I'm happy to report my first week with spark helped me lose twice as much as going it alone the previous week.
I joined on 1/11, but didn't weigh myself until 1/12
My weigh in days are Mondays, so I'm a little off I guess!?

Going it alone the previous week -2.5 (1/12)
Spark people -5 (1/19)

My goal is to blast another 3 lbs off in the next 7 days. I know it's a lot to expect, but I'm shooting for it! emoticon

I weighed in this morning and was down to 183. I lost another 2 pounds this week. 2 more pounds to my first goal and reward :) I can't wait to get my massage.

When I weighed in on Monday I was at 158 and now I'm at 159. I'm not sure what is going on??? I'm exercising and eating like a squirrel (okay a big 159 pound squirrel)! I typically consume about 1,700 calories and have exercised 30+ four times a week. I know this is my first week on SP, but I have remained at this weight for a little less then a year. Any advice from those of you losing the weight? emoticon

YES! You ARE young and your skin is more elastic than mine but you've GOT TO WORK IT to achieve it! It's NOT going to "pop back" on its own!
Again, BRISK WALKS, even JOGGING once you can begin, will be BEST to work that ab area as well as other parts!

Oh good. Yeah, I wasn't exercising AT ALL and I'm sure over calories and not enough water. I still drank at least 8 cups a day though. Now that I've been drinking so much water, I can't stand anything else. I noticed this morning I have some loose skin... eek. I thought since I'm "young" it would spring right back. I haven't been doing as much strength and toning as I should be. If I start now do you think it'll go away?

I'd have to laugh at the "it's not set in" part! The holiday gain IS a quick gain but I don' think it has ANYthing to do with "setting in"!
Chances are that during that time you weren't eating right AT ALL, weren't getting in the water you needed and weren't exercising. Now that you've gotten back in the saddle FIRM and are being more concientious by doing all these things, the weight IS FALLING.
KEEP IN MIND that in order to not have a lot of excess skin once that weight falls like this to make SURE you are doing toning/strength workouts. And as ALWAYS, the best cardio is a good BRISK walk. (I had one month where I lost an INCREDIBLE 20#!!! and have the SKIN to show for it! YUCK!)

I'm at my lowest! 203!

MrsHoney, I have a question. I have been following my nutrition and fitness plans but, I have been losing A LOT of weight since the beginning of this year. I started at 215 and now I'm 203. I'm kind of worried that's a bit fast since we are only supposed to lose 2-3lbs a week. I have expressed this with friends and family and they have all told me that this is because 10 of those lbs I gained over the holidays. And they aren't "set in" yet so it's easier to take it back off. I don't really trust their knowledge in this because none of them are too knowledgable in this. So I ask you, is this true? and if not why is it coming off so fast? Not that I'm complaining. :o) But I just remember it's not "healthy". Thanks MrsC!

I am happy to say 132. I gained 10 lbs. back of what I had lost last year over the Holidays, but I started right back in January 1st. I weighed in then at 137. I can't believe it, but that is 5 lbs. down already since the 1st. Granted a lot of that is probably water weight since I had really slowed down on the water, but I'm back at it even though I am making frequent trips to the bathroom again. It's all worth though. Plus I'm super excited because my husband bought me a treadmill as a late Christmas present yesterday. Let's ramp it up ladies, and Sorry for all the rambling!

I weighed and measured this morning. I had put on a few pounds at Christmas (and after) but I am back on track now.
The funny thing was that my measurements were still the same as they were last July (the last time i had tracked them on here) but I was up a few pounds. But I'm going DOWN now!

Finally back down to 142. I was all right through Christmas; New Year's Eve got me. We had a fellowship after church and I ate too much and then we went out of town and I continued to do so. Thank goodness I'm back in my right mind again!

Post your weight/measurements any time this week!

Some of you may notice a weight GAIN instead of a loss even though you are staying with your calories and exercising.
REMEMBER that it's important to be within ALL nutrient values - the carbs, fats, FIBER, protein and SODIUM.
Remember, also, that although fat takes up 3 times as much space as muscle, a pound of fat and a pound of muscle WEIGH THE SAME. If the scale isn't moving, is the tape measure? How are your clothes feeling?
And lastly, ladies, is it "TTOM"? (That Time of the Month) You WILL experience weight gain which is simply water weight.
GET IN the water that YOUR BODY requires every day (half your weight in ounces) PURE water, not added stuff.

SO, Don't get frustrated, keep with it! If you've just gotten back in the saddle after a lengthy break, you've GOT to let your body readjust to these changes.

Again, post your weight/measurements any time this week!
