Talk to your college's career services or financial aid office. Usually, if this is an expense related to your course of study, there are programs available to help you meet this expense. Otherwise, career services may be able to help you find an employer who is willing to sponsor your certification exam. I'm not sure how it works for this particular certification, but for a number of other certifications, companies will sponsor your certification expenses. Might be worth a walk down the hall to career services to see what the options are.

Hey everyone! So itís time to get real! My name is Jen Riley and Iím the store owner and maker of fine knitted and crocheted goods. Iím also a mom of 2 adorable kids, a wife to a crazily overworked husband and a graduate student who is in her last semester (woot!).

This past semester and presently Iíve been working in an unpaid internship so my shop was hopefully going to fund my yarn habit/addiction . The internship has been me working as a counselor at my county clinic, which I have just LOVED! But as the internship wrap up Iíve got a looming problem.. I need to pay for my licensure to be licensed in NYS as a Mental Health Counselor.

Folks, this is what Iím passionate about (besides yarn lol). No really, I love being a counselor. Doing the internship has touched me and made me feel purposeful and loving to people in a way that no other job ever has and I love it. But now its time to get my license so that I can practice and it costs $371 to initially apply for my license. You can see the costs under NYSED.gov under Office of Professions and Licensure.

So hereís the thing. I need to sell. If I sold everything on my shop right now, I would raise over $500. So this is what Iím going to do to raise this money. If there is something in my shop that you like but find it a tad above your budget, custom order me and give me a number. Seriously. Iím willing to negotiate to raise money for my licensure. If you have a custom order youíve been thinking about, please contact me and Iíll make you such a deal. I need to raise this money, please help a woman out.

Also, all sales during this time will receive an additional 20% coupon code towards my good friends shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/kesstreyl?ref=pr
