Thank you - I keep telling myself that ice cream will not change how things went today and it wont help me trying to make some healthy behavioral changes. But you do have a point. If I go to the shop I can eat a scoop of ice cream for the craving instead of buying a pint & eating it at home.

emoticon ...and I'm so sorry about your cat. The fact that you stopped yourself is a great start. You recognized a 'trigger' for emotional eating and sidelined it!

I am so sorry to hear about your cat. Our pets are part of our family and you need to grieve. Will eating a pint of ice cream really help you? If so, indulge in a scoop at your neighborhood ice cream shop. Satisfy that craving and let it go. It is going to take a while to mourn the loss of your cat and eating ice cream is not a long term solution. Have a good cry, give it a few days and consider adopting another pet from your local shelter. Give an animal a chance to love you and you will get love in return. Take care and let me know how it is going.

Hi - I am a newbie and trying to get a handle on things. I started this program 4 days ago and I am trying to get through the holiday weekend. To make matters worst, today I had to put down my cat and honestly I want to eat a tub of ice cream. I managed to not stop at the store on the way home but still wishing I had something. Anybody want to tell me how you cope with things. Would love to hear from someone. Thanks.
