning. I lost just over 11 pounds, 4.5 inches from my waist and 2 inches from my hips. I did way better than I thought I would. I'm loving the meal plan and the workouts and I'm joining the 28 Day Challenge today to keep this momentum going. emoticon everyone!

I'm so excited I actually completed this challenge. It wasn't going to participate in it since I was still doing physical therapy for my ankle. I didn't think I could do it properly. The videos were great and I stuck with upper body ones for part of the challenge, then moved into others as able. I'm glad I did it, it was just what I needed to get back into exercise and a daily one at that!! I'm ready to start my WATP Dvd's again!! I feel great! Thanks for this challenge.

Done! This challenge was actually challenging for me. I think because of getting sick at the end of Week 3, so I was playing catch up on videos. I also just did the BootCamp Challenge right before this, so I may have gotten a little bored with the regiment (2 months of basically the same thing)... but that is my problem. I FINISHED!!!!

I lost some weight... I think about 5 lbs since the beginning of January.

Hurrah, I'm done! By week 2 I found a good balance between the videos and other training outside of Sparkpeople and I have stuck with it 100%. This was a great challenge. I'm going to try to step it up by doing better at tracking my fruit/veg and water intake.

The big thing for me was getting very consistent about tracking my fitness. Really feels good to log in and enter those minutes!

Is it the end of January already? I've been at my goal week for a couple of months now so I only lost 2 pounds but, my clothes are fitting me a liitle loose now and 3 people last week asked if I was losing weight again. I can't wait for the warmer weather to take the activity outside and see the pretty colors of Spring and listen to the birds sing all at the same time. That's multi-tasking right?

Whew...while my day is just starting, I officially finished the challenge with the video. I have done tons more exercise than I would have otherwise and will get a bunch more in today. I took the day off from exercise yesterday at a 24-hour "crop." You all are so awesome, you inspire me!! Keep challenging yourselves, as will I!
