While I would love to set a weight loss goal for December, my decision is to maintain my current weight (158 today) for December and then continue to plan to lose 2-3 lbs. each month until I reach my final goal of 150.

When I looked at the December calendar and saw a 4-day visit to my daughter and her family in Calgary, 2 open houses parties, 2 lunches out with friends, a visit from my daughter in Amsterdam for 3-4 days, my ACW group coming here for lunch and of course Christmas itself, I wanted to be very careful not to set myself up for failure. Iíve also decided to really reduce the special baking I usually do this time of year, and resist the frozen hors díoeuvres, candy, salted nuts and potato chips when I shop. I know that I always say that Iím buying them for company, but I usually eat most of them myself.

Using the Beck principles and Intermittent Fasting, my plan is to continue having my standard breakfast of toasted whole wheat English muffin, egg cooked in 1 tsp olive oil and slivers of old cheddar cheese, and standard lunch of 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt, 1/2 cup blueberries, 1/3 cup bran buds and a sprinkling of salted sunflower seeds. I can enjoy these two meals any time of the day, and they supply a good amount of protein and fibre, with good carbs, so I am not hungry between meals. When I go out for lunch, or have company, I have one of my standard meals for dinner.

I have lost 33 lbs. since starting SP, and my weight has been up and down many times. I was not at all confident that I could meet my goal... let alone stay there... until I combined Beck and IF. Now I believe that as long as I follow my plan, drink water, exercise (cardio and ST), and write my work and meal plans every single noght, I can do it. Iíve even planned to allow myself a 3 lb. range once I meet my goal.

Iíd love to hear your plans for December, especially how you will deal with the extra challenges this month presents.
