My big thing is SALT, I am so surprised that my blood vessels haven't exploded from all the salt I eat. Funnily enough, my blood pressure is pretty low.

My entire day today was a moment of weakness we were, and are still on the road... We went to a beach to take photos of some terns and clam diggers (sea birds) and collect sea shells, so we spent the day noshing casually. Of course, Shake shack was near this particular beach so I had the vegeterian mushroom burger thinking it was a safer option, BOY WAS I WRONG.

I feel for you, my spouse is an enabler and gets the 5 gallon tubs, ice cream and italian ices are the only sweet treats that really do it for me, other than that I go for salty carby fried stuff. I've had those days, I pass by the Corona Ice King (famous in NY) on my way home from an interpreting job every few days and I so want to stop for an XL mint chip or cherry ice (and NOT the ones made with stevia). It took a good long while to be able to size down to a M (the smalls are sized for my toddlers and I just can't).

A little...yes...but most EE's cannot stop at a little which is why it is safer not to keep it at home at all. Want a little? Pop out and buy a single portion, eat it, and go home to clean cupboards. Whats worked for me anyway, not a rule for everyone.

Everything in moderation. I little ice cream to satisfy a craving, or keep it from happening at all is a good thing!

I just don't keep that in the house AT ALL. Want it, I go out and buy a single portion and enjoy in the company of a friend. If I keep large sizes, it will all be eaten. I;m saving myself, not having it around.....waiting.....lurking....for that moment of weakness.

Good for you for buying the smaller size. Ice cream is tough for me to resist at times. And usually when I get stuff to binge I can't buy just one or two. Isometimes get 4 or more containers and binge. Whatever is left over I eat for breakfast lunch and dinner til it's gone. If I buy donuts its a dozen. I can't even try buying 6.

Lately I don't even have the urge once I bring the food home or the food I chose isn't the one I wanted at the time.

Good luck with your new diet plan and yeah for getting smaller container!

My drug of choice is "bread" or crackers or pasta........

I am planning to start the 100 diet plan. It is online. I will use the diet I used before abdominal surgery which is a high protein and lots of water and daily exercise. I bought the book on the 100 day diet a year ago but got sidetracked with a second book that she wrote. But you donot need to buy the book to follow the program. I am starting it on Nov 1. She sends you things do each day of your journey. You choose the diet you will follow this is just a way to keep you on track each day until it is a habit by the 100th day! Day 100 will be next February which is close to my birthday. I hope to have made significant progress on my goal of 36 pounds.

I will check out the book. Ironic you should suggest it tonight. I was just reading an article on the start page about that topic. I thought it was pretty good.

Coco, thanks for the encouragement. I would recommend getting the "Beck Diet Solution" book. The author of this book, gives some really good ideas on how to change your thinking process to decrease the negative thoughts you might have towards yourself and the dieting process.

I've read online that some dieters don't like this book because some of the daily tasks are not very reasonable. I haven't read the whole book yet, I'm just going day by day, but I've found some great tips and ideas from this book. The one thing I really like is that you can use these tips with any eating plan/diet. It's definitely worth a look.

DLAFram, I feel your pain. I've tried so hard to resist my drug of choice that I found myself almost in tears and pacing between my kitchen and bedroom trying not to eat and eventually giving in to the desire. Yes, I know what you mean. But, you have shown growth by getting the smaller container. That is huge! Trying to change negative behaviors is hard. Give yourself a pat on the back. That was a step in the right direction. Good for you. This is the time of night that is most difficult for me. You gave me a great idea, I'm going to create motivation cards to look at when I'm fighting the emotional tug. Keep going on your path. You're doing great. emoticon emoticon

Okay, so I had a moment of weakness. I've been following the Beck Diet Solution for 7 days now, and I've been doing well; I've been able to keep my cravings at bay. That was not the case tonight. Even after looking at my response cards to keep me motivated, I still had the strongest craving for ice cream (my 'drug' of choice). Does anyone else get cravings so strongly, that denying them brings you to tears?

Usually when I get icecream, i buy a 1/2 gallon and eat the whole thing at one sitting (along w/ almost 1/2 gallon of skim milk, which i mix into the icecream). The only good thing about tonight, was that I only bought a pint of icecream; it was extremely hard for me to pass on buying a 1/2 gallon container of icecream. I just felt that I needed to share this with everyone in an attempt to keep my self accountable for the eating choices I make.
