I sent your email on to my Senator, Kirk, and told him that I would not be supporting him in his office from this point on, because of his vote on this bill. I would rather have seen another Republican get elected, but he was not doing well in the polls. (I can't remember his name) I felt it was important to keep the democRAT out. So, I am adding Mark Kirk to the list of RINO's that we have to clean out. Too bad.

Learn from the mistakes of others. Life is too short to make them all yourself.

Well, he did it, and this appears to be only the first volley.

Today Reid announced Congress would remain in session until the 24th, then resume on the 26th and going until New Years Eve.

The initial vote went just as Barb said it did, but because of some Parliamentary procedure, the vote had to be "confirmed".

Eight RINOs decided to cross over for the "confirmation.

Lisa Murkowski (AK)
Mark Kirk (IL)
Susan Collins (ME)
Olympia Snow (ME)
Scott Brown (MA)
John Ensign (NV)
Richard Burr (NC)
George Voinovich (OH)
with the same three abstaining:
Jim Bunning (KY)
Judd Gregg (NH)
Orrin Hatch (UT)

I don't know how any of them could justify their positions, but Snowe and Voinovich and Kirk were not surprising. It appears the senior Senator from Maine pulled Susan Collins in and Harry probably put the arm on Ensign. My brother said he wasn't surprised by Burr of NC.

The biggest shock to me was Orrin Hatch abstaining. That's NOT what I would have expected of a conservative Mormon.

Scott Brown has been looking shaky since his first few votes. As far as I'm concerned, he has shown he is firmly in the RINO camp.

For whatever reason, these folks all go on my RINO list to work against.

The progressives have pointed to the input of the soldiers responding to the survey (about one third of the surveys sent out were returned) that 70% of the respondents said there would not be a problem with the implementation of the new "openness".

I have two obvious questions? Who would have the most to gain with a positive response to this survey, and how many members of the service does that 30% really represent?

IMHO, that 30% does NOT represent the majority of service members, and the Marine Corps Commandant has vociferously stated that it doesn't represent the Marine Corps at all.

Even "considering" the implementation of this new policy during wartime has got to be one of the very worst, most egregious intrusions of the Congress into military affairs in Military history.

A message to all members of Patriot Action Network

Today the Senate passed the DADT bill to repeal the decision made by the Clinton Administration. Furthermore this bill will allow homosexuals to serve openly in the military.

It will be interesting to see how heterosexuals currently in the service will react to this bill. There were threats made that many would not serve under a open homosexual policy and would seek to be discharged.

SNOWE, COLLINS, MURKOWSKI, KIRK, VOINOVICH voted YEA

Reid and the Democrats are pushing this in hopes that it will kill some of the "disenchantment" with Obama from their liberal base. Someone mentioned that these laws are being voted on and passed by 60+ Democrats in the House...who were defeated in the mid-term election, and will not even be members of the Congress as of January 2011. There is something VERY WRONG going on here.

Lets pray that they are able to block this like the last 1 trillion dollar pork he tried to pass and had to withdrawal because even several Democrats would not support him.

Senator Reid is using a special "Concur" Rule where he can use the recently approved House Bill, eliminate all discussion and debate and have the Senate simply "Concur", or not.

He needs 60 votes to ram this through. If you have a Senator who is a practicing RINO, please send him/her an email and/or phone their office Saturday morning. If they are returning and will be up for re-election, remind them of what the electorate thought of people who couldn't stand on his/her commitment. The Senator might need to dust off a resume after 2012 for insisting "they" know better.

As an Army unit commander, I know an open display of homosexuality will not be well received. It will negatively impact morale (no matter how loudly the "progressives" scream otherwise), and it could lead to injury or death for one of our young service members.

I had to investigate two incidents where suspected homosexuals "stumbled" and "fell" down concrete stairs. Interviewing every single enlisted person in the unit revealed no one who saw anything; anyone who left the unit area went down the stairs at the opposite end of the building, and no one remembered him leaving the living area.

It was a total crock and I was furious, but I could not even get any cooperation from the non-commissioned officers. "Accidents like that just happen, sometimes, sir."

People in Congress with unstated agendas with no experience in the military think they know best. Bull! They haven't a single clue.
