Yeah, my brother is really extreme. I dreamt he was possessed by the devil last night! Also, it's such a problem that he only bought me a bunch of candy I can't eat. I am totally allergic!

Today has been lighter, work wise. I did a couple of loads of washing but my eldest son, his son and his son, my great grandson all came to visit this afternoon. What a treat to see them all. I see my son and grandson quite often but it's a year since I saw the little one. He lives with his Mum and grandson works shifts so not easy.

Auna, sorry to hear about your digestive problems from your gift. Life can be hard when things we would like to eat disagree with us and family problems are just that, a problem, the world over.

Christine, sounds as though you had a lovely restful Christmas, enjoying your lovely family.

I'm home again, safe and sound, after a fantastic few days with the "children"!

Both our sons have just bought their very own first-owned homes.
Younger son, who we stayed with, moved in 7 or 8 weeks ago and is started to be settled, beginning to think about things he wants/needs to do/get done, and their priority - it's an older house that was previously rented out, so hasn't had much TLC for a long while.
Older son and wife just moved in during the week before Christmas, to a new-build. And they managed to have thing sorted enough for her Dad to stay for a few days, and for all 6 of us to be together for Christmas Day.
Hubby did all the driving (his preference).
And lucky old me ended up with virtually nothing to do but enjoy my family :)

I've now made a start back to my decluttering and clearing - I feel so goody-goody LOL!

It sounds wonderful! My family hasn't been getting along that well, so the holiday was very tense for me. And my brother got me a bunch of candy that makes me sick, so I got sick and was up all night from it. I guess I learned my lesson. I'm not going to have any next time he does that. I'm allergic to dairy, and all the candy had milk in it. It was weird. I thought I'd give it away.

At last day to relax doing nothing very much. Christmas Day and Boxing Day were great. Family visiting both days but it is nice to sit down and feel relaxed that those Celebration meals are over successfully with no major upsets. Everyone has gone, for a couple of days anyway, and now I can sit back for a little while.

Yeah, sometimes I listen to the BBC. They've got four or five radio stations you can stream online. Well, it sounds like you have been very busy! You've earned your holiday rest, for sure! Have a very nice time this Christmas!

Hi Auna, There are loads of radio stations available in the internet. Stream them and it doesn't cost you anything. Radio Caroline and Caroline Flashback are both available in the states. Obviously because of the time difference they won't be available at the times we hear them in the UK but I've heard requests from folks in the states.

I've been doing the last of my Christmas clean up so I don't have to do the one for the New Year. I've been busy since early this morning and my back is killing me.

Have a lovely Christmas everyone.

I guess the Christmas program is over now. They're playing other things now.

Please just call me Auna. Vista's not really my last name. It was only a sort of theme for this past year. I need to think of a new one for this coming year!

Yeah, we just don't know where to eat anymore. All our lunch places are gone. We all like this one Chinese restaurant, though, for dinner. They're the only one in town, that I know of, that has a couple of vegan options. The others, they say they have vegetarian food, but if you talk to one of the people that work there, you find that they put meat and bones in every sauce. But not this one! I really like this one dish, it's got tofu in a hot sauce with bits of red pepper. Yum! We only have one other dinner place, because all the rest that we frequented have closed down.

I'll have to see if I can hear that music on the internet. In America, they play the same songs again and again, and not very many. So we get tired of them. I do, anyway, after the first day. You go into every shop, and they almost all play the same five songs on a loop. And the radio's not much better. They've got more songs in rotation, but it's always the same. Pretty boring!

Sounds as though you have things sorted Christine. Have a lovely time and have a safe journey. Watch out for icy patches.

We are listening to Radio Caroline Flashback. Probably doesn't mean much to non-Brits or those who are younger but Caroline was the thing to listen to when we were young. they've been playing Christmas hits from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s all day. Do you remember Aga doo doo, push pineapple, shake the tree, Christine?? Made cleaning the living room much easier, lol.

Sorry to hear you were sad about your eating places closing down, Auna Vista. Unfortunately it seems to be the way these days. I hope you feel better today.

Those are great ideas, emoticon

We finally made it out of the house yesterday, and got a ton of shopping done. As soon as we got back from the mall, it was time to go out to eat and shopping once again! Then I needed to put away some heavy boxes that came while we were at the mall. Well, I brought them just inside before we left again. But when we came back, I put them in the room they go in. We had lunch at this one place that is closing soon. It was kind of a depressing time for me. I struggled with not crying, but somehow managed it. Not many places that we've ever been to are open any more. Places have been closing left and right, for years and years, just one after another. I just think it's sad. It makes you think, "What if I owned a restaurant?" Well, I'm a vegan, so it would have to be a vegan restaurant. And sometimes they don't do so well, since we are definitely in the minority. I didn't get to do my one hour workout on my exercise bike until about 10:15, and didn't finish until 11:15. Such a long, tiring day for me! Mostly on my feet all day! My toes are so red and sore today. They're telling me there's something not quite right about my shoes. Next year, I'm hoping that my mom and I can get things taken care of earlier in the month. This is all too last minute!

Sunday 23rd -
Relax! Have some me time! Try to make any tasks fun - so if you have stuff to do, put on that Christmas CD, or the other one you like to dance through your work - or The Proclaimers and The Dave Clark 5, and really stomp it out!!!!!

Monday 24th -
Make time for a quiet (?) meal together, before you have to do your evening shift LOL!

Tuesday 25th -
Bend and stretch. Handing out the prezzies, picking up the rubbish from the floor (straight into a dustbin bag).
Even carrying the food to the table!
Or a Christmas Day walk in the park?

Wednesday 26th -
Go for a walk, if it's dry enough.
Or play with the kids in the house - mine are 30 and 28. We'll be in the 28 y/o's house again by Boxing Day, all going to plan.So I'll maybe just try and go up and down the stairs few times :)

Thursday 27th and the rest of the year -
Household tasks.
My memories from when I was wee are of an almost spring-cleaning ready for Hogmany and Ne'erday.
So we are going to do some cleaning to be ready to see in a New Year with a home that is (in my case, -ish) ready for new year, a new me!

I've been busy with heavy and not so heavy work around the house every day this past week.
But today was my last day. I just have to finish packing my wee case, pack my laptop and bag, put some stuff in the freezer in the morning, water the plants, get in the car . . .
We want to be away as soon after 8.00am as we can. I will sit in the car, put on my seat belt, switch myself off - and probably, hopefully, sleep away the next 4 hours :)

I have to say I am really excited.
Both sons have just bought their own homes.
Younger son moved a couple of months ago, and we're staying with him.
Older son and my dear daughter-in-love just got moved this past week, and her Dad arrives from Poland tomorrow for several days!
Younger son and us are going to the newest house for Christmas Day.

If the weather is at all decent, I may even try for a wee walk in the park - at both houses, as they are both very close to a park or 2 :)

My exercise today was principally getting the Christmas food shopping done. Not for those of a nervous nature, lol. However, it's done now. My husband and I are both fighting a nasty bug so by the time we got home we were exhausted. It's all away now though and we walked for ages around those supermarkets.

Oh, no! I hope he asks people to move their stuff out of the way next time. It sounds like that would have been easier for you to do. Three hours is a lot of exercise! Wow!

Today, I seem to be having some tummy trouble. So I'm kind of sick today. I may need to pick up some vegan yogurt, since I had some antibiotics recently. I'm allergic to dairy. We were going to go shopping today, my mom and I. Maybe tomorrow we can finish up our Christmas shopping, I don't know.

I had a new pump fitted to my central heating boiler yesterday. In the process the plumber sprayed horrible black water all over the tiles behind the boiler. It went into pots on the pot stand, amongst my jar of kitchen utensils beside the cooker and sprayed in various places around the kitchen. Today I spent all morning cleaning up the mess properly. He did do a rough clean up but there was an awful lot of bits missed. That took three hours so a lot of cleaning and then I vacuumed around the table where I intend putting up my Christmas tree on Saturday. so lots of exercise there.

Thank you, my new mattress is wonderful. I'm sleeping better already. The plumber had to come back today but he's finished the job now so another box ticked and my hair is done too.

Today I have been busy doing ironing, shifting presents around to make sure I have everyone covered and up and down the stairs so often that has to be worth a few calories at the least. I've been making room for hubby to wrap the presents and tomorrow I shall get the tree up and the sitting room ready for Christmas. Or at least get some of that done.

No time to do specific exercises. I bought a new mattress and the moving around of furniture and presents, remaking bed and then moving old mattress to spare room bed and remaking that bed has to count as something.

Finally found a local plumber and persuaded Iain he was safer letting him change the pump on the central heating. He doesn't think he is 70 and can still do what he used to. Plumber phoned at 1.30, to say he'd be there in an hour, he was supposed to call and say which day he was coming yesterday. So cue another quick shift of the stuff we thought we'd get notice to move so that was today taken care of.

Got my hair coloured too but I don't think that will count for much, lol.

emoticon on the squats! I need to learn how to do those. That's at the top of my strength training to do list. I wasn't doing any ST, because of frequent issues with bleeding. But I recently had a blood test, and I don't have iron-deficiency anemia like I thought and my red blood cell count is perfectly normal. So maybe I'm okay to do some ST now. I'll try it out and see. I'm not feeling ready yet, though, because I just added an hour of exercise a day. I feel really tired all the time. I haven't adjusted yet. My cholesterol level was really high, and I have high blood pressure as well. So the daily exercise really has to be done first, before I get in any ST.

Monday

I was busy with laundry today, plus a bit of dishwasher, so I got loads of squats done - I think I signed off at 19 x 10 squats!
This was *not* all at once" - spread out over the afternoon!
