I am reaching my nutrition ranges on a more consistent basis now. My physical therapist took me to the gym and introduced me to 4 machines. They are for strengthening the upper and lower back, knees and shoulders. It has been a week and I have not felt any discomfort. Maybe he will add more tomorrow. Meanwhile, I am at the maximum in the pool 3 sets of 10 for all exercises. I usually do 30-45 minutes of water aerobics. I want to start water jogging.

I love SparkPeople

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

I am responsible for my own happiness.

My name is Bonnie I live in CT DST

I went from 258 to 126 pounds and have maintained it since 12/28/12.

5/12/12 down 4.4 lbs
5/19/12 down 3 lbs
5/26/12 down 3.2 lbs
6/2/12 down 2 lbs
6/9/12 down 1.12 lbs for a TOTAL 14 lbs. 2 oz. lost !

Still pleased as Punch about my progress ....it is slowing down but difference is probably due to initial water weight loss. Also worked all week so didnt have as much pool time. Had a few challenges this weekend eating healthy and some temptations but all in all stayed in calorie range and counted everything even the dark chocolate kit kat fun size bars-YUMMY!

Down 3 pounds to 175.5. WooHoo! This week has been pretty good. Went shopping and bought some size 14 capris and...they actually fit! I had no faith. I thought for sure they would be sitting in the drawer for another couple of weeks. emoticon Joined a boot camp team (I joined previously but it was not good timing so I let it go) and have been thoroughly enjoying having Coach Nicole kick my butt every day. I have upped my own ante this month and I'm working to reach 170 by the end of June for a total 8.5 lbs for the month. (I've generally been working for 5 lbs.) Off to a good start. This team rocks!

Despite frustrating things happening this week, I have:

** Maintained my weight (100 lbs. on my 4 ft. 10-1/2 in. frame and don't bother to forget that 1/2 inch!)

** Maintained stable blood sugars. Only have to test once/day as the blood sugars are always in the normal range -- but will continue to monitor! Best to jump on any change immediately.

** Sleep . . . ah, the sandman has been a little kinder to me this week, despite stress. I have managed to get my 8 hrs. sleep in and feel better for it.

** 9 glasses of water/day . . . a must for me and I've done it. Ok, let's not talk about the "potty breaks" required, shall we!

** Maintaining my fitness routine. It has really become a habit. Woo Hoo for that. Took along time to go from starting the behavior, repeating the behavior to developing into a habit. I am pleased.

** RELAXATION . . . hooo boy, BIGGIE this week. I have taken @ least 20 minutes for myself each day. )**Hey, ya know . . . sometimes those potty breaks come in handy for relaxing! HEE HEE!) Anywho . . . with everything that "hit the fan" this week, it's a darned good thing that I am determined to make relaxation an habit.

BTW, another relaxation technique that NOBODY has an excuse not to have time to do, because we ALL have to breathe, right! It's 7-7-7. Breathe in slowly for 7 seconds through your nose. Hold that breath for 7 seconds. The slowly, slowly exhale that breath for 7 seconds. Be sure you're doing BELLY breathing. This technique is repeated SEVEN TIMES. Not a difficult pattern to remember. So, get breathing!

No whining, but I will say it's been stressful.

* Worried about Mom post knee replacement STILL having pain . . . shouldn't be that painful 2 mths. post op! But she was insistent with the physical therapist that she take it a little easier and she's FINALLY feeling normal again, and is able to walk without a cane even. Ok, that one makes me N-E-R-V-O-U-S as . . . the emoticon , but she does have Dad to help her and "gently urge her" to use the cane.

I can hear that one right now!

Dad: "Why aren't you using your cane?"

Mom: "It's too cumbersome".

Dad: "So is a broken bone!"

Mom: "I'll try and remember" as she walks off WITHOUT the cane, naturally! **SIGH** Dad has his hands full. She's finally off the pain med so that's progress.

At least I know I come by my stubborness honestly . . . REAL honestly.

** My lil sis and her husband have legally separated. I am very saddened by this, but not a thing to do about it. I know she did not make this decision lightly, so my job as Big Sis is to support. And pray.

*** Major sigh . . . DS. He is continuing on with his advanced training (Sapper in the Army). He still doesn't know where he'll be stationed. BUT looks pretty certain to be Ft. Hood TX. The problem with that one is almost 98% of those stationed there deploy within 2-3 mths. to Afghanistan. (WWWWHHHHAAAATTT??? We're supposed to be pulling out of there!) Yeah I know. Wassup with that one. Anyway, he urges us to prepare mentally for that ... okee dokee. How does a Mom do that without losing any shred of sanity she may have previously in this lifetime or any other? Hmmmm....back to relaxation. UGH

That's my wrap up for the week and ready to hit the ground walking fast today.

Caio for now.

Love is the root of all things good in life.

I'm up a pound from last week. That same pound keeps coming and going, but I am not surprised. The last 10 days have been packed with all sorts of activities knocking me off my routine and sabotaging my eating plans. Last night, it was my son's Athletic Banquet - Buffet fare, anyone?? I probably have a pound of water and salt weight from last night alone!!

Just joined the challenge today. After a particularly care-free weekend, I am up almost two lb from last week. However, I know it has something to do with regular Coke, Velveeta and tortilla chip consumption, so its not totally unexpected. emoticon I'm back on the wagon today!

Joined the challenge 6/3 and weekly weigh in on Mondays. Will post the negative numbers.
I have a very difficult time losing pounds. Goal for June is at least 5 lb.
6/4 0 lb lost from last week but body fat percentage down
6/11 +2 actual lbs but body fat continues to drop more than 5 lbs
6/18 +2.5 actual lbs but body fat down another 3 lbs
6/25 -3lb but body fat now up 8 lbs
Final report: up 0.5 actual lb, body fat down 1% for loss of 2 lb of fat
July 2 both actual lbs and percent body fat are down

Down 15.1 lbs since inception of this group (summer is to totally my time - bet you all did not know this!). Down nearly 45 lbs since late December. Still on glidepath to weigh zero by Thanksgiving 2013...

May has not been particularly kind to me, or more likely I have not been great to it or myself, have really struggled in a variety of ways, but while I have had no loss I have not had any significant increase, just up .4 from the beginning of the month, and actually down 1.6 since my first way in for the challenge.

No weight loss this week, but I have lost a total of 4 pounds in May, which is great for me.
Tracking food most days and lots more active, so I am confident that it will show for next week.

Starting June at 178. I have lost a total of 6 pounds in May. Beat my goal of 5 pounds a month. So I hope to end the month of June at 172 pounds. If I do I will have lost a total of 100 pounds. It is a bit ambitious but I will do my best. Good Luck everyone on having an outstanding June!

Hard to believe that we have been at this game for 4 weeks it’s been a fun 4 weeks
So far I have

1.Lost 3 pounds since the challenge started in May

2. Took my measurements and found I had lost ½ inch in hips thighs and chest area. This month

3 learned that you need to watch what you eat I was watching the calories in but not the sodium / Fats / carbs will start doing this in June this may help the weigh loss increase

4 Learned the importance of tracking everything you put in your mouth right down to mustard and ketchup you put on your Hamburger for example.

my list showed me things i need to work to make June be a good month

I found 100 Days of Summer at the beginning of week 2 at 178. I was approaching the end of a Spring Challenge Goal weight of 175. I was somewhat stuck at 178 following a vacation week and 100 Days of Summer introduced the excitement of adding Swimming and Outdoor Activity to my Journey.

The challenges of week 2 and 3 were just the 'kick' that helped me reach my Spring Goal BUT then Birthday Celebrations caused a bump in the road even to the point of 179.

Week 4 - Kick It Up and Just Say No to those tuff temptations and Yes to the tuff Stuff.
Today - ending Week 4 - adding Swimming has brought my weight to 172 and on track for 20 pounds this summer.

My actual 100 Day Summer Goal weight is 155. 17 pounds to go.

No weight loss this month (no gain either, of course), but did very well with my May personal goals. My May goals were to:

~ Take my supplements daily, and double the Rhodolia dosage to twice a day.
~ Add a "get up and walk" component at to my daily work activity routine.
~ Stick to my "Beer Drinking Rules" and make some new ones.
~ Space my meals further apart - up to 4 hours easily now.

So. On to June! Here's my full report:

Looking back at my weigh-ins, I had a gain in the middle of the month, so I'm only showing a loss of about one pound for the month. Unless of course, you count the two pounds I had to lose again. All in all, I'm happy with my progress. This team keeps me motivated even on days I don't feel like taking care of business.

I am not sure if I have really had any progress honestly and yes, I know part of it is the lack of strenuous exercise. I have 2 bad knees and according to the orthopedic surgeon, it is genetic in my bone structure and most likely aggravated from years of running and fencing in my teens and early 20's. I will however be out and about hiking (slow and steady) this weekend with metal boned knee braces on.

Anyway, I was down 3 lbs last week according to my nemesis, Mr. scale, but this week up 8 (the three + five more) which I will attribute to being female and that is all I will say about that except that I have not been able to wear my wedding ring or watch this week.

So I guess my progress is maintaining. emoticon

5-01 through 5-31 Steady 100 lbs. every day (yes, for health reasons, I do have to weigh each day).

I have been in maintenance mode since January 2011, so a solid 16 months. It's all about maintaining healthy lifestyle habits learned along the way and the K.I.S.S. principle . . .

Keep It Simple Sparker! I stick to the basics:

1. Weigh as appropriate (for me, that has to be daily).

2. Check blood sugars daily . . . or, if the B.S. is above 120, re-check and re-tool what I eat.

3. Log food.

4. Measure & weigh!

5. NO EXCUSES! Just do it.

Love is the root of all things good in life.

Well, my goodness, I think I joined this team in week 2 and just got to this thread.
Computer is lagging tonight so I am going to post this from memory instead of looking up the actual stats. Quite sure that I started at:

14 May: 178 (this was post vacation)
24 May: 174
25 May: 179 (oops Birthday Celebration)
29 May: 175 (hopefully I stay in the right direction.

So 20 pound goal weight for 100 Day Challenge is REALLY: 155

I'm shocked, but I do think this has a ton to do with the ridiculous hours I worked this last week. Wow.

Dipped into the 230s for the first time since 1993. Blogged about it too (you know me...)

Forgot to report in last Sunday at 180.5 which was a half pound loss and a miracle. This week 179! Woo-Hoo! I haven't seen one seventy anything since I was pregnant with my first daughter nine years ago.

5/5/12 Started Sparkpeople again....
5/12/12 down 4.4 lbs
5/19/12 down 3 lbs
5/26/12 down 3.2 lbs = Total 10.6 lbs

I weigh-in Saturday and I have no idea what I have lost because I have not been weighing mid week..... but I have done really well the first 3 weeks so I am feeling good about it. I have been swimming alot and trying to do some walking and even tried isometric exercises and some extra strength training that wasn't part of my plan (thanks to 100 Days of Summer challenges). Loving this challenge because it really motivates me to make good choices.

My only fitness fear is that after I reach my goal weight I will gain the weight back. I need to make this a permanent lifestyle change ! The reason I fear this is because back in 2005-2006 I lost 100 lbs, I maintained it for 3 years but in 2009 I started gaining weight and slipping back into my old ways. On 5/5/2012 I finally got the willpower to change my lifestyle again with 75 lb to lose to reach my healthy weight goal.

No loss, no gain. Sigh. I guess that's what I get for ignoring my cardio this week...

blasted through a faux plateau (yes, I know it rhymes!) and I now have dropped nearly 3 lbs over the last week or so. Total drop of just over 11 lbs since we started the group.

155.2 today. Only a smidge of a loss since last week, but still a loss. Since it's not a gain, I won't complain emoticon
