Hi, all, I'm super-behind, but I just decided that I am going to do this Reboot for sure. I listed my advantages on Day 1, and will continue at my own pace, but hopefully will get a little closer to where y'all are at over time.

I'm 4'10.5". A normal BMI for my height tops out at 121.

I didn't have an cravings until last night at dinner. We ate at a restaurant with our DD and her family. I selected carefully - one drink, side salad that I picked the croutons off of and fork dipped the Honey Mustard dressing, appetizer of Ahi Tuna.

I sat there and watched everyone eat the yummy looking dinner rolls and order a second round of drinks. I sat there and kept staring at my SILs yummy looking appetizer of shrimp coated in some kind of sauce. I sat there and looked at everyone else's meals that made my mouth water. Yup, I was working my resisting muscles to their max!

When we were done eating there was plenty of food still sitting on the table and I caved in and took on of those shrimp. Gosh it was good! I do recognized my sabotaging thoughts -

I have been so good. Surely 1 shrimp won't hurt.

And then when we got home -

I have recorded all of my food except for that shrimp b/c I can't figure out how to record it. I'm not worried though b/c I see that I am still below my daily minimum recommended calorie intake.

I am recognizing that I need to keep a lid on this kind of thinking b/c some day it could be worse. Also, giving myself some credit b/c it had also occurred to my to eat a piece of DD's left over breaded perch, but I resisted!

and record discomfort caused by hunger - while skipping a meal, preferably lunch.

read my Advantages Response Card and Day 3 Eat Sitting Down reminder card twice daily, completed to do list, ate my meals sitting down, slowly, noticing every bite.
On Friday I had an emotional overeating episode (lots of carbs and fat) - but gave myself credit for all the good things I did, and for getting back on track.

I posted my two choices on the Day 2 discussion thread,
and I read my Advantages response card at dinner and breakfast, as planned.

Brilliant idea of dr. Beck to have a backup plan ready, and decide now when we are highly motivated. Most diets work well with this program, but in case a diet is not a good fit, chances of switching to another successfully are higher if the plan is ready.

I am in. I have just moved back to Arizona from Ireland and will be living in an Extended Stay hotel for a month until we can rent a house. No oven, just one room. So it will be a challenge to devise a healthy eating routine and exercise. Although there is a very small exercise room in the hotel with a treadmill. And the Arizona heat is dissipating somewhat so i can walk outside too.

Hi Team,
some of our members wish to re-do the pink Beck Diet Solution book.
Let's do Day 1 - Day 42 of the program together!

We start on 1st October, and plan to do one Beck day/chapter every day.
If you want to proceed slower or you are already ahead of us in the book, you are still welcome to join us.
For first-time readers:
*the book is available in hard copy an in e-book
*you will need several index cards to complete the assignments, it takes about 30 minutes per day
*it is good to get the book a few days earlier, because there are 4 introductory chapters before Day 1, worth reading
*we use the pink book - the pink workbook has the same Days and similar in content, but less detailed - you are welcome to join us if you choose the workbook

You can share your experience in different ways:

Working the book takes time and effort, but it is worth it - the skills we can learn and practice really make dieting easier!

Goal weight:
59 +- 1 kg /// 130 +-2 pounds
CET (Europe, Hungary)

Maintenance Lessons Learned:
-go on with the healthy lifestyle learned in weight loss phase
-just add healthy foods gradually to stop losing
-work out every day - 30-60 minutes is enough to maintain weight and good mood
-do not try to balance overeating by extreme workouts, it is not going to work
-avoid overeating, instead of satisfaction you get stronger cravings
